I looked up some articles out of curiosity, he dives cold waters nearly daily without a wetsuit and he’s the youngest looking 69 yo I’ve ever seen. He retired from teaching and I’ll bet whatever the subject, was an enthusiastic and interesting teacher.
“What a superior species. There’s never fighting. Never. It’s just gentle beauty. And when you live with gentle beauty for long enough, it starts to affect you, a great deal.” (~3:05) Thank you Roger!
God bless this man. very heartwarming. May he influence this kindness and gentleness to those around him. He's already inspired many of us here in the comments! 🌷
Somebody give this "amater" scientist a grant, PLEASE!! He's an honorary Professor on seahorses. Unfortunately I don't know if the academic community looks kindly on datasheets that have "truth" and "love" in the margins.
As long as the dates and times are accurate and it's done in pen you can doodle whatever you want in your personal data notebooks and they're still good.
This is so damn wholesome, this man. Love he's found something that inspires him and genuinely gives him happiness in his life. Bless anyone who can reach this, like the seahorse I guess! Thanks Great Big Story, this made me smile so much today. ^=^
This guy came into my store just tonight, and was telling me about himself and told me to look him up. Was not disappointed, and he seems like such an awesome guy.
The first time I saw a sea horse was when I was maybe 14 or 15 at my friend Rory’s home. He had it in a normal fish tank . That day it had babies and I remember I was in awe 🤩
At first I thought, why doesn't he just move there? He drives 1,500 miles every month, probably pays for a place to stay and eat. Then I realized that even the cheapest house in Long Beach is still 3 times the amount of his travel expenses every year...
Great job! Do you still currently work with them in 2023? I have a few true stories to share with you (one dating back to 1984 and one in Long Beach around 2015).👍
There's something cute about them wrapping around sticks.
They look like when you wrap those worms on a string toys around your finger

i think the data are ok, so as long as the data will be computerized. in practice, there are worse-looking datasheets, trust me.
As long as the dates and times are accurate and it's done in pen you can doodle whatever you want in your personal data notebooks and they're still good.
