Not a fan of how the video portrayed them as scary evil creatures, they're honestly quite intelligent and social, vamps are known to adopt orphan bat pups and risk their own lives to feed sick or elderly bats that cant safely leave their roosts, and can live for nearly 15 years, sometimes more. As far as biting goes they usually cant consume more than a tablespoon of blood in one sitting, theyre the size of your thumb so they don't nessisarily cause as much damage as this video would have you believe; they rarely if ever bite humans. Considering other threats to livestock, vamps are a miniscule problem, a cow is more likely to catch rabies from a coyote or fox than a bat, lets be honest. It was still a decent video though. I'm terribly sorry for the rant, ignore my prattle. :)

A vampire bat has a much higher chance then a fruit bat to get rabies as rabies can be transferred via blood as well as saliva. Not that many vampire bats have rabies just that I would bet more of them have rabies then those who don't drink blood.
Completely agree, how they picture vampire bats is too dramatic, and a vampire with rabies couldn't be able to feed himself, and they usually go outside in the middle of the day which it's not normal at all. Glad to see your comment~

There’s no cure for rabies, because it’s a virus and viruses can only be treated … not cured, you can build a natural immunity to some of them by repeated exposure but get rabies and your screwed, if caught to late you’ll die a horrible death …

Many years ago I was a young private in the Army. We where in Panama doing jungle training. At dust you could see the vampires bats flying overhead. Be for you went to sleep you had to make sure you had a head net on and gloves make sure your BDU sleeve where rolled down. So you don’t become a unwilling blood donor.
