Will I end up liking it?

What is a price worth for this game?
I expect to be paid to play this another time.

i feel like this game would be really well recieved if it was openly an arknights inspired fan project and was free
Rip off vs fan game, only the greediness of the dev decides. Duality of man.

This game's problem is that it thinks "it replaces Arknights". It should have avoided direct gameplay competition IF it's not a fan game. This is why Lemuen's Wheelchair Parkour Circuit and Absinthe's Storage Flash Game is well received but this game isn't.
My issue with the game is that with so little unit diversity, it feels like I'm perpetually playing a tutorial stage with tutorial music against increasing Contingency Contract enemies.
How to solve :
- make the unit upgradeable like Bloons TD
- currency system, I know I love seeing numbers go up
- streamline the upgrade system, it's a choices paralysis waiting to happen
- diversify the arena locale, so it don't feel like a perpetual tutorial stage
- add 2 more music minimum so I feel a difference between easy, hard, and boss stages.

I agree, but also pls remember this is an indie game or what? And AK is made by an actual gaming company. They just shouldn't have charged for this game; but maybe they needed to return their investments in the development. It does look very cheap, but it still doesn't mean the dev hasn't payed anything to get it running.
the one you said "it's not close enough to Blemi" is actually closer to Sol from Neural Cloud
The earlier stages does look interesting, i feel they fits the vibe of the story (if they actually had one)
And im baffled the dev didn't even try to change the unit's range highlight, its just an exact copy

most online games (any platform) have ultra hard grind system.. experienced online gamer would check every nook and corners of them, before committing.. thats why I'm sticking with Arknights, theres literally no grinds, I can freely play casually (storymodes, events, upgrade operators etc.).. and look forward to no upcoming online game, theres no competition so far
I would rather add $6 more and get Ex Astris or just play Path To Nowhere or just buy Arknights Monthly Card or buy Bloons TD

The yellow square means you can't place there... which is a bit odd choice- perhaps because arknights use a more obvious... red cross lol. Anyway character design feels kinda arknights ish(like the genre)- but without their personal unique trait(feels like someone wrote prompt and use ai, then have an artist that remove all the inconsistency of ai, who knows). The 0 speed setting kindw feel like ptn mechanics... same with the moving character (if you don't know ptn is basically plan ahead your character for the stage, then during the gameplay giving like 30 chancevto move/switch your op and also skill stuff).... is this just the combination of two game mechanics lol

I saw this months ago and they did changed some of the obvious Arknights assets.
I'd still buy it.

Tbh because there's thing like this, the existence of this game make Arknights looks even better.
And when some TH-camr make video about this game high chance they will mention Arknights which it also spread the name of Arknights and introduce it to new audience or people who never heard of Arknights. They might end up trying Arknights too.
To beat Arknights in the same category Anime TD RPG is to have better innovation.
Let's say if TD is a Chess then Arknights is a Chess but the Chess pieces have HP, Mana, Skill, Skill Cooldown, and there's Range expand, Synergy, Buff/Debuff etc.
I've been looking for a premium game variant of AK, but not like this lol
One thing I definitely do not like is how there is basically no skill involved to beat the stages. In Arknights, you can beat all stages with low rarity units and a few high rarity ones, but you still often need a good strategy. The fact that the skill tree is made mandatory instead of an optional requirement is baffling.
It feels like it is trying to be a successor to Arknights (insert J. Jonah Jameson laugh here) which just hurts the game more and make it feel more of a cashgrab, when making it free would have given it better publicity.
And not sugarcoating it, the stage and character design looks cheap and tacky, it does not stand out from Arknights or any other gacha games that have much more creatively in their character art designs. I can't believe I am saying this, but the other Arknights ripoff that poofed out of existence named War of Embers was much better design. I would rather play that game than this, let alone the better free version (Arknights of course)

For graphic design, and though for overall gameplay, they can be improved.
Least for a newly developer who make these game, is impressive.
The quality of life between arknights and this game will be different, due to different owner
And all the characters looks AI, same thing with other games.
Only if this game were meant for Alpha Paid Access, it will be worth it.
No Autoplay, Honkai 3rd Character Building, overall not good for endgame players.
And lastly, This game "might be" meant for first time experience game, We are offered a few fun stages and fun small story for 3$
Character building it seems easy for early play. And it seems this game doesnt have server to play with, meaning no Gacha.
So, I have no hate in this game.
If this game have will to survive and keep going like Arknights did, this will improve eventually. Careful for rival though

Try Watcher of Realms please. Its Dark Fantasy Arknights. The gameplay is very similar and its very well made.

This sucks,but arknights could learn from this in one or two points
For example:

"free game". Yeah, but you cannot get all character. I prefer buying game when I can have all characters rather than gacha game tho even they looks rip off.
