For a live-service/forever/MMO game to succeed, the game needs a game director with solid vision and a producer who shares that vision and who can persuade the executives and shareholders to reinvest money back into the game. To be fair, that is very hard to achieve. But we have producers like Yoshi-P of FF and Kim Yong-ha of Blue Archive (context: BA is f2p friendly despite being developed and published by Nexon, who is notoriously greedy). It's not entirely impossible to achieve such a feat. Honestly, I think it's too late to get back the goodwill from their domestic market, Japan. Once you poison the well, the majority of people will move on and play other games. It's not like there's a lack of anime-styled games nowadays. Yes, sure, they're not MMOs, but Japan is a huge spender on gacha games anyway, so they go and play those games despite not being an MMO. For example, Zenless Zone Zero, which recently became huge in Japan with good revenue numbers and tons of artwork. At the end of the day, games are entertainment. They compete with your time, and you can only play a limited number of games (salary men who only have limited time but has disposable income).
I appreciate you over any of the other channels I previously knew about and feel like I can trust your information. Thank you Edit: The music at 7:42 is fuggin' fire
It sure took them long enough, but I'm glad some changes are being made. It's wild that they thought they could just make an mmo without any experienced leads.
Good video explaining the ups and downs. I think the downs of the game are corrected through a community / guild to play with and learn from. IMO the game is in a good state and once next single endgame bosses comes out (no adds), it will be in a great state. Gearing / Limit breaking wasn't touched on too much in the video, but Blue Protocol's system is amazing compared to other MMOs.
Totally, first week servers will be full (as every launch of a MMORPG) but the hype is alredy dead and the absolute 0 information we get from the devs its making it worse, completely dead game even before his launch
Especially if they do the industry standard and release the game without the JP updates forcing the new server to run the gauntlet of bad early versions. I'd say that would be the #1 concern for me to entering the game. Why would I want to play a game that only starts getting better after 1 year of updates?
I’m still upset global is deleting my seaweed demon shota’s body shape. It makes me partly hope JP keeps doing bad enough they cancel global releases so JP stops being contractually obligated to mass ban. And then they can improve the game〜
sounds pretty good, the other big problem they did was not put the game out in EU/NA at the same dam time.... And now i'm like meh dont really care that much at all. good video overall
Blue Protocol" had the potential to be a really fun experience, even with bugs and glitches. However, it is now likely to be dead on arrival for its NA release. I would have preferred to get a broken game and be part of its journey rather than endure a delay of over a year, during which time many have forgotten about the game or have been spoiled on every aspect due to the JP release and extensive breakdown videos. There are no more surprises or mysteries. I miss the days when everyone received the game at the same time, without thousands of videos appearing on day one from early copies explaining how to play the game. While I understand that one doesn't have to follow others' strategies, in an MMO, this isn't always true. The "min-max or uninstall" mentality in modern endgame raids and dungeons often discourages new players. People may expect you to have watched all the JP breakdown videos, which can lead to gatekeeping in endgame content for NA servers, or the server population may be too low due to people witnessing potential issues live. The main problem for me is that I don't want a pay-to-win model, nor do I want the current JP version to be what we get. If we had received the broken version of the game a year ago, we could have already invested in it and forgiven the bugs and glitches. Instead, we are getting a game that needs serious help, but the necessary fixes aren't coming fast enough.
Never played it but either the game's animation or just the movement looks kind of clunky or stiff. For a action RPG, this might hurt it a lot and just wondering how it actually feels playing. Since you mentioned the gameplay has been a lot more mobile since the last video, that is a good thing but how does it actually feel when moving? As for the endgame vs casual issue. A game needs to be engaging for casuals to try to improve. If they are playing just because of some dailies or to hang out, they won't ever get better. The gameplay needs to be engaging for casuals so they want to improve and do endgame. Of course as you mentioned, the game need to ease players into harder content, but beyond that it also need to be engaging. Then reward people for always pushing into harder content. Also I noticed the fashion seem to be a entire set and not individual pieces which I feel hurts the customization aspect of it to make your character unique.
Game devs in general: Give tons of options to play the way you want... proceeds to add content to the game that you can only do if you play X way fuck game devs...
I genuinely don't understand how game designer could be satisfied with only making "one" way to play. You can have a veritable feast, and you just eat mashed potatoes, wtf.
It sounds like the same slow death Blessed Unleashed experienced. Similar updating patterns too. They fluffed up dropped gear and abandoned a lot of in-game crafting and casual PvE player scene
I get it's their first MMO, however they could of easily taken some ideas from other mmos out there... Also the gear needed to farm in order to reach end game raids.... They could easily solve that sudden shift from super casual to hardcore by introducing instances or open world bosses that not only can also drop these pieces, maybe at a higher chance to incentivize doing that over the mindless AFK farming, but also help to teach players what the end game is like, how to play their class or role, and get some rewards for it too. I don't personally play the JP version, so IDK if it's used at all in endgame, but they could also have the crafting play a role in helping you gear up to farm for these gear drops, or say you dont get what you want from a farming session, you would still get materials that can allow you to craft something. Maybe at a slightly weaker level if they want to keep pushing the drops as being BIS, but it still allows players to have that progression without going hours of nothing. I've played too many mmos to know ways they could improve lmao.
game doesn't have gear you can wear whatever clothes you want its purely cosmetic what it does give though is weapons and and these stickers that boost your stats an give immunities to certain things
Does Items made trough crafting have a different look that the dungeon gear? , Can you use other armors looks on your actual gear like wow Transmog system or FFXIV Glamour system ?

damn dude the music is blue protocol is at the lv or even better then ff14, men i really hope the game can survive and come out for us, it has a lot of stuff that would be great if changed, like what is this UI lol, it looks bad.
See, you keep making reference to how the endgame is missing or boring, and the overworld farming is super one note.. isn't this just all more words to say the actual main gameplay loop - the combat is just bad? I feel like i'm going crazy everytime i look at this game that's the first and only thing i think, granted it's probably because i've played every over live action combat game under the sun and frankly all of them have their various caveats and flaws, but i mean this one is essentially FFXIV but with waaaay less complexity, and what i would call that it terrible personally, like there's a reason why so little people play FFXIV to begin with and frankly I don't expect 'another FFXIV' would even do well because it's more of the same - this is just considerably worse. I should also mention it's not just you, nobody is mentioning this like it's not relevant at all which is just belligerently dissonant since it would seem literally everything else about the game (excluding the live service updates and seasonal content) is either passable, good or even great (the story, the overworld, the progression etc).

PVP mmo gonna be niche, will be forced to join a guild/clan.. not sure how long will be last until people get exhausted with toxicity. I mean it's gonna be real toxic managing guild/clan and allies. Nevertheless ill be playing it on launch and see how it goes.
People still waste time with this game? Ugh...
if they dont sort that riad thing for global it'll kill the game fast due to the usual toxic assholes ruining the game for everyone else.
Honestly don't even care about the game that much anymore its already dead in jp so so theres no point thanks to Amazon
damn dude the music is blue protocol is at the lv or even better then ff14, men i really hope the game can survive and come out for us, it has a lot of stuff that would be great if changed, like what is this UI lol, it looks bad.
Told ya. Should've waited till the update actually came out before making that video.
I just hope they do not learn too much from wow and ff14.
Lost ark is hot trash and elden ring doesnt have good combat, prolly it's worst attribute.
