This is a brand new series I'm trying out to give an retrospective analysis on an operator based on CN players' perception on them over the 6 months since their release on CN.

ray seems really neat - on a less optimization focused point, she's the first 6 star cautus operator AND the first 6 star rim billiton operator (if you don't count schwarz), so those niches both got a significant powerup with this patch. looking forward to trying her out, tysm for the video!!

I think a way to accumulate ammo to reduce the issues with ammo depletetion would be to use operators that can sleep enemies (i.e Kafka), as this will give both Coldshot and Ray time to reload while the enemies are slept as they cannot be targeted by them, a pity that most bosses are immune to sleep, but I guess this could be use for tanky elite enemies.
I hadn't thought about how complimentary the sleep mechanic is to Hunters for their ammo. Great suggestions. But you are right, you would normally use Ray to destroy bosses, and they are typically immune to sleep. Oh well, still a great idea to counter their main weakness which is a horde of enemies.
Incredibly informative as always. The fact you also include information from CN's playtime with the operator in addition to a full breakdown is absolutely invaluable.
She’s lots of fun and I like the new “pull priority” analysis you’re doing. It’s much more helpful for newer players than the old way it was done. Appreciate the work you put into these.

Thank you for this super detailed guide! I’ve been going back and forth on whether not to pull for her. Her play style is really unique, but I’ve already built Ceobe and I’d rather save my pulls for Shu. I did one ten pull, but she didn’t come home so it wasn’t meant to be ;-; Operator Hindsight is a really amazing series and always informs my pulls, so thank you!

I really like the change in format for the end of the video. It felt highly reductive just ranking Operators by pull priority, and I think it's something players should decide for themselves using the available information you provided.

The ease-of-usage was not something I even considered before, so thanks for bringing that up. Looking at her kit again, yea, it is quite micro-intensive to get the most out of it unlike Typhon.
Now I know, a bit at least, what to say when ppl are asking in the server's help channel about pulling her.
I'm very worried, that I will leak/operators-killed somewhere in the map.. because my attention were full on Ray hahah.. thats one thing to consider
I was considering getting Ray because of S2 potentials.. but yeah, negative-cycle, as expected from ammo-feature.. thanks for the info (add:holy.. that S3 range.. omg)
I have so much respect for these videos. They are the absolute gold standard of analysis and are extremely well designed and scripted.
There's one thing that prevent us from pulling Ray: Walter. In other words, she was born at the wrong time, wrong moment. The ranks gamepress concluded, on both degen n ray s3, after 6 month of analysis, are revealed to be:
*S3M3 S++ for all 3 major type of content*
For the former, we're not surprised - is a thing, will explain later. But for the latter, she has highest dmg per ammo, and meant to mow down tough elites and chain their legs, as long as no trash mobs waste her ammo
I'd say Typhon also served as a red flag, cuz a lot of people pulled for her. And having both Typhon and Ray is a bit of an overkill.
Also Quibai had this unfortunate luck.
@@BooguyTheAdept This a big part of it for me, Typhon already does a lot of what I'd use Ray for so especially with Wis'adel incoming I'm reluctant to spend rolls on what mostly amounts to a sidegrade.

I love her so much, it's so much fun stacking range manipulation with s3 plus coconut doggy to basically shoot around corners... and the big dmg numbers! lovely.
The pull analysis section is very helpful compared to the previous format. It provides much insight for both early and veteran players!

Counting frame is crazy 😂 I always check hindsight everytime new operator come out
It's cool that he adds this detail even tho it will be useful to very few people and these people will either know it from somewhere else or put it in a frame counter themselves. It gives more depth and it's a part of increasing the average player's skill level, by increasing the interest of potentially more casual players to higher end content, which may not have been likely to take note of such details. It's always a positive in my eyes. 👍

She's a great* operator that is released less than 6 months before a fantastic operator (Ela) and a genuinely game balance breaking operator (Wis'adel).
@@MindayKalanaNot like Ela wasn’t also breaking BN15 IS#4 as well, Walter is just super duper game breaking.
She is a total package. If you are not lucky with W² then she is THE best option.

I think its a good idea to take out the pull chart thing, saw it get copy pasted to reddit every single time out of context because all people think is "tierlist go brr." I think keeping it simple and within the context of the unit's release (both now and how they look in the future) without directly implying power comparisons via numbers on a graph is a great call. Cheers for the video as always mate!
As far as scheduling goes, the only reason as to why they moved Reed rerun is probably to put it in between Shu and Ela banner and avoid back to back limited.
But, whoever came up with this idea is an idiot. It's just messed up schedule and Reed being in that position doesn't make it better for anyone really.

9:25 Ah, so that's why in GT-S-1 if she's deployed facing left, she's unable to push the enemies coming from the right behind her into the holes, I've been wondering about that.

Ray's S3 dps is so insanely busted, with or without sandbeast it still does really well.
IMO Ray is extremely easy to use and very braindead, since her highest ceiling is purely optional due to her insane performance no matter what. The sandbeast can make her hit really weird spots easily, which just adds to her insanity.
Not to mention permabind is great.
For S2 sandbeast might as well be unlimited duration...
Wish you could have gone more in depth with how to use her S2 correctly, otherwise great video!

the only cons about her is 3 limit banners after hers, which 1 of the 3 is SUPER LIMIT banner ._. , and also her module is needed if you want to maximize her dps

While S3 is her best skill, S1 and S2 are perfectly serviceable at E1. She's very newbie friendly.
