      @@BulbinABox isso eu sei, ela é nativa de quase toda a América do Sul, mas ela ocorre com muita incidência aqui tbm, sendo o Brasil parte da América do Sul, aqui eu encontro a espécie selvagem nos barrancos de lugares menos urbanizados, e tem muita gente que não sabe nem que ela é da América do Sul, não sabe nem de onde ela vem, só queria falar uma curiosidade. Aqui ela tem muitos nomes amaryllis, flor da Imperatriz, açucena, tulipa brasileira, entre outros. As pessoas talvez lendo o meu comentário se interessem e pesquisem sobre os lugares de onde ela é nativa, assim podendo dar melhores condições de vida a planta, sabendo como é o habitat natural dela, e podendo dar para ela oque ela recebe na natureza, aqui ela encontra calor(onde eu moro possui uma temperatura muito mais amena que o restante do Brasil), umidade, e solo rico em matéria orgânica, e muito sol.

    What if they have seed pods at the top? Do I still cut 1-2 in above the bulb? Also is it worth it to grow an amaryllis from a seed?

    • @BulbinABox
      @BulbinABox  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are willing to wait it to grow for at least 2-3 years before it blooms, then yes it is worth growing it from seed. If the plant has growing seed pods, you can of course leave them on until they mature (that is if you need the seeds).

    I cut off all the leaf. What should I do for the bulk?

    • @BulbinABox
      @BulbinABox  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Completely, right after blooming finished? In this case I would try to make my plant go green again: put it on a warm and sunny spot and as soon as new leaves emerge - weekly fertilizer! It’s essential that the plant stays green and gets fertilizer for at least 4 months after flowering (best is 6 to 7 months). Only this way you make sure it blooms year after year. Try it, it’s easy!

    My second stalk has started to bloom, the first has already finished, however the leaves are turning yellow and drooping. There's still a little green there in them though. Do I cut them or leave them?

    • @BulbinABox
      @BulbinABox  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ConcreteRoseK Please do not cut the leaves, remove them once they dry out. If the leaves got yellow right after flowering, it’s a sign of overwatering. How often do you water your Hippeastrum?

    • @ConcreteRoseKei
      @ConcreteRoseKei 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bulb in A Box I water them once a week, on Sundays. However I think the amount could have been a little more than usual. Did I ruin it? Thanks for replying by the way.

      ConcreteRoseK It’s a pleasure. Does your pot have a water reservoir at the bottom?

    • @ConcreteRoseKei
      @ConcreteRoseKei 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bulb in A Box It has a drainage hole. I'm not sure if that's the same thing. (Also, it was given as a gift so I'm unaware of what's inside, besides the bulb).

    • @BulbinABox
      @BulbinABox  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ConcreteRoseK Yes, it’s the same thing. I would say water with half the amount of water and do it only if the first 2 cm (1 inch) of soil are dry. If this is less than once a week, then be it. By the way, is it in a bright spot?
