Yeah that real estate episode pushed it over the edge for me. The fact that quagmire helped him fix his teeth and then he decided to scam quagmire and never learned a lesson by the end is just brutal. He’s a terrible character
season 1-3: takes place in a slightly exaggerated world but is still mostly grounded modern fg: its a cartoon lets do whatever the fuck we want, it doesn't have to make sense
The characters in modern Family Guy are literal archetypes of characters you'd find in a YT "Adult Parody" of a piece of media. (I'm looking at you Dorkly) The main character being dumb. The main woman being a diddling addict. The secondary woman being a punching bag. Diddling obsessed friend (Borderline Non-Permission diddler) And we cannot forget the swearing contests.
One of the best moments was brain and stewie talking about suicide or when he tried to give up both his kidneys. The line "I am willing to give up my 8 years so you can have 40 more" it's so heartbreaking without being overly cliche
and then when Stewie was crying about the thought of losing Brain and he told Stewie you can live without a dog but you can't live without a father that was just so sad but real
@@kurtpunchesthings2411in later episodes you can see Brian stepping up for Stewie, one thing I don’t agree with is the Brian serves no purpose, he’s Stewies only adult figure he cares for he’s purpose is to be there for stewie while he can be so that stewie can have a since of care and support in his hectic family. I know he wasn’t good father to he’s own kid and has failed in everything in life but for stewie he tries and I think that is what makes his character so special. Stewie gives Brian purpose and Brian give Stewie stability.
I came up with the idea that the show could have an episode that explains that the reason Brian dates women younger than him is because he lost that old woman. He's afraid that if he dates a woman his age that she'll die before him. It'd be a great premise for an episode but Family Guy doesn't do episodes like that anymore.
Considering Brian is mostly Seth's natural voice, part of me thinks Brian is somewhat reflecting how he feels about the show in a way. Brian's death signifying that he's done now and no longer cares
You summed Family Guy up perfectly in the opening minute alone. Family Guy didn't just drop in quality; it became a different show entirely. The first three seasons, compared to anything that came after, may as well be their own seperate series. A series I miss dearly.
Some fun facts about Brian Griffin: -Brian attended Brown University in Rhode Island, however he failed to graduate. -He drives a Toyota Prius -He is eight years old, which is 56 dog years!
There’s an episode in season 19 where Brian is actually a good guy again. He dates a woman with a kid, and at first doesn’t like him. But quickly they become great friends. When she eventually breaks up with him his main concern is spending time with her kid. Eventually though, he becomes the kids babysitter, and it’s hinted they spend more time together. I hope they do more with this connection, and expand on his relationships outside the family
Except they ruined it at the end where Brian took the money that the kid's mom left so they can order pizza and pocketed it, choosing to feed the kid bread and butter instead
Yeah the writers hate Brian remember that one episode where brain really loves this girl to the point of not even trying to force himself on her and trying to take it slow only for Cleveland to come and steal the same girl?
Brian shouldn't even be dating human girls. The moment he started doing that was around the same time he lost who his character was. Then became the weird pervert we have now.
I've never been quite able to put my finger on it, but I think I finally figured it out: The change for how they wrote Brian's character was a reaction to who he was paired with. When Brian was with Peter, Brian was able to play the straight man, comment or criticize on the theme in order to get Peter back on track, or even make himself look smart in comparison to Peter's stupidity. When Brian got paired with Stewie (which I do feel works better, thematically) Brian wasn't really able to fit those same roles. Stewie was already level-headed, and was over the "Kill Lois" thing for the most part. Stewie was obviously smarter than Brian, so Brian didn't have room to comment or criticize much because of the intelligence gap (insults aren't criticisms). Brian couldn't even keep Stewie on track of whatever the topic was meant to be, because Stewie's entire shtick was counter to what an infant is supposed to be. Stewie goes on adventures, blows things up, time travels, etc. Stewie is the absurd and fantastical; an eccentric dandy with a desire for adventure and mayhem. Peter is (mostly) grounded; a stupid, fat drunk who is easily amused. I suppose Brian can still play the straight man with Stewie, but that's kind of a given!
Brian and Stewie still had some of the greatest scenes together. One of the last great family guy episodes is when Brian and Stewie get locked in the bank.
@@salvadorluna6453 That's so clever! Wish fg writers could get brian and stewie to that point you described instead of making brian a douchebag that taking stewie for granted
Also, isn't Brian's entire existence fucked up? He is both treated as an animal and a person at the same time. Like you could legally put him down if you wanted to and not get any flack for it. It's been shown many times that out of all his siblings, he is the only anthropomorphic one. And whenever there is another anthropomorphic dog on the show, it's always related to him in some way. Whether it's his cousin or his full-on replacement. Also, isn't it weird how he almost only dates humans? Are humanoid dogs just that uncommon in the Family Guy universe? Or just he just have a thing for them? From the top of my head, I can only think of 2 dogs that he's been with. (One anthro and one normal) and over 6 girls (one that he was even able to procreate with!) Shouldn't this be controversial in the Family Guy universe? On one hand, he is as smart and capable but on another, he's still pretty much treated like a normal dog. Where does the person start and the animal stop?
Going into the Quagmire thing where he called Brian out, I believe that's where the show truly jumped the shark, and went to the point of no return. Yes, you could see it earlier than that, as Brian was basically becoming an a-hole with terrible writing for no reason. And yes, what Quagmire said was right about him, even if it was the writers who were basically saying it But the worst part is that: It was Quagmire who said it. If it was someone like Joe, or Cleveland, or even the mustached gay dude who goes "Oh hey!", I would understand. But Quagmire? The same Quagmire who in a S4 Brian episode where he nearly raped a Bachlorette contestant on live TV, then later wanted to sleep in a 3-way with her and HIS MOM!! The same Quagmire that said he wait for his newborn baby girl in 18 years to sleep with her. The same Quagmire who has been straight-up called a "rapist" by Peter. That Quagmire. Again, Brian should've been called out, but not by an even worst character. It's basically has been FG's downfall since, even if that downfall was beginning long before
I always saw him as a hypocrite, not because of the "brian wants to sleep with lois" thing but because of other stuff like critizicing him for not being truthfull when sleeping with women and acting like he is interested in the things they do. Tells him that he doesn't contribute at all in the family (in peter's body) even though he takes care of stewie and even saved him from his parents themselves And worst of all, he hates him because of not being "a man of god", no need to explain why that's the worst possible argument coming from a s. offender
Yeah, that whole rant from Quagmire practically described himself. Brian only became more accurate to it later on but like..Quagmire wants to fuck Lois (and he has fucked Cleveland's wife), he has countless illegitimate children he runs away from and later he gives his daughter up for adoption. Just because he's honest that he dates women for their bodies doesn't make it right, also besides Jillian I can't think of a bimbo Brian went after as he is in love with Lois who is intelligent, an old woman, Chris' intelligent teacher and he was actually in love with Jillian. I also like how Quagmire says Brian doesn't really do anything political wise but like...he got weed legalized and then illegalized and got gay marriage legal in Quahog, no help from the homophobic Quagmire who literally said no. Its really shows the lack of self awarness where the writers thought they were describing Brian (though he got there eventually) when they were describing Quagmire to a T while ignoring the good parts of Brian.
@@LNSO2006 Brian only ever tried sleeping with Lois when he was drunk, which he deeply regretted, and when they all thought Peter died, which was consensual. Quagmire on the other hand still stalks her and tried stealing her away when Peter got amnesia. Quagmire doesn't tell all of the women he sleeps with that he has every STD known to man as shown in one of the Halloween episodes. Like previously mentioned, Brian actually was willing to donate one of his kidneys to Peter even if he would die from it, while Quagmire never bothered to see if he was a match, where he would've lived just fine. Brian may be the worst kind of atheist, but Quagmire is the LAST person who should be involved with any type of religion whatsoever.
Honestly i dont get why people keep saying"at least quagmire's honest with what he does." Like....does admitting you raped a woman make you less terrible than another person who does the same but doesnt admit? Edit- and quagmire did those horriblr things on a much worse extent than brian ever did.
I feel like the episode where Quagmire dresses him down was the real turning point. Like that gag is a pretty standard comedy trope, having someone list a beloved character's flaws/mistakes to reframe them as a dick from certain angles. Except it was like the entire writing staff just agreed with the speech and ran with it. Suddenly the douchebag Quagmire described WAS the character.
The worst part of it to me is that they chose QUAGMIRE to do it, the creep who literally hangs around until a girl turns 18 to bang her. I recall that episode was the one that sealed the deal for me and made me just despise this show.
@@ultimopena I find it weird that was the tipping point for you. They made jokes of him being a kidnapping daterapist who seemingly makes use of human trafficking from the very first run of the show. It took him waiting for a girl to reach the age of consent to convince you?
@@nobodyspecial675 That was the only example I could think of at that time, but did you even read my post? The example I used doesn't matter, the problem is that Quagmire is an unrepentant deviant and that was the point. The fact that an unrepentant pervert is the one who was chosen to chew Brian out was what made me despise family guy. Before that point I just kind of disliked it for it's crude comedy.
@@ultimopena Shit, sorry, I get what you mean now. Yeah, it is kind of a strange choice. I suppose every other character was rapidly hurtling towards reprehensible by that point. Quagmire didn't stand out as being any more antisocial than Peter so why not? Funny how his character paled into relative normalcy over the series now that you mention it.
Everything you say here is why I have to give massive props to the episode 'Boy's Best Friend'. Brian is the most likable he's been in ages here. He stands up to protect a kid and expects nothing in return for it. And when the kid's mother decides she no longer wants to date him, his primary concern is that he'll never get to babysit this kid again. That was a really touching episode. I'm just hoping we get more of that now.
Dude, I totally get the sad ending you gave to this video. In 8th grade I was obsessed with Family Guy and Brian Griffin may have been my favorite character of any show ever. As a lonely kid with autism I actually “wrote letters to” Brian as a form journaling. But as the writers screwed him up over the years and he changed I found myself losing faith in the show and him, to the point that I wrote a final letter “to” Brian explaining why I felt he’d changed for the worst and that I wouldn’t be writing to him anymore. And the weird thing is it’s odd to think I ever loved either him or the show because it now feels like such a foreign concept
I feel like Brian's suffered the same fate as Lisa Simpson. Both were good characters once, but as their respective series dragged on, they morphed into little more than mouthpieces for the writers' political views.
@@TurquoiseStar17 So, we should be promoting a far right ideology that has proven not to work. Why should we agree with people who want to send our people to war to fight Israels wars. Why should we giving tax breaks to the rich while increasing taxes on the poor and middle class? Why do we want the government to force us what to do?
Family Guy started to fall apart for me after season 5. The first 3 seasons were amazing while seasons 4 and 5 were good. I would like to see you do a video on Peter Griffen. He went from a dumb father who loves his family to just overall doofus who neglects his family.
I do think Stewie became a much better character than he was in earlier seasons, but yeah Peter became a much worse and less likeable character over time
Y’know if they ever make a last episode i hope we get a self awareness episode where the family acknowledges that their personalities never used to be this way and try to fix it and find out what’s going on
I have watched a lot of films and for me, when it comes to film 🎥, you have two hours. More often than not. Two hours is the time to tell a good story. A second part amounting to four hours might be a lucky treat. But two hours is the length of a good film. And watching a film is a two hour ritual. It's something I realized a while ago.
I disagree its as funny as ever all the seasons were good except for season 19 ( pacing too slow, lack luster writing, and not enough cutaways) and it still had good episodes.
I think my love for Stewie as a kid helped my love for Brian cuz I think those 2 have the single best relationship in the show. Any episode that focused around those 2 in the earlier seasons I adored
I don’t think brain being stewie’s sidekick over peters is a bad thing, since I think they work better together. Also personally I thought the bank vault episode was great.
The main issue with Brian being Stewies side kick is that it makes his character one dimensional if he can only bounce off one character, rather than several
The italian dog was a good character though, it would've returned into Brian's original role as the family dog, but with a better and funnier personality
Side note: I think the reason why Brian has changed and is the way he is today is because he’s the literal embodiment of the series’ creator, Seth MacFarlane. Not only does he use his normal voice for Brian, but his personality is based off him as well.
tbf he said for his Simpsons vid he tried to cover a season per day, right? If he did the same for family guy he could get it done in a few weeks (though then there’s the matter of actually making the vid lol)
Problem with the show is characters are stupid, mean, and doesn’t grow just for gags and letting the show continue to drag on. Over half of the trouble and scenario the family gets into are caused by their own flaws and stupidity. If the characters grow and fixes their flaw, they wouldn’t be able to drag the show on and on.
I love how after bringing back Brian they end up killing him off again multiple times as a joke. You could even make a whole TH-cam channel of just Brian deaths.
Brian and Stewie is my favorite episode in the entire show because it is the equivalent of the writing prompt - what do you get when you put two characters in a box with no windows and no doors and let them do?
The whole reason all the characters become more cynical and violent was that Seth MacFarlane wanted to end the show ages ago, but Fox wanted it to keep going so in response Seth made the show and characters basically assholes
So a similar case to Fairly Oddparents (making characters slowly disappear and pulling in unlikable ones as a replacement) and Spongebob (Seasons 5-8 were essentially the show getting worse until Season 9 where they accepted the show’s fate and made it more like the original 3 seasons)
I agree with you about the change of Brian. I stopped watching Family Guy because the writer's started to change a good chunk of the character's to make a joke, especially their origins. Joe was one of my favorite characters, though they changed him when they revealed the "real" reason he lost his legs (the incident with The Grinch was a cover up) which I think was just....stupid.
I can’t watch this show. I haven’t in a long time. The characters all became flanderized to the point where everyone is insufferable to watch. The only time I cared about a recent episode was the one where Meg finally defends herself and calls everyone out on their bs.
@Arnold Tatis-Algarin This episode pissed me off the most as someone who grew up with abusive parents. Like, what kind of message were they trying to send?
I agree. Though there were some pretty impressive moments when Family Guy got together with The Simpsons.🤣🤣 Makes me wonder what kind of laughter (or sheer boring horror???) could be produced if Family Guy teamed up with King Of The Hill, Beavis and Butt-Head, or even South Park?
Old Brian was practically an obsession for me. His nonchalant based attitude shaped me. Turning him into a tone deaf liberal was like having acid sprayed in my face.
I always saw Brian as Seth's self insert. Once Seth got bored of the show and left, they rest of the writers started using him as the whipping boy to spite Seth. I would guess that Seth is kind of a shitty boss/bad person so the writer's room stopped playing nice once Seth was no longer directly involved in the show
@@Bottomgear5780 I agree with this more because whil Aldriko has an interesting idea… Seth isn’t a bad person or a bad boss (bad boss is slightly more argumentative)
We can’t really make speculations with that though, since characters in long running sitcoms, even if they appear to be one-note superficially, have a lot of nuance deep inside. I think it was just seasonal rot and a lack of direction.
17:17 Don't forget that Brian also infantilized Quagmire in that episode and treated him like a child when he clearly did not wanna be treated as such.
No he absolutely did not. He does have good moments, sure, but those good moments are heavily interrupted by the 5000th gay joke of the week. His mellowing down is not "growing up" as many claim for him, it's just that extreme flanderization worked out well for him because babies aren't supposed to have a personality and Stewie has the trump card of "genius" as his personality trait, which allows him to feel deeper than Brian in the newer seasons. Tl;dr Stewie got lucky with bad writing.
@I stole your house anyway- I know that you meant to say "vile" instead of "vial", but that is the perfect setup for a classic 2024 meme that corpos in the 2030s will drive into the fuxking ground. Example: "Me and the bois when (Insert picture of Lois Griffin printed onto a cup with no other context) when L O I S C U P."
The fact that the show got cancelled after its first three seasons probably was one of the biggest factors for the writing's slippery trip downhill in terms of quality.
The funny thing was when the show came back in 2005, Seth MacFarlane (I think it was him, but it could have been another writer) actually said. "I'm actually ok that we got cancelled, it gave us all a break from the show for a year and helped us prevent writing fatigue."
Brian was often the voice of reason, but evolved into an actual character that had his own issues. That was beautiful. After Seth left, the show started a slow and painful decline that has left it hard, if not impossible to watch as of more recently. Doesn't help that nearly every episode has super in your face social, religious or political commentary, or some combination of the three.
That’s a bad thing? Oh hell no, he should have stayed dead and not been brought back even if he was replaced by a Italian stereotype at least I didn’t see him give a baby herpes, use his son for his own fame, call a girl ugly because she has a flat chest and is stuck in a shitty family, tries to bang his best friend wife, tried to date Meg’s more than likely underaged friend, etc.
Once I heard the summary at the end, I felt a mild wave of sadness because despite it being a cartoon dog, I think so many of us can relate to what he feels.
Brain nowadays just feels like Tibbitt-era Squidward but if he was a jerk. They both get the short end of the stick, and I only feel bad for one of them.
"Brian Writes a Bestseller" is where my interest fell off for him. For the first 3 seasons, (and for a majority of Seasons 4 and 5), Brian was a great character. While Season 6 was a turning point for Brian's character (in a bad way), he still was decent for the most part. But him lashing out on Stewie, (S9 E6) is where all the respect for his character was just thrown away. Every episode after that is just a steady downfall of his character.
I find it incredibly dumb that Brian gets so worked up over Stewie and starts hating him solely because of a restaurant seat in the episode “Brian Writes a Bestseller”.
I remember when I first watched that episode, it felt so out of character for Brian to act that way towards Stevie or anyone else. But you’re right, that was the transition for Brian to go downhill.
I kinda agree, he sucked in that episode but I felt like he was still had episodes were he was likeable such as "New Kidney in Town". He got worse and worse overtime until season 12 is when he was just bad like the rest of the show.
He was hilarious that episode. Am I the only one that thinks Brian’s more funny now. Ya sure he’s often a douche bag but it’s funny and a lot of times relatable. This is a comedy show after all the show is literally a joke Brian doesn’t need to be some complex deep character none of them do

3:30 Godly example of flanderizing a character seriously Shadow went from a character with actual motives, personality and friends to this angry, edgy husk of what he was.
Shadow from STH wasn't THAT bad, by the end of the game he becomes really good and learns to let go of the past, and after that, 06 happens and only improves his character even more, he is nice to sonic and all his other friends and he no longer looks back, infact he doesn't even blame omega after being told that it is him that will capture shadow in the future
@@superhydra8873 I agree, though I was more so talking about the 2010's depiction of Shadow we have now. He's arrogant and overly competitive, and apparently Sega mandates don't even allow him to have friends, meaning that Rogue and Omega are apparently nothing more than just business partners. I long for what he was like in 06.
Something that should be mentioned is the writer of the show said that Brian is based off of him (depression, struggles with women, struggle to find purpose). That’s why his voice isn’t edited, it’s the writer’s regular voice. They threw that down the drain over the years
Probably because he was the most realistic out of all the main characters. The other griffins all had their sense of overly cartoony personalities but brain was always written more like a real person.
Not really The Biggest changes are Joe, Stewie, and Brain. Stewie mellowed out because they ran out of ways for him to try to kill Lois and got bored, Brain went from voice of reason to pseudointellectual. Joe started out as admired by the town then they ran out of ways to make an inherently positive character funny so they fell back on cripple jokes. Everyone else stayed pretty much the same. In later seasons Meg is the best Meg. Season 4- present Meg. Before she was kinda bratty and whiny. Now she is more stoic, depressed, and morose, and is one of the smartest characters on that show. Peter is exactly the same, Lois is the same but she got more short-tempered. Her temper is almost always justified though,
@@icecreamhero2375 she also got more hypocritical, slutty, and selfish Peter just became even more of a dumbass and hella abusive towards Meg Chris been stupid Stewie was the only one with any real decent change. Meg went from typical high school girl to the butt monkey of almost everyone’s jokes…..enough said on how much I despise the butt monkey joke
The story of Brian Griffin truly is tragic, and it gets even more sad when I think Brain Griffin represents the embodiment of Seth MacFarlane in the show, who some have stated can also come off sometimes as selfish and an asshole. It kind of feels like in a way, Seth MacFarlane and his relationship with the Family Guy show and the fanbase is going downhill along with Brian's character
Well, if they got some writers who gave a fuck about the original characters they could even have Brian return to therapy and basically just use that to slowly turn him back into the most likeable character in the family. Make it a season long arc, idk. I want to like Brian again. It's not going to happen, but I can dream.
this was an interesting take. i only started really getting into Family Guy after the characters were all Flanderized, so I liked that they were just shallow archetypes, and saw the show more of a sketch comedy like SNL, where the characters were all just in-universe actors(plus they did so many 4th-wall breaks it was easy to see them that way). I saw the show's theme song as purely ironic, given that most of the eps of FG i saw were full of sex and violence, and definitely some edgy fucked up humour. Brian was always a hypocritical asshole to me, but I liked that he sometimes acted like a real dog. He's always been paired up with Stewie as far as I knew him, so seeing him no longer be Peter's best friend didn't phase me much. Plus, Peter's a way more horrible person if we're gonna take him seriously, so Brian being a dick isn't nearly as bad haha.
Clarification: Brian didn’t “get with” Carter’s dog, he “forced himself” onto her. Also, did you pay attention in the Brian and Stewie episode? Stewie explains why he made Brian do it, it wasn’t supposed to be a joke
Tbh I always hated Screwed The Pooch and I don't get why Mark lauds it. It was just another example of Brian being a dick only this time, everyone defended him. A big point of the episode was him having sexual urges and Lois trying to reassure him that there was nothing wrong with him, and they resolve it by having him... do something wrong and get away with it? Of all the ways they could have tried to make the audience sympathise with a character's struggle that many people can relate to, they chose that?
That's not the way a dog going in heat works. A dog in heat doesn't need to be forced, she's already willing, extremely willing, to fuck anything that moves. Hence why if you pet your buddy's dog who's in heat, she'll turn her butt to you and curl her tail.
I love the first 3 seasons so much..... When Peter was the Family guy, Stewie was evil genius, Chris was naively dumb, and Meg was a normal girl, and Lois was a slightly Watch it bub wife who actually loved her husband, and Brian was a chill intellectual who loved booze and cigs and cared about the family a little. Not anymore.
I HAVE to disagree about Brian being good for Quagmires mom, it looked to me like he was just taking advantage of the change in social climate to get at quagmire.
Honestly every single one of the family members deserve the same fate as meg, they have become soo unlikable it's annoying to even watch the new seasons

You summed Family Guy up perfectly in the opening minute alone. Family Guy didn't just drop in quality; it became a different show entirely. The first three seasons, compared to anything that came after, may as well be their own seperate series. A series I miss dearly.
Some fun facts about Brian Griffin:
-Brian attended Brown University in Rhode Island, however he failed to graduate.
-He drives a Toyota Prius
-He is eight years old, which is 56 dog years!

Another fun fact: family guy constantly contradicts set facts about their characters.

That makes so much sense!!!
Brian and Stewie still had some of the greatest scenes together. One of the last great family guy episodes is when Brian and Stewie get locked in the bank.

And yes, what Quagmire said was right about him, even if it was the writers who were basically saying it
But the worst part is that: It was Quagmire who said it.
It's basically has been FG's downfall since, even if that downfall was beginning long before
I always saw him as a hypocrite, not because of the "brian wants to sleep with lois" thing but because of other stuff
like critizicing him for not being truthfull when sleeping with women and acting like he is interested in the things they do.
Tells him that he doesn't contribute at all in the family (in peter's body) even though he takes care of stewie and even saved him from his parents themselves
And worst of all, he hates him because of not being "a man of god", no need to explain why that's the worst possible argument coming from a s.
@@aeroscantsee1665 Brian may be an asshole, but Quagmire should be in prison.
Best comment I’ve seen describing the phenomenon.

Hello Vortex
I kinda agree, he sucked in that episode but I felt like he was still had episodes were he was likeable such as "New Kidney in Town". He got worse and worse overtime until season 12 is when he was just bad like the rest of the show.
He was hilarious that episode. Am I the only one that thinks Brian’s more funny now. Ya sure he’s often a douche bag but it’s funny and a lot of times relatable. This is a comedy show after all the show is literally a joke Brian doesn’t need to be some complex deep character none of them do
Brian used to be such a likable character. Sucks they did him dirty.
Everyone in this show used to be, before they got screwed up.
@@PlahaKumar I actually think Stewie is still okay

Godly example of flanderizing a character seriously Shadow went from a character with actual motives, personality and friends to this angry, edgy husk of what he was.
I guess you could say he became a SHADOW of his former self. (th-cam.com/video/g-4-gLlF0uw/w-d-xo.html)

They threw that down the drain over the years
Interesting if true. Sure as shit provided ME with some damn good laughs over the years!
9:24 made me want to throw tea into the harbor again
Brian was downgraded like every other character but for some reason his feels worse
Because he was actually decent at one point
He started higher, I think
Her temper is almost always justified though,
@@icecreamhero2375 she also got more hypocritical, slutty, and selfish
Peter just became even more of a dumbass and hella abusive towards Meg
Chris been stupid
Stewie was the only one with any real decent change.
Meg went from typical high school girl to the butt monkey of almost everyone’s jokes…..enough said on how much I despise the butt monkey joke

I didn't know LS Mark made an episode of modern Family Guy. Fox should hire him.

Hello Ray
👋Hi @@Oppistan. How's your day going?
Brian was Frasier in a dog's body but now he's Charlie Sheen in a dog's body
The story of Brian Griffin truly is tragic, and it gets even more sad when I think Brain Griffin represents the embodiment of Seth MacFarlane in the show, who some have stated can also come off sometimes as selfish and an asshole. It kind of feels like in a way, Seth MacFarlane and his relationship with the Family Guy show and the fanbase is going downhill along with Brian's character
Old Brian Griffin: Voice of reason!
Modern Brian Griffin: Voice of stupidity!
new brian giffin: mamungababunga
Massachusetts is definitely a state not a city 9:28
Well, if they got some writers who gave a fuck about the original characters they could even have Brian return to therapy and basically just use that to slowly turn him back into the most likeable character in the family. Make it a season long arc, idk. I want to like Brian again. It's not going to happen, but I can dream.
Hello sargen
I can see that happening
this was an interesting take. i only started really getting into Family Guy after the characters were all Flanderized, so I liked that they were just shallow archetypes, and saw the show more of a sketch comedy like SNL, where the characters were all just in-universe actors(plus they did so many 4th-wall breaks it was easy to see them that way).
I thought the same thing! I like the fact that it is nonsense, but I do miss the old ones with heart
Clarification: Brian didn’t “get with” Carter’s dog, he “forced himself” onto her. Also, did you pay attention in the Brian and Stewie episode? Stewie explains why he made Brian do it, it wasn’t supposed to be a joke
Thats what dog do tho
Hello Time
Tbh I always hated Screwed The Pooch and I don't get why Mark lauds it.
@@boogit9979 Human do it too but they go to jail for that.
Why is dog allowed to do it even though he act like human?

but i like that show
I don't understand but I liked anyway.
Agree except Stewie. He is better now. Him always trying to kill his mom was stupid
The characters were so different back in the day. Makes me wonder if they’re even the same people.
"The loveable family dog"
Bro the whole point of Brian's character is that he's completely unlovable.
Can’t wait for the family guy ranking!
"He just sits around the house being an alcoholic and smoking weed" well shit, didn't realise you were trying to make me like the guy
Hello stoned
I HAVE to disagree about Brian being good for Quagmires mom, it looked to me like he was just taking advantage of the change in social climate to get at quagmire.
the difference between Brian and Meg is that Brian deserves it
Because the writers changed him to be that way?
