Here's my take on the canon Season 1-8= main timeline Live action movies = alternate universe Season 9 = alternate timeline Season 10 = badly written self insert fanfiction, written by someone who hates the Fairly Oddparents
The ending to the last movie is actually thoroughly depressing when you really think about it. Timmy being a fairy means he can never directly be with his family or friends again. Everyone he knows kinda just has to assume he's dead now. And since Timmy's essentially immortal now, he has to watch everyone he's ever known and cared about die. On top of all that, since he's a fairy and also a kid forever, he can't be with Tootie. Timmy's just been condemned to a sad, lonely eternity.
That is actually really depressing there.And you can only imagine what Jimmy would say if they met again and he was like that. Likely assuming its just another hologram of some kind. What can I say? Jimmy Timmy pour hours one of my favs.

i stand by the fact that they refused to put doug dimmadome in the movie is they didnt have the budget to animate a neverendingly tall hat into every scene he was in. though they missed the chance to show him standing on stage at the park with a 10 mile tall hat on ...would have been the best joke in the film

These Fairly OddParents live-action movies contradict the show in a number of ways. For example, Santa's workshop in "Christmas Everyday!" is completely different then the way it appears in A Fairly Odd Christmas.
I've always felt bad for Daniella. Nickelodeon used her for basically anything they could get their hands on, so no matter what, people will often see her and think of Nickelodeon, just like how the MCU cast will forever be recognized as Marvel characters

I remember watching a fairy odd Christmas sitting with food poisoning puking Kentucky Fried Chicken into a bucket, so that’s about all I remember. Accurate.
They really had an opportunity to flesh out Tootie more past "the annoying girl with an obsession with Timmy", but decided to just make her "the Ms. Perfect love interest" that you see in every romantic comedy. They really could've had a plotline that explored her relationship with Vicky and how she could only begin to build up her confidence after she moved out of town, but even just running into her sister instantly breaks it all down. That could've been interesting. Every time Timmy was more sympathetic to Tootie in the show, it was because he saw how she was treated by Vicky every day.
I remember Nickelodeon hyping up the Fairly Odd Summer movie with “an ending you wouldn’t believe”. I guess they were right, but the problem that the ending was, you know, really bad.
even as a kid it felt like the end of Channel Chasers had a series end feel to it. i think i might have even thought at one point that it was the series finale. i'm so glad it is and more than a decade of bad creative choices never happened :)

I gotta throw my own thought of this outta here. I absolutely HATE the fact that they made Tootie this "hot chick". It feels like a completely different character and the fact that Timmy NOW SUDDENLY falls in love with her is the most superficial crap ever and that in a kid's movie. Tootie was much more of a Trixie in this.
It would've made far more sense for Timmy to have fallen for Vicky, only because she had to watch him (I'd say) every week for years!... I say years because I think Vicky refused to grow up as much as Timmy did and somehow is still babysitting Timmy after 13+ years. The crazier aspect of that? Well, I see Vicky's parents throwing her out upon her turning 18 and she moves in with the Turners, making her Timmy's sitter 24/7 .... by the time Timmy's 23 (as in the first film), he and Vicky still do the same stuff they did in the cartoons, but they've been sleeping together every night for years! The way they've treated each other, they deserved each other. 😆
Yes. That bothered me so much when it came out. The lazy "love at first sight because shes hot now" is so in-line with live action Nickolodeon (I mean all relationships in iCarly are this in a nutshell), but much less that the character she is here, wasn't Tootie whatsoever, nothing. Not personality, not in looks, not character. Nothing. They just did no effort on having Danelle Monet be a character, even though she could have pulled it off with her former character as Trina. Instead they just made her exactly as herself and just showcasted her as being "hotter" now and, somehow also perfectly atheletic. Even though it would have been much more intersting for her to be a college version of herself. Hyperactive, maybe obsessed over getting to see Timmy again after so long, a womanchild with the same preppy school uniform. Then give Timmy some in-character closure for it. She could have been the reason Timmy decides to grow up, because she wants to date him or something but all he knows is how to be a kid, who still thinks girls are icky outside of Trixie (in his 20s). And if Tootie was going to be an activist by then, they could have parodied one with her loud and emotional personality. Nope. For some reason they just didn't bother to do anything with the character and made her a hot girl-sue, while also, for whatever reason Vicky and her don't even get acknowledged as sisters in it (and its not mentioned as intentionally or anything.)
I love how Fairy Timmy is just a Cosmo recolor. That budget. It's also worth noting that the director's previous work includes hands down, the greatest TV show ever made...Zeke and Luther. If that's not a seal of quality, I don't know what is.
I remember I was 10 years old when this movie came out and I saw the commercial and I was super hyped and now I am 18 years old and I haven’t seen this movie since they first aired
You know...the idea of a grown man still going to school and hanging out with the kids there was already kind of creepy at the time... But given...erm...recent developments involving Drake Bell... Hoo *boy* have those scenes not aged well.
I never liked the movies. Major one is that, for me, Channel Chasers was my "this is how the show ends" for me. Maybe not the end end as i did enjoy the show after, but it felt like the best ending for Timmy being a God Kid. These movies, however, ruin it by making Timmy immature in the wrong ways. I know they are a loving family, but Timmy acting like a child and still going to school just feels wrong.
Rose and crcoghill, Channel Chasers and School’s Out The Musical seemed more like the series finale in movie forms then any of the other animated films/live action movies of Fairly Odd Parents.

Even if the movies aren't canon, the ending to the third one is still a complete slap in the face! Turning him into a kid forever, going against the message in the previous movies and some of the show's episodes about the importance of growing up?! And *after* he has married?! How is that going to work out?! Actually, why couldn't he remain an adult only tiny and CGI, like Cosmo & Wanda?! To be fair, this wasn't the first time we saw this kind of nonsense. Look at CHANNEL CHASERS. I mean, a child was given magical beings as an escape from the real world due to an abusive babysitter, neglectful parents, etc. He didn't improve his life on purpose just so he could hold on to what's essentially his coping method.
The only thing I disagree with us the sound effect thing. Ned's Declassified and Big Time Rush show that the sound effect direction can work and be funny. Other than that spot on video.

The movies were my least favorite part of the show. Im not even kidding but I actually forgot it that was an adult Timmy Turner. He felt so different from the cartoon one that it just doesn’t even feel like him. The CGI Cosmo, Wanda, and Poof always frightened me.

Actually SpongeBob introduced Spot, Plankton's pet in season 9. He's more of a recurring character though rather than a main one, ironically most of the fandom (me included) seems to like him.

even as a kid it felt like the end of Channel Chasers had a series end feel to it. i think i might have even thought at one point that it was the series finale. i'm so glad it is and more than a decade of bad creative choices never happened :)

I gotta throw my own thought of this outta here. I absolutely HATE the fact that they made Tootie this "hot chick". It feels like a completely different character and the fact that Timmy NOW SUDDENLY falls in love with her is the most superficial crap ever and that in a kid's movie. Tootie was much more of a Trixie in this.

It would've made far more sense for Timmy to have fallen for Vicky, only because she had to watch him (I'd say) every week for years!... I say years because I think Vicky refused to grow up as much as Timmy did and somehow is still babysitting Timmy after 13+ years. The crazier aspect of that? Well, I see Vicky's parents throwing her out upon her turning 18 and she moves in with the Turners, making her Timmy's sitter 24/7 .... by the time Timmy's 23 (as in the first film), he and Vicky still do the same stuff they did in the cartoons, but they've been sleeping together every night for years! The way they've treated each other, they deserved each other. 😆

Yes. That bothered me so much when it came out. The lazy "love at first sight because shes hot now" is so in-line with live action Nickolodeon (I mean all relationships in iCarly are this in a nutshell), but much less that the character she is here, wasn't Tootie whatsoever, nothing. Not personality, not in looks, not character. Nothing. They just did no effort on having Danelle Monet be a character, even though she could have pulled it off with her former character as Trina. Instead they just made her exactly as herself and just showcasted her as being "hotter" now and, somehow also perfectly atheletic.
Even though it would have been much more intersting for her to be a college version of herself. Hyperactive, maybe obsessed over getting to see Timmy again after so long, a womanchild with the same preppy school uniform. Then give Timmy some in-character closure for it. She could have been the reason Timmy decides to grow up, because she wants to date him or something but all he knows is how to be a kid, who still thinks girls are icky outside of Trixie (in his 20s).
And if Tootie was going to be an activist by then, they could have parodied one with her loud and emotional personality. Nope. For some reason they just didn't bother to do anything with the character and made her a hot girl-sue, while also, for whatever reason Vicky and her don't even get acknowledged as sisters in it (and its not mentioned as intentionally or anything.)
This is so sad, Mark used to be able to stand in his videos, now he's forever stuck to a chair

I never liked the movies. Major one is that, for me, Channel Chasers was my "this is how the show ends" for me. Maybe not the end end as i did enjoy the show after, but it felt like the best ending for Timmy being a God Kid.
These movies, however, ruin it by making Timmy immature in the wrong ways. I know they are a loving family, but Timmy acting like a child and still going to school just feels wrong.

Fairly Odd Parents and Spongebob had MANY "finales", but they were so popular Nickelodeon ordered more episodes. I think FOP ended, but SB is still going. Unsure though.
Sly Reborn, Fairly OddParents ended for good finally, but Spongebob is still going even after the original creator died of ALS recently.

Even if the movies aren't canon, the ending to the third one is still a complete slap in the face! Turning him into a kid forever, going against the message in the previous movies and some of the show's episodes about the importance of growing up?! And *after* he has married?! How is that going to work out?! Actually, why couldn't he remain an adult only tiny and CGI, like Cosmo & Wanda?!
To be fair, this wasn't the first time we saw this kind of nonsense. Look at CHANNEL CHASERS. I mean, a child was given magical beings as an escape from the real world due to an abusive babysitter, neglectful parents, etc. He didn't improve his life on purpose just so he could hold on to what's essentially his coping method.

The movies were my least favorite part of the show. Im not even kidding but I actually forgot it that was an adult Timmy Turner. He felt so different from the cartoon one that it just doesn’t even feel like him. The CGI Cosmo, Wanda, and Poof always frightened me.
