The best kind of humor is those people who make a joke with a serious attitude without laughing and finally smile a little, but their humor is strong.
Essentially dry humour, then ? I'd recommend you give "Cunk on Earth" a watch then, it's a mockumentary with tons of amazing dry humour from Diane Morgan who plays the character Philomena Cunk.
Stephen Wright
Makes the most hilarious and shocking joke in history stone faced and the most serious tone, then allows the slightest of smirks to sneak into in their expression right at the end.
That is dead pan humor, which can sometimes be dry humor. All dry humor tends to be dead pan humor, but not all dead pan humor is dry humor.

Its a pain combining Dry humor and Sarcasm when people genuinenly think youre serious.
Because you're negating your own joke... Since sarcasm is conveyed through tone of voice, expression, etc, while dry humor is the lack of those.

@@sweetgirl070707 It works if people know you well, since sarcasm is also conveyed through context too, which the video mentioned. If someone knows I'm allergic to peanuts and I say I'm craving a pb&j, they should know I'm joking even if I say it in a serious tone.

Fun Trivia:
"Slapstick" was so dubbed in the era of silent shorts, when such films would be accompanied by live music (anything from a single pianist to a full orchestra) and, sometimes, by foley (sound effect) performers. The most common foley used for when someone got smacked on-screen was literally either a pair of flat sticks slapped together or just one slapped against a cushion or other such object. Films which featured a lot of 'abusive' physical comedy involved a lot of stick slapping - hence, becoming known as "slap-stick".
Is there anywhere I can watch a silent movie today?
@ChiefMakes There’s silent movies on TH-cam
@@ChiefMakes The only one I know of is the Organ Loft (aka Edison Theater) in Salt Lake City, but I'm sure there are more all over the place.

Toilet/Potty/Scatological Humor: An easy form of comedy, usually targeted at children, where people use humor related to bathrooms and bodily functions regarding feces and other functions that are considered taboo. This form of humor is extremely common in comedy, however it is often seen as a cheap form of humor that requires little to no effort to utilize. Properly implemented humor can be extremely effective for your audience however, compared to frequent usage without any proper setup.
I personally see that as a subsection of green

Really bad jokers use it.
isn't "black humor" more commonly referred to as dark humor?
I believe it can also be called African-American humor. However, this is not to be confused with African humor.
Also I screenshot ur pfp
@franciasii2435 noo, give it back
@franciasii2435 exactly. If someone started to talk about black humor, I would think about jokes from black twitter or sum.
No, it's called black humour before Americans started the whole racial division twitter thing. It doesn't have to do with skin.
I believe they are 2 separate things. Black humor is more tasteful and tries to lighten the mood, when dark humor is strictly trying to be offensive. For example if we were talking about 9/11, black humor could be about how someone was having a bad day during the tragedy, while dark humor could be about how jumpers raced to the bottom.
The picture of the tiger during the surreal part made me laugh too hard. I finally have a term for modern internet humour.

YESSS SATIRE HUMOR SUPREMACY
0:25 I have a “shaggy dog story” style story right here:
A guy’s car broke down in front of a monastery. He asked the monks if he could stay the night. They invited him in, giving him food, water, shelter, and they even fixed his car. During the night, he heard a strange noise. He asked about it and they said “I can’t tell you, because you’re not a monk”. 1 year later exactly, he broke down in front of that same monastery. He was given food, water, shelter, and they even fixed his car. During the night, he heard that noise again. He asked about it, to which the monks replied “I can’t tell you because you’re not a monk. He then asks, what do i need to do to become a monk? They reply that he has to count every grain of sand on earth, and every blade of grass. He sets off on his journey, counting grain by grain, blade by blade until finally, after 60 years, he has his count. “I have counted every grain of sand, and every blade of grass. There are 1835635 grains of sand and 3573425618 blades of grass. I am ready to become a monk”. The monks say “Congratulations, you are now a monk!”. “What was the noise that I heard, back when i first visited?” The man asked. They said “The answer is right behind this door.” The man tried opening the large golden door but it was locked. “Very funny, can i have the key?”. “Very well then.” the monk replied. Behind it was a silver door, and the man asked for a key to that one. There was then an amethyst door, a bronze door, a topaz door, a glass door, a wooden door and finally an emerald door. He opened it and he saw the source of the noise. You might want to know the source of the noise now, right? Well i can’t tell you, because you’re not a monk.

"There are only three forms of comedy: the comedy of repetition, the comedy of repetition, and the comedy of repetition." (source unknown).
The best joke I've ever heard was only funny to me because I misunderstood it as a child:
"Why can't penguins fly? Because they are chocolate biscuits."
I thought the joke was in the non-sequitur. It was hysterical to my 6- or 7-year-old self (ok fine maybe to my current self as well) that such an obviously untrue fact was given as the reason for penguins' lack of flight😅. Pure silliness!
The joke was actually a pun ("Penguins" are a brand of chocolate bar/biscuit in the UK) but it went right over my head. What's staggering about my level of brainfart there is that Penguin bars are known for having jokes on the wrapper, and that's where I came across this one. I was holding a Penguin chocolate biscuit in my hand and still managed to miss the pun lol
Why don’t polar bears eat penguins?
They can’t peel the wrapper off.
Brainfart. Unexoectrd
I think a much more popular example of anti-humor/anti-jokes is "why did the chicken cross the road?"
That's not an anti joke, it's a pun. "The other side" is not referring to the other side of the street, but implying that the chicken will die in attempting it.
@@Matthew-xo2mh But the original joke is literally just about the other side of the street. The whole point of the joke is that you expect a punchline but there isn't one
@@theemraldwolf5874 "the other side" is a euphemism for "the afterlife". It's not a good joke, but it is a joke. I was a grown adult before I ever realised it haha

Anti-humour gets me every single time.
The jokes make absolutely no sense and you mostly laugh at how stupid and absurd the context is:
"I always keep a £5 bill in my right shoe for emergency purposes. It took a while, but I finally found myself in a pickle and needed to use the £5. When I pulled it out of my sock, it was completely blank - friction and sweat had wiped it clean! The cashier couldn't accept it."
😂🤣
A duck walks into a pharmacy. He approaches the pharmacist at the counter and says, "I need some ointment for this rash on my beak." The pharmacist replies, "Sorry, we don't have medicine for ducks here."
"Knock-knock!"
"Come in!"
A man walks into a bar. He orders a drink and stays late. Next day he does the same. And the day after. And again and again until his life is destroyed by alcoholism.
"What do you call a Jamaican plumber?"
"A plumber."
A man is dining at a restaurant. He dips his finger into a dish of sour cream and licks it. The waiter notices and says "Sir! You can't dip your fingers in the sour cream!" He replies "I'm sorry I thought it was mayonnaise!"
First example of grotesque humor that comes to mind is Flapjack
