Shows how dual clutch vs single clutch transmission almost entirely makes up difference in horsepower in terms of drag races
This was actually more impressive for the single clutch SVJ. While bogging and struggling for traction upon launch, regardless of transmission disadvantages, it has enough power to muscle through a victory.
@@danmyers9372 Nah, the 14 aventador sounded like that, but this refined SVJ was pretty seamless. For a single clutch, that thing was moving!
The main problem with the SVJ SCT is that every time it shifts, it's RPM falls like crazy & it has to climb up back again & beyond. Brooks had even shown it with a graph in one of his previous vids. If that didn't happen, it would be a 9 sec car. The new Sian & Countach with their little hybrid supercapacitor assist, reduced that backtracking to a certain extent. Someone should drag race one of those cars..
@paulantony4598 The SVJ is great in its own ways. It was developed way before the new Sian and Countach. There's nothing wrong with the car. The SCT was built to give the driver a more race car feel. It's what gives it its character. Even to this day, it's top 5 on the nurburgring.
That's because a single clutch is basically very similar to how an actual manual transmission works

Not quite. The SVJ was bogging on every run. If the SVJ had good rubber on, then it would have been a much larger gap. The 1.9 60 roll out is trash for an AWD car.

When the SVJ first came out I didn't like it. I couldn't wrap my head around how radical it looked. But now if I was in the market for a Lambo I wouldn't settle for anything less. Thx Brooks for sharing.

That was super exciting! Not gonna lie, I'm totally on Team SVJ and was hoping it was going to emerge victorious. I don't care how fast or slow the SVJ is... that car is incredibly sexy and I'd take that over ANY Super or Hyper car! It has the look and the incredible sound that will raise anyone's heart rate!

Great video Brooks. Since I own both the STO and SVJ63R, I can say even if the Huracan would have been faster the SVJs sound and presence is hard to beat let alone match.
I thought the Aventador would lose due to that horrible Single Clutch , but the driver made the difference
The SVJ, apart from the latest model countach, was given a rather refined version of said single clutch. They're not as bad as the early model Aventador.

I own a tecnica as well. I think it is a very complete car. More complete than STO. I love it and would probably keep it for a while
The single clutch holds it back so much, you can see it drop back every shift during the 3rd race. SVJ is still the faster car, trap speed wise. But for the price difference, the technica did very well. Interesting to see how the Revuelto will perform

Thing is once that svj gets deep into a straight line race few cars can beat it. It does have a 220 mph top speed.

In the first race the car had no traction issues
It needs better tires but on asphalt not prepped surface
Might sound funny that a car is faster on asphalt vs prepped track but check some times and runs
@@alim7502I rarely see Aventador did a great time on prepared surface it usually do like high 10 or low 11 but on asphalt 10.6 and below is achievable

I really thought the SVJ with AWD would have been a lot better off the line, not worth double the cost compared to others.

You gotta remember the svj is single clutch the technica is double thats why its so close in a straight line. On track the svj is demolishing the huracan. Sounds alot better too and far more better looking. Hence why it's much more pricey.

Now that is what the C8 Z06 couldn't do against the Tecnica. But the Z06 is down about 100hp to the SVJ. Oh...but then the Z06 is still lighter.
Z06 isn't really a straight line king. It can still guarantee mid to high 10 second runs for a fraction of the price.

@Shiftheads I would rather go 991.2 GT2RS, but your point makes sense. All in all, tho, the turbo s is lack luster in comparison to the Lambos, granted it's quiet nature. If your only concern is a few tenths of a second on the track, then it's a W going turbo s, but there's nothing like driving an SVJ.

The Revuelto will really put the SVJ to shame. The SVJ is just so old technology wise. That gear box is just brutal and not reliable. I really think Aventador resell prices will decline once the Revuelto is out. Now is the time to sell that SVJ.
Can't put a predecessor of the same manufacturer to shame. Plus, the SVJ is like the 5th fastest car around the nurburgring. The revuelto has got some big shoes to fill. The SVJ was designed for the track.

The only thing Huracan owners can be happy about in a drag race with the daddy Lamborghini is that, they might just have a chance in the drag race bcoz they have a dual clutch advantage. For people who say gearbox doesn't matter, well Aventador's gearbox is the reason why it loses in some races and timings r not that 'level' good
