Hi I have the exact same fryer. I don't know how to test the continuity with my multimeter. Blue is negative, I assume but the cables are coated, so just check on the metal end? Or do I need to get to the wires inside? What setting on the multimeter omega or V2000? Mine doesn't have the beeper. Which places should I test and what reading would be normal? Thanks🙏
Thank you for your questions. I would like first for you to be very familiar with your multimeter. There are very good videos on how to read multimeters it would be very unusual if you don’t have a Continuity setting on your multimeter, so I want you to be very comfortable with it or you might get hurt so please be careful. That being said the first thing you want to test is the voltage coming out of the cord so where the two wires come into the unit do you want to test them metal pieces if you have 120 V coming from your wire than your wire is good The rest you’re going to need to use the Continuity now if you still don’t know how to do that you can jump the two blue wires at the switch together and see if your unit comes on but you need to be very careful I don’t want you to get shocked so always work on the unit with it unplugged and your hands away from the unit when you plug it in when you’re doing the test if you go through the video again, I explain everything especially at the end. I hope this helps you, and if you can leave me a thumbs up.
Hi, great video!! but my problem doesn"t seem to be a plug may be thermal fuse. Do you know where is that located? I tried to look up but no luck so far..
Thank you for your question. Did you run a diagnostic to find out where the power is running or is terminated mine wasn’t the plug it was a micro switch. It would not turn on the power when the drawer was in place these go quite frequently. You need to do the diagnostic to find out, which location the power fails. I hope this helps you and if you can leave me a thumbs up.
Thanks for the video. I have a Cosori CP358 AF In my case, the switch worked fine, but the plastic lug for the screw that held the switch, was cracked. That allowed the switch to move instead of engaging and disengaging. I put a piece of heat-shrink tubing around the lug, but still not tight enough, although it now comes on if you lift the drawer. I'm going to build up the ramp on the drawer with a drop of epoxy
@@buildingwithpapa Well if the switch actually does go bad, I'd want to be able to get it out. I use the thing a lot, so I'll let the epoxy cure overnight. BTW, your video showed me my unit wasn't actually dead, so thanks again.
Thank you for your question. Did you go through the diagnostic of finding out if it has power to certain locations it could be your element that is burnt out. I hope this helps you and if you can leave me a thumbs up.
Good instructive video ob how to fix this Air Fryer. Now, where did you bought the switch?? Thanks for sharing. I already subscribed and gave you the thumb up! Thank you.
Thank you for your comment and no, I don’t mind you asking in the description. There should be a link to purchase the switch. I got it on Amazon Amazon. I hope this helps you and if you can leave me a thumbs up.
Make sure you test the continuity of the switch. You have to have some type of switch that engages the air fryer. Once the container is pushed in or disengage when it comes out. If you don’t have continuity with the switch, then it’s just the switch other air fryers may have a different switch, And you just have to locate it and then change it out. Hope this helped you and if you can leave me a thumbs up.
I used a flat head screwdriver just get it in there pry it up it will pop off and then it’ll reveal the screws that you need to unscrew. I hope this help you, and if you can leave me a thumbs up.
It’s called the micro switch. I did put it in the description, but I copied it here for you.www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8&tag=papabuilding-20&linkCode=ur2&linkId=ca691ec1b76a1f640c097dc435fb2034&camp=1789&creative=9325&index=appliances&keywords=KW7 I hope this helps you and if you can leave me a thumbs up.
It's called a microswitch if anyone out there wants to go look for the part. There's different ones, 2 wire, 3 wire, 2way y ones etc. but they're std sized and easy tobuy off Amazon.
But of course Matey. BTW. You inspired me to disassemble my smoking airfryer and clean out 80% of the fat it had accumulated. It refused to die on reassembly so I baked a baguette in it to make it smell nice and fresh. Love from London.
Follow the cord to the back of the unit make sure you’ve already unplugged it and when it comes in the back of the unit, you can trace it and use your continuity tester to the end of the plug and each wire to make sure you have continuity on both lines if you do then your cord is OK I hope this help you, and if you can leave me a thumbs up
Hello! Can you please tell me how to disconnect the wire from the microswitch? I have the same problem with my AirFryer and I tried to change the damaged by a new micro switch, but I can't disconnect the wire from him. 😢
Thank you for your question. Yes, mine was difficult to get off to. I pried it off with a screwdriver and a pair of needle nose pliers it will come off. I don’t know why they’re so difficult. I’m glad this video helped you, and if you can leave me a thumbs up.
Thank you for your comment. I don’t know the type of air fryer you have but the one that I have I was able to get a flat head screwdriver underneath the lid and just start working your way around the top prying it off it just snaps in. I hope this helps you, and if you can give me a thumbs up.
For the Instant Vortex air fryer is an easy fix. All you have to do is open the top and find the little black button right next to the blue wire. That should be a reset button push it down ( I used chop stick) and that’s it.
I will have to check it out. I don’t remember where I purchased them but I believe they were two for four dollars not very expensive at all the same switch. I was able to fix one of my grinders with when I was working on it it had the same switch, I’ll try and check it out for you this weekend and get back to you. In the meanwhile, if you enjoy the video if you can, please leave me a thumbs up.
I haven’t heard anything about that mine was a simple fix with the switch that wasn’t working. Hope you enjoyed the video and if you can leave me a thumbs up.
@@joseph7105 the issue with the recalled Cosori fryers is apparently overheating at the cramps level... The replacement fryers use the same cord gage but have a different way of connecting the the power cord with the wires inside the appliance (wires are now soldered instead of simply cramped).
I bought them on Amazon. 2pcs KW7-0 16A 125VAC/250VAC Microwave Push Button Microswitch Micro Switches 1NO Contact Microswitch Micro Switch for Game Machines Electric Cookers Black I copied the link that I used it’s pretty standard switch make sure you double checked everything that it is the switch and not something else. I hope this helps you and if you can leave me a thumbs up.
