Update: I believe I was using a 100w charger to power the dock, which is why I managed to get 30w turbo mode. A 65w charger, like the official ALLY X one, won't be enough to enable 30w turbo mode. This is the 100w Anker charger I use: geni.us/zUReg6e
I just realized I have the perfect use case for this. I used a Mac mini for a streaming box and I can set this right on top of it. Only problem is I have the original Ally with a case on it!

Are any of you have issues with armoury crate getting a popup warning from windows defender and JavaScript on boot? Maybe it's cause I removed windows features and core.

No VRR though through this dock. I use two cables, one for dock (Power and USB's) other for Display Port to USB-C cable to get VRR to work. When you enable VRR on your monitor it's a night and day difference. VRR shouldn't be ignored, so if you have a Freesync monitor definitely use this method.
Just out of curiosity which port are you plugging the dock into and which are you using for the usb c to display port. I have been having some issues with there 12 and 1 dock and I’m trying to figure out if I’m using the wrong port

Can you possibly out your Rog Ally stands that came in the box on the outside part to make it stable?? I’m am still waiting for my dock to get back into inventory. So I can’t see how much space it has under it

Apologies, I swore I was using a 65w charger but I must have been using my 100w without realising. I'll leave a pinned comment to inform others. You can pick up 100w chargers on Amazon fairly cheap these days, Anker do an affordable one!
Got mine and quite disappointed. Used 2 types of 100w ugreen charger, and only goes to 30w turbo mode if battery is not full. When battery is full (80%). It drops to 25w. Although it says turbo 25w i do feel a difference when playing certain games. The armory crate also keeps saying the device needs more power. The older jsaux rgb dock supports 30w turbo mode even with the asus 65w charger. Only good thing about this new one is the form factor. The dock doesnt really work though especially when using case. Wont fit. 😢
If you wamt freesync premium. You want the jsaux dock. The 1201s model. I tested a bunch of docks. That 1 does the job. Its just really expensive. Also, You cannot have HDR active when freesync premium is working and vise versa. But, The jsaux 1 does 1440P upscaled on LG Oled, With 120 HDR. At least, I managed to getit to work. Keep in mind you might need better cables.

Another dumb question sorry lol. Would an external SSD flash drive work well with this since it has 2 USBC 3 ports now? Im afraid I'm gonna lay it on its side wrong and will snap the flashdrive.
for my second handheld, I already have the switch oled, I'm trying to decide between getting the SD old and ROG Ally X, im totally okay with fiddling with settings and stuff. Any advice?

I do have a question: all of my Steam games have an icon on the desktop saved when I download them. But I see your Ally doesn’t have them on the desktop. @@QuietLionGaming congratulations!! Hope you're loving it! I delete all the shortcuts anything installs onto the desktop. They're literally just a shortcut to open the game. If you use armoury crate or steam to launch the games you don't need the shortcuts on the desktop at all. It's just a button that opens the game from the desktop essentially, not the game itself :) glad you're enjoying the content!

The real question is if this works correctly on 1440p monitors. Most of the docks magically give 1440p monitors 2 extra resolutions up to 4k.

The dock is fine once you have a 100w charger. I just wish the base was wider. Doesn't feel that stable imo

Do you get VRR / Freesync working through the dock’s HDMI port? I would have to assume yes if it’s able to manage 4K120
