Everytime they add things to this song gets better. The part of the solo is a masterpiece. I think they should remake this song in studio, cause the have added many interesting things to this song (and I mean the live versions of this song, you can notice differences from the original) Even there's an alternative version of this and it sounds great!
Yep! Your comment popped up just as I restarted the show after listening to Orestes... 😂😂 Brilliant. I can't even listen to the prerecorded version without my insides twitching to listen to the red rocks performance.. it is incredible.
All of my hairs standing up on end. I didn’t anyone could replace Josh Freese as the drummer, but they just found a left handed version of him in Jeff. So impressed!

He's a hired gun who joined as part of the touring band, not a part of the songwriting process nor did he play on any of the studio albums. He joined the band as a touring member during the thirteenth step tour and would later join the band for other tours later on. I'm not sure if he was ever referred to as an official member of the band, but I could be wrong on this.
@@aconformist1 He is an official member. Has been since 2003. The band is always on hiatus due to Maynard's other projects. Members are always working solo or with other artists during these long gaps. Iha couldn't play in the summer of 2018 due to Pumpkins reunion. But he's been on studio albums Emotive and Elephant.
This is just absolute, total, complete, pure perfection. I would give almost anything to be able to witness this in person. I am envious of every single person in that amphitheater. Seeing APC and Tool live would be a dream come true and I have to do it. Maybe one day in the not too distant future it will happen. I could then die happy.
@@danielporter6410Got to see them in 2003 when they toured for the 13th step. If you get the opportunity to see them, do it. I promise you won't regret it.
Drummer playing balls out. Holy crap is that some brilliant playing. I sure as hell wish that the editing wasn't so chopped up into one second segments during the uptempo numbers.
I will never forget listening to this for the first time. I was gonna just watch a couple performances of songs that I like and ended up watching the whole frickin thing
Maynard the best live singer vocalist I have everseen, so clean and consistent. He doesn't runs out of idea. This performance is so less egoistic , he just stayed on the dark spot without being too upfront he intentionally din this not about him, just the band, the music and the song. Actually each the members of APC are so great giving us the best times.
I've been personally responsible for probably hundreds of the views here. I come back over and over and over to this concert. When I'm grieving I crawl inside the sounds like a nest, other times I'm just cooking or doing laundry and I put it on like a phone call from an old friend.
Quickly becoming one of my fav bands. After a decade of loving Tool, only recently delved into APC/Puscifer and I adore them both. Find them a lot easier to listen to than Tool at this point, not as overwhelming... some of those elements are there but it isn't too much. Everything Maynard touches turns to gold, sings you to sleep one minute and the next he emits powerful and raw emotion, fucking love it.
Incredible Sound. The vocals and musicianship, across the board, is next level (Friedl is one of the more interesting and dynamic drummers I've come across in recent years).
I got to see them for that same tour but in Jacksonville florida. I remember just being blown away by that opening of vanishing. I was like oh my God, this is going to be a good night. Me and the person who went with me still talk about that show to this day. I'm still friends with people to this day and who I met at that show. Good times. I've gotten married and had three kids since then. Wow, time has flown.
‘’ …. Take what’s mine…….. mine…mine…. Minnnneeeeee !!!!….” Epic!!!! 01:04:34 And then when they continue the song… awesome. Oh yes, Did I mention that this is recorded at red Rock?
Jeff Friedl...omg...chills multiple times...his playing is so lyrical. I saw APC live in Austin...totally otherworldly experience! One of the best live performances EVER. Two bands for me...Zep & APC.

This show is absolutely phenomenal. I’ve just recently got into APC seriously and I’m wondering what the eff my problem is 😂 I’ve always been a fan of Maynard and Tool. I can’t get enough of this. It makes you want to cry and mosh at the same time. Maynard is perfection.
I all love three but APC is really is my favorite. Just saw Puscifer this year. That show was an experience. I saw Tool years ago. I will see them again this fall. I have not seen A Perfect Circle and I see they are playing at Red Rocks. I would love to see them there. Great comment "cry and mosh at the same time." This band really digs deep in to emotion.
I cried several times at the beauty captured in these live moments. Many can do it in a studio with endless takes, but few sound this good in concert. Big ups to the sound engineer. I think Im gonna take another lap with thos ome immediately.
Agree with the manic editing. You’ll Have a seizure trying to watch that. Takes away from really incredible performance. Maynard , his various talented bands, bandmates and shared gifts have deeply influenced my soul.
Shit! Orestes is probably one of the greatest song of any time in this show. Is unsane. Blow away my mind, is poetry and darkness, liberty and peace. What a fucking masterpiece.

Orestes is one of the greatest live performances of all time
Completely agree
Facts.
When I saw them a couple of years ago they didn't play Orestes. I'm still recovering from that disappointment.
All of my hairs standing up on end. I didn’t anyone could replace Josh Freese as the drummer, but they just found a left handed version of him in Jeff. So impressed!
PAL PICOOOOO TEMAZO
That Orestes performance was a spiritual experience
It's the one song on this i keep repeating. The ending when they all cut loose is just beautiful.
I listen to this song multiple times a day every day. I can't get over how good they performed this song live
The harmonies are insane. So good
Outstanding!
This is insane, how can a band be this good live??
