I've just been listening to Tool Live At The Sydney Entertainment Centre on 24th April,2002. What an absolutely mind blowing band to experience and see live and I can still hear pretty good for a 70 year old to this day. Regards, Doug Hughes Williamstown,Vic Australia
Was in the crowd, still i remember at about 1:06:40 something when danny hit his bass drum I think it was turned up a bit loud it reverberated through my whole body and if you listen closely you can hear the crowd sigh, never heard anything like it
I was there and I still remember that moment viscerally. I felt it punch my fucking heart and throat. Also. I wanna take this moment, 20 years later, to apologise to everyone for screaming and ripping my shirt off when 4 Degs started. It was an unexpected moment of release haha.
Still remember being stuck outside whilst they played the intro music, everyone pushing inside to hear an epic version of Flood. Will be with me forever. Tool at their peak.
Maynard’s voice sounds crazy good here, particularly in The Grudge and Parabola. The subtle distortion of this recording serves to give it an added “punch” as well, making this a real gem of an upload; we have much gratitude for it.
I went to alot of concerts and TOOL is by far the best band as far as tightness, visuals, mix, loudness, just a brilliant band, no other band comes close
I have seen all the great bands from the 70's . Led Zeppelin was my band at the time. I saw Tool Back in March and I'm still not over it. The most awesome sound, performance , visuals etc. I never tire of these geniuses'. They are BRILLIANT!
I had my first real mushroom experience listening to this album, melting into the ether. This band has forever changed my life, ive never quite listened to anything like them. Pure power, but so gentle. How many different time changes and crazy crazy creative shit can one possibly fit into each song? These dudes are epic. Im a fan
@@ankhabar not really! Adam once played riff from Rosetta stoned in 1994 while it's actually released in 2006. You'll find lot of riffs from previous albums in FI. They are just crazy mf's!
@@psaurabhp2363 riffs, yeah, when I posted this I didn't realize it was just a little Riff in the background, I was talking about complete songs. I hadn't listened to the whole recording yet lol
Thank you for sharing this with the world. My first TOOL experience was a few nights earlier in Brisbane. I barely took my eyes off Carey for two hours, and when I did it was those purple and green lights piercing through Justin’s locks as he headbanged the sh’t out of everything he played!
That moment of silence between Triad and Opiate was definitely about Layne Staley of Alice in Chains and not Linda Lovelace.MJK and Layne were close friends and this concert was within days of Layne's death.
I’d give near anything to see flood live again. Top 3 song for me. It gets more relatable every year I’m on this earth. Maybe this year the ground will finally be the rock I thought it would. Early 2000s was such a prime time to see these guys. I miss the energy they had.
dude did you record this???? this just made my life. was just my 2nd Tool show and tried my luck with a youtube search tonight and found this. one of the best gigs of my life.. thank you so much 🤘
Jesse Reilly well you, ya mate & ya mates mate are a bunch of deadset fkn legends in my book. such a trip hearing this some 15 years later.. awesome memory to have. thanks again.
Im jealous, ive seen TOOL live twice and it was life changing experience. My favorite and all-time best band( no close second) im definitely going to next one for i dont know how much longer they will tour ( their getting up in age)
This is pretty high up on my list of shows to see with my Time Machine. I’ve got a few I have to hit before I go back and give younger me the lottery numbers.
Yep, another perhaps superfluous "I was there" comment, but anyway... It was tribal, right? Felt like suddenly 15000 people who had spent years listening to Tool in their private moments of anguish, joy, exultation, turmoil were sharing something together in real time at the same moment. And then we went our separate ways.
I think so. I wasn't at the show, so I can't confirm 100% I was given a bunch of separate MP3 files for each song. There was a tiny gap in the audio between each song - with the others I was able to mask it, but because flood goes straight into the grudge, the transition isn't as smooth.

@@DanielA-sk8oh never apologise for how music makes you feel. own that moment, take it with both hands and remember that shit forever, man!
Had the same thing happen at Alpine Valley w/Maynard painted all blue. My heart hurt. I was a lil scared I've never before or since had that happen.
I experienced an effect like this at a 311 show in Seattle. You could tell he had a special pedal just for it.
Still remember being stuck outside whilst they played the intro music, everyone pushing inside to hear an epic version of Flood. Will be with me forever. Tool at their peak.
Funny because 20 years later they are still at their peak.
😂I was thinking the same thing.
Still peak and Danny officially thr greatest drummer to ever live.
Peak was 1998-99, sorry fellas. At this point they were comfortable and no longer as hungry. They lost their edge after Aenima.
I appreciate this comment, but if you haven't seen Tool in 2023 you are missing out - they are better than they've ever been.

The transition from Flood to The Grudge is incredible.
At first I thought it was a mistake - like someone cut out the gap between the two songs :D
Amen
They really went full shithouse with the setlists in 2002
It's cut. You can tell if you listen closely to the crowd cheering and also the recording hiss.
@@JesseReilly1111 not really a mistake, just two song recordings stitched together without explanation or indication.
Tool is my #1 handheld yeah!!!!!
😅
As a fairly high level IT specialist my roughest days are mastered with the assistance of live Tool shows. Thanks for this one!

So no one is gonna talk about how they played wings for marie 4 years before 10k days came out? 1:37:50 !!!!!!!

21:10 ... that was the most powerful entry into a song that exists I think, that and Irvine 2001... jesus
Thank you so much for pointing this out😱
So good, thanks for sharing! I was at the Melbourne show a few days later. Good times.
My first Concert ever was Tool in Las Vegas Nevada. 1997
Portland OR same year.
The Aenima tour!!! Genz & the Millennials don't know shit 'bout that!
Excellent audio

Thanks for the live experience. They are the best band by far from anybody. It's almost like modern-day Floyd to me. Lol I loved this!
22+ years on, I still remember a young Lady totally vibing out to Lateralus at this show. Beautiful.
I was here! Thanks for who ever recorded this and putting it online.

Thanks for uploading. I'm pretty sure I was at this show.
I'd kill someone to see one those the shows of this time, 2002.
