    Thanks for this video! I'm getting ready to sew on an applique for the first time and knew that someone on TH-cam would have the perfect technique. Love this!

    Thank you so much for this video. I've been crocheting for about 8 years, but I have never crocheted an applique then attach it to a blanket. I watched several other videos to learn how to do this, but yours, by far, was the easiest to follow and do. Thank you again, and keep up the good work! :-)

    Thank you so much for your tips on adding an appliqué to a project. I’ve been heavily crocheting for about 1 year and a half now but did some very small beginner things after my daughter was born three years ago. I have been watching lots of videos on tips for improving my craft and every little bit helps. You were very easy to understand and follow along with.

    how do you finish it off? do you tie the yarn you sewed it on with? i’m a very much so beginner and no videos have what you do once it’s sewed on🥲

    • @SweetPotato3
      @SweetPotato3  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you are all done, secure it in place with a knot between the applique and the background piece. The knot will be hidden between the 2 pieces and then you can weave the ends end and trim them up.

  • @debjones54
    @debjones54 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Any tips for ending off? I've got a tail of yarn, but not sure where to knot it, and can't access the back of the applique to finish it there. Thanks!

    • @SweetPotato3
      @SweetPotato3  7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I would knot the yarn at the base of the applique. You can hide it because it is near the backside. When you weave the ends in, you will do so in the applique itself. Doing this will also help pull the knot towards the back of the applique.

    • @debjones54
      @debjones54 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, I'll try that.

      Huh?

    • @katrinagreely5399
      @katrinagreely5399 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Sweet Potato, I’m unclear on this. Are you saying to weave in the final end of the appliqué? But how do you do that if it’s already attached all the way around? You can’t get to the back side of it anymore.

      @@katrinagreely5399 Hi... I love this tutorial.. what I do is make a knot...@ the end..& then take the needle..& slide it between the back of appliqué... & that top layer we’ve been attaching it too.. there is space there... like the inside of a pillow... I pull it towards the middle of the appliqué... & then out the front of the appliqué.. since it was knotted before.. I then cut it..& the end is inside of appliqué... hope this explanation makes sense..🙏🏽❤️

    How do you secure the end?

    • @SweetPotato3
      @SweetPotato3  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tie a knot and then weave in your ends just like you would at the end of your project :)

  • @cutecrochet
    @cutecrochet 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ok but how do you end the stitch?

    • @SweetPotato3
      @SweetPotato3  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally like to secure it with a knot between the crochet piece and the crochet applique, then weave your yarn to the back side of the work and go through 3 stitches multiple times, trim up your ends.

  • @trixnicka
    @trixnicka ปีที่แล้ว

    how do i secure it afterwards?

    • @SweetPotato3
      @SweetPotato3  ปีที่แล้ว

      I just secure it with a knot between the applique and the crochet piece. I have a photo tutorial here: sweetpotato3.com/sew-on-an-applique-with-a-no-show-back/
