Thank you Robin you saved the day again. I'm doing a baby blanket that has a applique on it. They wanted me to hot glue it on. I thought there had to be a better way. Especially for a baby. Thank goodness I checked first. Up popped your video. I really did not want to mess up my pretty baby blanket or hurt a baby by gluing it on. Thank you so much for your advice.
Just brilliant, Robin. You have opened up a new way of decorating my baby blankets for me. Love your explanations accompanied by the practical demonstration straight away. Much appreciated, and it is my ‘go to’ reference as you suggested, a great teaching resource!
Thank you! Been procrastinating putting my 50 stars on the lapghan I finished a month or two ago but exciting to get it done now know how to make it neat!
Thank you for sharing this sewing technique. I'm very happy that you have this opportunity to share this CAL with us. With most respects to you and the designer. Great job! Looking forward to the next video tutorial. Donna K.
GREAT VIDEO!! I've just been trying to figure out how to make an afghan for a young girl with appliques sewn on. I'm going to do this!!! Thank you for this!! TFS! Austin TX USA
This is great! I’m thinking of doing Christmas trees to my sisters blanket this year for her present. This tutorial has helped a lot since I’ve never done it before.
Thank you! I have a very colorful blanket going and was stuck on how to attach the appliques. Its taking forever, but it looks so much more put together now 😊.
Forgot. Thanks for your kind reply to your hooks . I got the Amour today 3mm...4mm these are for this square and a 6mm for to use for your tutorial on the pipsqueak wool. I'm flying with the 6mm just love it. Tried the 3mm and 4mm Unbelievable LOVE THEM.Getting more of them definitely. Love from Ireland xxx Ann Marie
i believe that if you don't want the end just weave it in like u would normally do with crochet projects(you can search up how to weave in ends in crochet)
Thank you Robin as always for this great tutorial. I have a couple of questions-first, when you finish off or knot the yarn after sewing on the applique,m does the knot show through-or rather how do you keep the knot from showing through or making a bump? Also, if you have an applique that has sections of different colors i.e. an elephant with a gray body and pink ears, do you recommend finishing off each color and the starting with a new color? Thanks.
Hi Robin. This video is a lifesaver!! Unfortunately I didnt leave a long tail to sew my applique on 😢. I guess I'll need to attach a long tail to the back of my elephant. Sob
This may have an obvious answer but in the video you were attaching the heart to a filled granny square but I was wondering if this method would also work for something more open like a regular granny square?
I have crochet two American Flags but haven’t put the stars on them. I would appreciate if you would do a you tube to help me. I really want to finish them to give away also to make some more blankets.
@@shaelynn2468that would be because she doesn’t tie it off for this specific pattern. If you pay attention to the beginning when she’s showing the finished piece she uses that left over tail for the “ribbon” on the “balloon”
I have a blanket my mom crocheted. I have some extra blocks I found. I want to add as an appliqué heart. I sew (machine) but don’t crochet. How would I tie off?
Have you seen all the other squares for the Unicorn Dreams Blanket CAL? *The full playlist is here* bit.ly/2lOIjrO 👈😀

Can I just ask, how do you fasten your sewing off......so it stays secure.

A tiny little knot and then weave in the ends under the actual applique itself 👍
Hooked by Robin Brilliant! Thanks Robin 👍
That looks great!!!👍❤️👍Love it.

How do I finish the stitch? Do I knot or just weave it in?

Gerçekten çok yardımcı bir video oldu. Teşekkür ederimm♥

Thank you Sue!😃

How do you finish off the end to secure it?
Hi Robin. This video is a lifesaver!! Unfortunately I didnt leave a long tail to sew my applique on 😢. I guess I'll need to attach a long tail to the back of my elephant. Sob
wonderful, thanku
You are welcome.🤗🥰 x
Love this 💕
Thank you very much 😘
Thank you so much this has been so helpful! Would you recommend blocking the square before applying the appliqués? Thanks again! 💖
Yes definitely! 😀
@@HookedbyRobin Awesome thanks so much for replying! 💖
That reminds me of Swedish weaving.
Thanks soo much
Thank you so much!
Hello! I was wondering how exactly you’d end sewing the appliqué? Make a knot and just cut it at the end or?
Great idea, but how do you tie it off at the end?
what do you do after you do the stitching with the extra yarn? do you cut off the excess or thread it back into the heart?
Thank you for this tutorial. I was wondering how to sew the stars on the American flag afghan I am working on.😊
I’m glad it helps Patty!😃🤗
This may have an obvious answer but in the video you were attaching the heart to a filled granny square but I was wondering if this method would also work for something more open like a regular granny square?
hey ik im late but how do u finish it? do you just cut it off or tighten it or what?
What do you do with the last bit of yarn when it’s done? Do you knot it? If so how do you hide it?
I have crochet two American Flags but haven’t put the stars on them. I would appreciate if you would do a you tube to help me. I really want to finish them to give away also to make some more blankets.
When you’re done sewing do you just cut it off and leave it? Or do you weave in the ends?
I like your video. But you didn’t show how to tie off when you were done sewing.
3 years later and i still can't find a comment on how to tie it off XD
@@shaelynn2468that would be because she doesn’t tie it off for this specific pattern. If you pay attention to the beginning when she’s showing the finished piece she uses that left over tail for the “ribbon” on the “balloon”
You tie of anything and everything with a slip stitch
I have a blanket my mom crocheted. I have some extra blocks I found. I want to add as an appliqué heart. I sew (machine) but don’t crochet. How would I tie off?
What would I do at the very end of it to tie it off and make sure it’s secure without it showing?
Is this safe to place in the washing machine when they're applied?
Would I just cut off the yarn when I’m done sewing it to my project?
How do you tie off appliqués?
Do u need to knot it afterwards so it doesn’t come undone? I’m knew at this n not sure how to secure it at the end
I wanted to like it again as I came back for a revision. Here’s an emoticon instead 👍🏾
Thank you!🥰🤗
Obrigada por compartilhar
🥰🤗
Oh no I already weaved in my ends 🤣!
Can I still stitch my appliques even though I've already cut off the tails ? /:
