My jaw dropped when you said the cost of the set. There are no coincidences! Out for 10 minutes and in you came. That set was made for you. What fun, even for elegant smaller gatherings for breakfast or lunch! Great find! Enjoy! I felt so much excitement for you!
Oh, Nicolas! It was just meant to be for you to be in the right place, at the right time, and to purchase that set at such an amazing price. It is gorgeous! Love it when you take us along with you on your adventures. 🥰
Well done Nicolas! in 1983 I made my first visit to London. In those days some Royal Albert patterns were "protected" ( not sold in the USA) I had seen the Old Country Roses pattern at a friends house (she had just 2 coffee mugs) and fell in love with its vibrant colors. So first thing I went to the Royal Albert store and bought a service for 12 in every piece available! I was so excited. Of course, it had to be shipped back and took some time. One day wooden crates arrived along with a big bill! Because it was fine china at that time there was a US tariff. I think it was 100%! I didnt care. For some years we have been able to buy that pattern here and many own and love it. I never regretted my purchase and enjoy it every year since. Though I havent had many ocassions to use the cream soups with their own saucers! You will love that blue the more you use it. Those are definitely sugar bowls. I think you have a covered butter dish and other interesting pieces. Having both the tea and coffee pots are super special. A very "entertaining" lady donated that complete set. You are very correct that the angels see our good deeds and reward us in the most special ways. You got the entire thing for about the same as one cup and saucer! Blessings❤️💐
❤❤❤good morning you indeed had a lucky Heather find in the tea service at the charity shop right place e right time your visit to the London Hotel so elegant and yet very comfortable to stay and the film Beg
Dear Nicholas, So happy that you’re taking care of your health by not drinking alcohol. Your royal Albert, China is gorgeous. Show us one day when you put it on TH-cam video for your next tea party. 🏡🥰🧁☕️
I think your tea set is perfect, especially, the way you connect it to Brigadoon. The thistle is perfect, Royal Albert, always a winner. The old hotel is so luxurious looking to me and I prefer the old ones to anything new. Love watching you putter around the home.
Many, many years ago, I used to work for Midland Bank, and I have to say this is quite the largest bank interior I have ever seen. Back then, our branch had such a lovely interior full of architectural detail and carved woodwork. Alas, it has since been "renovated" and all the character has been lost.
Nicholas, the hotel you stayed at in London was spectacular. It was so elegant and so “British.” What a luxurious experience. I loved your story of putting your £5 in the church box and walking into the shop and finding your deal-of-the-century tea set. It is lovely and so meaningful with the thistle pattern. I will look forward to seeing it in future episodes. Spring is in the air and a perfect time to add a few things to your flower boxes. Very enjoyable episode.❤️
Dearest Nicolas! The new Tea Set is simply lovely; you were meant to find it and give it a good home. It is the find of a lifetime; congratulations! The hotel in London was very beautiful; like you said, very masculine. Here, my Uncle woke me with a call to my cell phone. I was quite concerned that there may have been a Family Emergency, but thankfully it was nothing. We just continue to recover from the Flu. My mother in law has been a bit moody with the illness, as we care for her in her retirement. Thanks again for the beautiful episode! ❤F&A
Nicolas-Love the tea set! So pretty. I am so happy you bought it!!! Keep it forever, and the plates are very nice too. Your patio/entrance is looking very good! Have a wonderful day! Love and light and all things bright!
I just googled your tea set. Three pieces (cup, saucer, and small plate) are selling anywhere from $72. to $85. on sale here in the states. What a deal you got. I forgot to mention in my previous post the hotel part of your video was just gorgeous. Thanks for taking us along.
In the UK people are giving them away as no one wants them now, I was actually in a second hand shop when the owner refused to take a full service bone China dinner set offered for free because the lady couldn’t sell it and didn’t want to bin it. People just don’t have the room nowadays to store these lovely dinner sets.
That tea set is a great buy! And its connection to Scotland and the church donation. Glad you're keeping it! Its value will appreciate over the years. I'm looking forward to your first afternoon tea using the set.
There are no coincidences, Nicolas. God knows all and loves us all. I like how you are spreading feelings about your health and the environment. thank you
What a wonderful story! As soon as I saw the pattern on the tea set I thought it perfect. The thistles add to the magic of the story because they represent where you were when you found the china. It's a beautiful set, and the story about the donation in the cathedral truly elevates this great find to a treasured gift. Lovely video!
I stayed at The Ned two weeks ago for a night, on my first trip to London. Absolutely loved it. One of the best hotels I think, in the world. And the Royal Albert set oh my gosh! I collect the 1982 Green Velvet pattern, beautiful things to be honest.
Lovely set of Royal Albert Nicholas. We don’t always see the pattern or colours that would be our first choice. I bought a set from charity shop and felt the same way about the pattern but as I used it I got more attached to it and it’s so nice to drink from good quality China. I love it.
Congrats on the beautiful tea set! It was meant to be! I live in a small town in the US and same thing, a lot of the small businesses are closed on Mondays. You're so blessed to be able to travel to so many beautiful locations. Thank you for sharing it with us! ❤
£55?? Omg! I wish you could see my green envious face😂😂😂 it’s absolutely beautiful, and was definitely meant for you. Also loved that amazing hotel. I wouldn’t want to get out of that bed. 🤗
Hey Nicolas, I too was thrifting a few days ago and saw a brand new box of pure crystal flutes. I grabbed the box, which was a huge discount. I remembered your table settings (beautiful) and couldn't resist. Thanks. Love your new tea set.
Nicolas, you looking quite healthy and even more handsome! Your face has slimmed down noticeably. Good for you for keeping up the new healthy lifestyle. ❤
Dear Nicolas, your new tea set is simply divine, it is incredible that you got it so complete at such a great price! I love it when you spend time in your garden. Thanks for sharing.
Nicolas, the china is absolutely beautiful! You certainly did get a great deal! Many years ago, my husband, Eddie, had a vast collection of RS Prussia porcelain and had it all on display here in our home. When I first met him, this house was like coming into a museum of wonderful and beautiful tea pots, chocolate pots, syrups, euers, cracker jars, syrups with pewter tops, etc. He and his former wife were the largest collectors in this country and had over 5,000 pieces...not kidding! Although they were great to look at, you could not move in here as the large cabinets that housed it all were dark and took up way too much room. We since have sold most of the pieces, we do still have a few of the pillow vases and aslo a few of the syrups with the pewter tops, etc., but overall most of the pieces are now somewhere over in Shang Hai, haha! Long story, maybe some day if you ever come to the USA and want to join us for tea and muffins, we can finish telling you the story. You are always welcome! Love the pattern on your pieces., they are magnificent! Enjoy!
Nicolas, your new tea set is beautiful! Enjoy! Thanks so much for taking us to and showing us around another gorgeous hotel. I love the antiquity of those gorgeous historic buildings in the U.K.
Nicholas, lovely showing us the hotel you stayed in and its surroundings. I love your tea set. It's elegant but not too fussy. Great find! You need to find a nice silver tray to put the tea and coffee pot on.💕
The tea set is PERFECT for you (because of the Scottish design theme) and you were SPOT ON when you said it was MEANT FOR YOU! SO pleased you decided to keep it for just that reason!
. Gardeners in America describe the planting procedure in pots as Thriller, Filler and Spiller. Easily understood in the English speaking world I believe. Tall middle plant, filler around its base, then a trailing plant, usually two on either side but sometimes more. SO glad you are looking for replacements for the wall lights in the living room!!
Serendipity! I think the tea set pattern is timeless and can transition through all of the seasons. The Ned is fabulous and Peggy helping with the room tour was sweet. Happy spring time!
Another special video. Loved seeing the hotel - so elegant. The tea set was a great bargain. I am with you about the shape but the thistle design is actually quite modern looking and smart. I have a set of Buchan Thistle stoneware from Scotland that my Mother collected. It is blue (her favourite colour) and each piece has a hand painted thistle on it. When we were kids we weren't allowed to use it because it was her "special" tableware. When she passed away I immediately started using it for everyday and I can only imagine her reaction if she knew.
I still love the 46 year old Minton China, Gotham silver, and Waterford crystal that we received as wedding gifts. I love setting the table with it. It has aged so beautifully. I hope you love yours as much in 50 years as you do now.
The packaging of you natural deodorant is amazing. Hopefully the deodorant works. Most natural deodorants don't have the anti-sweat and anti-odor qualities required. If this one does, you've found a treasure. Love that hotel. Reminds me of banks I saw in London, with marble, high ceilings and echoes (not sure if the echoes remain in that beautiful hotel. Your tea set, such an incredible bargain, with everything included for a cozy or summer tea-party. Thanks Nicolas.
What a beautiful hotel. I was in Melbourne just before Christmas and I stayed in a hotel that was built in the late 1800s. There is a modern extension, but I asked to stay in the original part. It was like stepping back in time and I loved it. That tea service was meant to be yours.
What an amazing bargain. The tea set is lovely. Royal Albert makes beautiful well made china. I fell in love with the Royal Albert Old Country Roses when I discovered it. Royal Albert also makes tea for one sets as well.
Love the older hotels .When I went to London a few years ago I found a small hotel The Orange with a great pub down stairs and restaurant. Older ones are the best. Fabulous tea set.
Indeed an incredible bargain on that tea set. I would have thought the teapot at 55 pounds, would have been a great deal, and you got so many beautiful pieces. I love the pattern, because there is nothing more Scottish than the thistle. Can't wait to see it being used with a full complement of friends. Edited to say that I just found the teapot at 99 pounds on one secondary market site. Another had it at 124 pounds.
I visited London one night only and I stayed at the Duke Hotel which was under repair and I had this tiny cell of a room. The only thing I recall about the hotel is the grapefruit juice they served me with breakfast and I couldn't get enough, enjoying many glasses, many many glasses of it. Never knew London would remain in my memory only for the grapefruit juice I had. And no, I would not recommend the Duke Hotel.
I too stayed at the Duke’s Hotel once and it was lovely and so quaint, except my room faced the back and the trash bins were emptied int he morning, the noise was horrendous,, so much for glamour.
Lovely to see Sophie in the back ground, with a new hair cut I think?! Your window boxes look lovely, will cheer you up every time you go out in your front garden. xxx
Holy Cats!!!! You certainly did find the bargain of the century! And it's so absolutely lovely! Thank you for taking us along on your holiday weekend. The hotel was wonderful. Loved having a look around.
Lovely pattern and what a wonderful find. One of my aunts picked that pattern. My pattern is Royal Albert's Lavender Rose, and my mom's is Royal Daulton Sarabande. Thank you for sharing with us. 💜
My best feature in the hotel room was….bed, sink and tub….loooove marble, and love dark furniture, gives the room grander look. What a bargain - tea pot set….such as beautiful buy. It was so lovely to relax with you. Wish to see more episodes very soon xx Thank you very much again for a lovely vlog
Nicolas thank you for taking us with you on your latest adventure. The hotel was beautiful. I love that bed. I'm so happy you found that Royal Albert bone china. Some patterns are very floral and feminine so the thistle pattern is actually very nice for a gentleman. I hope you get years of enjoyment from them. Let the tea party begin! 😀
The blue thistle is beautiful and I do love Royal Albert and Wedgwood too. With your decorating talent you will be able to display it in a way that expresses you! Also, there are dishes that will compliment it, maybe some tailored pieces or pottery. This is what I might do. I love dishes and linens. So much fun. Enjoy and share your tea party with us, please.
Omg! That china set is beautiful 😍 it was meant to be Nicolas! I just googled how much 55 lbs in US dollars is and you definitely got a steal for $70 bucks , no wonder you were so giddy about it 😀 I went to Savers last weekend and I found some unmatched tea cups and their saucers set, I scooped 4 of them. Only $1.99 each! I’ve been looking for some to make them planters so I was so happy when I found them. You’re so cute with your garden too, I did some indoor plant transplanting too. Nothing beats simple living, have a great week Nicolas I look forward to your next vlog ❤
That tea set is fabulous and what a great bargain. I do believe that sending love and gratitude out into the world always brings back good things. Enjoy your week🌷
So happy that you found your tea set. And that it was such an amazing bargain. I am so excited that Spring is almost here. Looking forward to joining you in your garden in upcoming videos. Hugs!
Enviable tea set. Apart from being the low price, it's to die for. Congratulations for your new tea set. Enjoy the use of it and make everyone envious. God bless you. ❤🎉
What a special person you are Nicholas....God bless you. yes the tea set is absolutely beautiful. Enjoy it in good health and happy occasions. Much love 🙏
That was a great deal on your china tea set after making your 5 pound donation! Several sayings that reflect your good fortune are “You reap what you sow” and “What goes around comes around”. I’m enjoying the look and scent of your candle as I write this. Thanks for all the wonderful places you take us to. We enjoy them all 🥰
Wowww I cant believe that bargain, for the whole set!!!!!! my mum is a huge fan of Royal Albert, she has few things at home, but this WOWW , so beautiful. I am so happy you found it, specially because you were looking for something like this, nothing to say but ENJOY IT! I am sure you will delight us all with a beautiful tea party video to show us. Sending you a big hug.
Nicolas, the tea set is perfect. You are so fortunate to have entered the store and found a brand new and beautiful set for such a good price. I would have bought it too, if I were you. I also like the new plates. Enjoy your new items. 🌸
Wow ... what a find! That tea set was meant to be yours. Thank you also for the tour of The Ned. I'm enamored by the history of the building and the tasteful repurposing of the bank while keeping all its key elements. The room was elegant but cozy.
Very enjoyable video! You really scored big with the tea set! Congratulations! I also appreciate the fact that Nathan ordered a sausage for his furry friend!
What a lovely tea set - what a great bargain- also what a stunning hotel - the lobby is incredible with the black & white checkered tiles & dark wood - it had an old world feel - loved loved the room -I agree the canopy bed is beautiful
It does sound like a great product---lucky find! Two of my own favorite exfoliation methods are: 1) used coffee grounds, taking a tablespoon full of grounds and mixing with my favorite liquid moisturizing soap, together they remove all dead skin and leave a smooth, soft surface and I do this maybe once a week; and 2) once every week or so I smear a tablespoon of mayonnaise a.ka. aioli all over my face and let it sit for only about 3 to 4 minutes, because it will start to tingle and burn, and after about 4 minutes, I wash it away with moisturizing soap and the results of that are as good as any 4-layer spa facial and I save loads of money. I have a friend who visits a salon at least twice and she will never give up her spa visits, but she does readily admit my own beauty regimen does work. So if you're on a tight budget......voilà !!!
Nicolas, I was so thrilled to see your tea set, as I have the same one!! I'm in the US but chose it because my paternal grandparents were from Inverness. You got an amazing deal for sure and I am so happy for you! Can't wait to see your first video using it! Take good care, best wishes and love to you ❤
The four post bed is definitely my favorite in the hotel room. It gives feelings of being in a chateau with its grandeur! What a brilliant find! I think your new tea set is absolutely lovely, even if it’s not exactly the set of your dreams. Until you get the set of your dreams this one will serve you very well and it comes with a great story! I can’t wait to see it in use! Invite some friends, make some goodies and have a fabulous tea party! Your window boxes are going to be absolutely gorgeous later in the season as they look great right now! Seeing those Spring daffodils makes me anxious to see more signs of Spring! I’m sooo ready to put away my winter coats!
Wow! Nicolas your set of Porcelain of Prince albert,s China is so Beautiful!!. And Thank you for Sharing the bank Turned hotel. It Was a first class One. Lived that Balcony sitting 😊

Holy Cats!!!! You certainly did find the bargain of the century! And it's so absolutely lovely!
Thank you for taking us along on your holiday weekend. The hotel was wonderful. Loved having a look around.
Your tea set is absolutely wonderful. You will make many great memories using it. Love the window boxes. Loved seeing the old hotel.
I do think your generous spirit was rewarded! Can’t wait to see you use your beautiful tea set!
Ivy and a Hellibore look really good in the window box.
Enjoy your leisure time!
Giving you a compliment on the slightly updated hair styling! This is VERY enhancing.
My favorite belongings are the ones I wouldn’t specifically imagined having but got to appreciate and cherish by surprise. Wonderful episode 🐛🎩⏱✨
Wow. I’m crying buckets. I’ve been looking for this pattern for 45 years. What few pieces I have were my great grandmother’s.
We enjoy them all 🥰
Great brown mahogany looks tremendous in 18th Century furniture.

The tea set is beautiful! I love that Peggy was able to stay at Ned with you snd Nathan . Happy Birthday, Nathan !
Nicolas, the tea set is perfect. You are so fortunate to have entered the store and found a brand new and beautiful set for such a good price. I would have bought it too, if I were you.
I also like the new plates.
Enjoy your new items. 🌸
Great find at the charity shop. I love the pattern. I know we will see it again. Thank you so much for sharing.
I'm jealous of the tea set... it is gorgeous... and the design is so well proportioned and in balance... well done...
Wow ... what a find! That tea set was meant to be yours. Thank you also for the tour of The Ned. I'm enamored by the history of the building and the tasteful repurposing of the bank while keeping all its key elements. The room was elegant but cozy.
You are right! It absolutely was the MAN upstairs thanking and blessing you🙏♥️
Very enjoyable video! You really scored big with the tea set! Congratulations! I also appreciate the fact that Nathan ordered a sausage for his furry friend!
Nicolas Fairford SPRING content has OFFICIALLY STARTED!!! I’m so ready! ❤🌷☀
What a lovely tea set - what a great bargain- also what a stunning hotel - the lobby is incredible with the black & white checkered tiles & dark wood - it had an old world feel - loved loved the room -I agree the canopy bed is beautiful
What a wonderful episode. Congratulations on your serendipitous tea set! And lovely to see Miss Sophie as always.
That's an awesome tea set.....I love the design, so subtle and classy, not loud. I love thistle designs as well.❤
It does sound like a great product---lucky find!
Your new tea set is gorgeous. Thank you for the tour of the hotel! Such an amazing place!
I loved your story of the five pound note in Cathedral and THEN the Royal Albert Tea Set! I do believe!
Yes, I was getting a Gringott's vibe from the lobby! The tea set is so beautiful and what a bargain - unbelievable - it was meant to be.
