    I bought my cat 277 new in 2003. No one has been able to tell me how to do that for 19 yrs until your video! For 19 f-ing yrs I fought this everytime I took off the 4 in1 and put my hammer on if there was a temperature change! Turn the key on hit park & move the aux control to both positions. Piece of cake. Thank you so much!!

    Connecting the hoses together from the attachments when not in use has helped me a lot. My New Holland skid steers don't have that button. The hoses will build up pressure from sitting in the sun.

    • @AHandleOnThings
      @AHandleOnThings  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Michael,
      Yes sir! I always connect my hoses together.
      Keeps the dirt out of the fittings and helps to keep them equalized
      I hadnt considered that they build pressure sitting in the sun but that makes perfect sense!
      Excellent comment!

    Do you have a video on operating a grapple ? I have a similar m/c ( T190 , panel is like yours ) I have an issue with aux hydraulics not working . I put a grapple on it , but not functioning with the thumb switch even with the hydraulic light on . What am I doing wrong ?

    • @AHandleOnThings
      @AHandleOnThings  ปีที่แล้ว

      Mr Bill,
      Ensure that you have enabled the hydraulics on your control pad. (mine is on the top left of cab)
      and then you should be able to sort out what control button is programmed for supplying flow to the aux set up. Each machine is a little different but it is going to be pretty basic. Just a two position flow valve setup.
      If you dont get it working, check your aux system with a different implement to ensure that it is working. Isolate the issue and then troubleshooting becomes easier
      LEt us know what you come up with!

    How do you release pressure on the older models that don't have the button ?

    • @AHandleOnThings
      @AHandleOnThings  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Try attaching one hose. (Usually one hose will go on and the second one gives you trouble due to pressure... ) Then after trying and failing to attach the second hydraulic line.... DISCONNECT the FIRST hose you JUST HOOKED UP and the attach the OTHER One...
      THEN attach the FIRST line again...
      That used to work to bleed off the pressure every time with my last machine.
      Let us know how it works out for you!

    I have 1993 7753 and have always had the problem of plugging in the auxiliary hydraulic lines. One goes on no problem and the seldom goes in without cracking the fitting and bleeding off pressure. You are supposed to turn the key off and in the same motion turn it to pressure relief. It might work 2 of of a 100 times. Have talked with Bobcat and they have no ideas. Do you. I have contemplated putting a toggle switch to power up the relief valve for a few seconds but I shouldn't have to do that. I bought this machine new in 1994. Thanks

    Hi I have a question and I'd appreciate if you could help me out I have a bobcat compact excavator and one of the thumb hydraulic line snagged and ripped off but it broke and all the hydraulic fluid spilled out I got a new hose and it's all back and put more hydraulic fluid do I have to "purge the lines" ? And how I can't find a spot to hook up a purge hose .. its the bobcat 331

    • @AHandleOnThings
      @AHandleOnThings  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There will likely be a different "factory recommended" process for bleeding the air out of your system depending on what the broken hydraulic line was serving.
      While I dont claim to know the process for your machine and I dont know which ram your line was serving, often it is as simple as removing the OUT-FLOW line from the affected ram, and then collapsing the ram to an "empty" state to bleed the air from it and then hook the line back up and supply the hydraulic fluid to the ram again.
      Again, I dont have enough info to promise you that this will work, but that is a commonly followed procedure.

    • @AHandleOnThings
      @AHandleOnThings  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine follow the inside of the lift arm on the "drivers side" back to the engine compartment. They are obscured once they hit the engine compartment so I cant tell you the routing from there. Sorry.
      I would look for a maintenance/parts manual and there should be something there I would guess.

      @AHandleOnThings  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      G.A. Wilson,
      I haven't ever owned a new Holland, but when in doubt, shut the machine down and that is often enough to open the pressure releases.
      Optionally, give your local New Holland dealer a shout and they can help for sure.

      No.. Shutting off machine does not help. Calling a qualified NH tech does not help either. Pretty much just work at it for about an hour each hook up while bitching and moaning the entire time. If rhis doesn't help just cry for a few minutes when you become very fed up with it. Usually none of this works.

    • @AHandleOnThings
      @AHandleOnThings  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Right below your fuel gauge there is a button that says "maximum flow only/variable flow"...
      Push that after you have all of the hydraulic lights lit up and then try your switches... That enables the switches on the sticks.
      Let us know if that solves your problem!

      Dawn
      Generally the problem is needing to depressurize the hydraulic system.
      Occasionally you may be accidentally be pushing on fittings that are supposed to be pulled to release (or vice-versa)
      Another possibility is... there is a little bead that is essentially a ball bearing that needs to be aligned with the collar to allow it to be slid.
      Let us know what you come up with!
      Thanks,
      -Shane
