I noticed this as well. The way they look at one another shows how they love each other! My husband and I look at each other the same way... we hit 20 years next may. A lifetime and a blink of an eye!
My husband and I met through an add, and got married a month later, it was totally a God thing. We were in our early 30’s, that was over 20 years ago as well. I would have never imagined I would marry anyone that quickly, but it worked for us it was just meant to be. ❤️

I knew we are of an age, but to learn we are both New Yorkers, both did college in the late 70s, both were professionals in D.C., living in No. VA in the 80s and both did a 180 to be moms later in life. 5/17/23: Well, that was the sweetest story I've heard of any couple and how they got together, AND ARE STILL MARRIED, 20 years later! That's so wonderful. Not many people can boast that these days. Ted appears to be so mellow and laid back and you are so, as he said, an "extrovert", and wonderfully so. Opposites attract! Thank you for sharing your story. I enjoyed it.
Mary we enjoyed meeting Ted and Merry Christmas to ya'll. 10 years difference is nothing, 21 years between me and my wife. Coming up on 32 years together. Age doesn't matter. Wish you many more years of happiness together.
I love this video! I’ve often wondered about him. How lucky and sweet he must be. Because, you are a very happy and pleasant person. And now I see how very wonderful and happy you are together.
Loved hearing your story. Sounds similar to my parents. They married after three days. Her first wedding ring was a candy one. In their case though Mom was 11 years older than him. They had another wedding as my father had to wait until he was 21 since his parents wouldn't give permission. One of their anniversaries is in February and the other is in July. Mom is still alive but my father died of Lou Gehrig's Disease in February 1996. To this day though she still says she is happily married to him. He was a rare kind of man. When she nearly died along with my sister and the doctor said she couldn't have any more children, he got a vasectomy. If she mentioned anything to him he would get it or four for here. He even did the dishes so Mom's nails would stay nice. They never argued or fought. If Mom even raised her voice (she busted an ear drum so her hearing isn't very good) Dad would hide. Funny thing is he was 6'0 and she was 4'11. In her mid seventies she shrunk to 4'7. Got your card today. Thank you. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones.

You found your soul mate, just like me and my husband we didn't have a long courtship either in fact ours was a blind date that has lasted well over 35 yrs .
We have family in West Virginia as well and an uncle sent us ramps. I Love them and ate them for three days. My husband said I smelled so bad because the smell was coming out of my pores! So worth it!

Beautiful story. Talking about your father-in-law reminded me of the relationship I had with mine. He was a welder and could build anything! I could spend hours with him talking about things I wanted to do and he was the only one who understood exactly and pointed me in the right direction. I also saw a video of you and Ben working outside in the garden. As far as age goes you two have reached that part in years of marriage where you can't tell the age difference. You both look great! This is so sweet, it brings back memories of my late husband. We met in Oct and married in Jan. The love never stopped, I thought when he passed I would never be happy again. I did find love once again. I was blessed by God to meet my husband, another great love.

As I listened to you talking about your whirlwind courtship, I smiled. I was in my thirties when I met my husband. I was on vacation in Okinawa. We met in August 1990 and were married Christmas Eve, 1990. He was in the military and I moved to Okinawa after we married. My daughter was born in Okinawa 11 months later. We came back to the USA 2 years later. Today is our 30th wedding anniversary. I so appreciate you teaching your viewers, me included, the traditional foods and cooking and preserving ways. I watched this video a few days ago and enjoyed it so much that my husband and I re-watched it together. What a lovely family and story! You guys are so blessed to live a life realizing the importance of each other--including your son and your extended family. I really enjoyed hearing your story. We are a family from east-central WV. My Grandparents farmed and/or gardened and my Grandmothers...especially my maternal Grandmother, knew about and used herbs for medicine. She sparked a love it it in me and a few years ago I became "really" interested in herbal medicine. I began learning on my own, then finished an educational course to earn my clinical certification. We know all about ramps, too. lol We dig them in the spring and eat them and my son, daughter in law, and I love to find new ways of preserving them to add to dishes throughout the year (dried, pesto/frozen, etc.). I love learning about traditional foods and medicine (your channel has been such a help). You are such a positive influence on YT and I am sure that your family as a unit and individuals out in the world are a great influence on many people as you live your lives and conduct yourselves in such a kind and positive way. 5/17/23: Well, that was the sweetest story I've heard of any couple and how they got together, AND ARE STILL MARRIED, 20 years later! That's so wonderful. Not many people can boast that these days. Ted appears to be so mellow and laid back and you are so, as he said, an "extrovert", and wonderfully so. Opposites attract! Thank you for sharing your story. I enjoyed it.

Loved hearing your story. Sounds similar to my parents. They married after three days. Her first wedding ring was a candy one. In their case though Mom was 11 years older than him. They had another wedding as my father had to wait until he was 21 since his parents wouldn't give permission. One of their anniversaries is in February and the other is in July. Mom is still alive but my father died of Lou Gehrig's Disease in February 1996. To this day though she still says she is happily married to him. He was a rare kind of man. When she nearly died along with my sister and the doctor said she couldn't have any more children, he got a vasectomy. If she mentioned anything to him he would get it or four for here. He even did the dishes so Mom's nails would stay nice. They never argued or fought. If Mom even raised her voice (she busted an ear drum so her hearing isn't very good) Dad would hide. Funny thing is he was 6'0 and she was 4'11. In her mid seventies she shrunk to 4'7. Got your card today. Thank you. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones.

Beautiful story. Talking about your father-in-law reminded me of the relationship I had with mine. He was a welder and could build anything! I could spend hours with him talking about things I wanted to do and he was the only one who understood exactly and pointed me in the right direction. Hi! I've been following your videos for the last three months watching back to back. I always love "meeting" the other half of those youtubers who become a staple in our homes. I also saw a video of you and Ben working outside in the garden. As far as age goes you two have reached that part in years of marriage where you can't tell the age difference. You both look great! I commented before I watched Ted talk about his parent’s loving kept them together and how hard it was growing up in an interracial family. I grew up that way, but a bit different (black father/white mother). It really touched me when he spoke about that. Thank you for sharing your story. 💜💜
As I listened to you talking about your whirlwind courtship, I smiled. I was in my thirties when I met my husband. I was on vacation in Okinawa. We met in August 1990 and were married Christmas Eve, 1990. He was in the military and I moved to Okinawa after we married. My daughter was born in Okinawa 11 months later. We came back to the USA 2 years later. Today is our 30th wedding anniversary. I so appreciate you teaching your viewers, me included, the traditional foods and cooking and preserving ways. I watched this video a few days ago and enjoyed it so much that my husband and I re-watched it together. What a lovely family and story! You guys are so blessed to live a life realizing the importance of each other--including your son and your extended family. I really enjoyed hearing your story. We are a family from east-central WV. My Grandparents farmed and/or gardened and my Grandmothers...especially my maternal Grandmother, knew about and used herbs for medicine. She sparked a love it it in me and a few years ago I became "really" interested in herbal medicine. I began learning on my own, then finished an educational course to earn my clinical certification. We know all about ramps, too. lol We dig them in the spring and eat them and my son, daughter in law, and I love to find new ways of preserving them to add to dishes throughout the year (dried, pesto/frozen, etc.). I love learning about traditional foods and medicine (your channel has been such a help). You are such a positive influence on YT and I am sure that your family as a unit and individuals out in the world are a great influence on many people as you live your lives and conduct yourselves in such a kind and positive way.
