2023 BMW 760i | Rolls-Royce Vibes on an Executive Sedan Budget

- BMW didn’t just redesign the 7 Series; it launched it into the future. This no-holds-barred reimagining of the brand’s most luxurious sedan creates an automotive Xanadu - one in which rear seat passengers have access to streaming services via a 31-inch, 8K widescreen, the Mirror Oak High Gloss trim illuminates with a kaleidoscope of colors, small tablets are integrated into the rear doors to control a multitude of relaxation functions in the Executive Lounge including a sleeper seat for times when you just want to stretch out, and the 36-speaker Bowers and Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound system adds a fourth dimension with bass drivers built into the backrests. The armrest panels are heated, the Sky Lounge LED roof is now larger with new lighting effects, the welcome mat sparkles, massage programs abound for every seat, and all four doors operate automatically - no need to tax yourself by pulling them closed. Based on this resume alone you’d expect a car of this ilk to command upwards of $200,000 which is why I’m impressed - remember, it’s all relative - that the MSRP is only $132,000. That may seem like a ridiculous statement but there’re some serious Rolls-Royce vibes here for pennies on the dollar.

So Chris Bangle was responsible for the “Bangle Butt”, who,can we thank for this monstrosity?
DIDNT THE CHRIS BANGLE 740I HAVE PLENTY OF ELECTRONIC ISSUES AS WELL ??? U THINK I TRUST BMW WITH ELECTRONICS 🤣🤣🤣🤣 THIS CAR HAS SO MANY MODULES THAT WILL NO DOUBT FAIL ❗️
Just did one this weekend. What a car. We dropped it down and put wheels on it. What beautiful ride
Gone are the days of sleek and beautiful 7 series.
10 to 20 years from now there will be a trend reversal: Analog gauges and physical buttons will be considered a hallmark of craftsmanship and luxury -- not cheap cost cutting screens and touch capacitive garbage.
I don't think we will have to wait that long for this to happen. Audi is already going back to more buttons and switches.
its funny how more people don't realize that manufacturers are doing the cheap screens as cost cutting measure. you literally need no interior designers anymore. just stick a tablet in there with some apps built in and call it a day
@@omidnamin9004 It’s sad that you think it’s that simple to design an interior, regardless of screens.
Go look at a Pagani for the ultimate example of what you describe.
Just like wrist watches...
They should put the theater monitor in the X7
BMW FOR LIFE BABE!!! I love my 2008 760Li
Definitely unique looking 😵💫! The interior is super busy and I’m all for tech…but…bloody hell 😵💫😵
By 'unique' you mean ugly?🤣
@@cisky1972bland and soulless W223 doesn’t look any better or drives better in person
@@seansiew5629 I believe the soul purpose of this class is passenger comfort and amenities. Less emphasis on driver. I wouldn't want this to be a daily driver car. Step down to E class or 5 series if that's what you want. IMO
@cisky1972 well this is more luxurious than the w223,as I sat in both, the w223 meanwhile with its faulty hybrid system pisses people off with its unreliability
Although a bit wild, I do like the interior. Nice to see something other than black leather too!
Agreed.
I’ve never been a BMW fan per-say, but hot damn the interior looks spectacular. Now If only the prince from Africa whom I’d sent $1000 and my bank info to help him get his $5,000,000 inheritance hit me back with my share, I’ll be able to get me one 😂
Spectacular
Starting MSRP of the 6 cylinder is 96k. I guess the comparison to rolls Royce, another brand that laughs at questions pertaining to value, makes sense. Kinda sucks when you're old enough to remember that BMW used to mean fun. Now it's a Mercedes knock off with a pillow like ride. Great review of the positives, but I would imagine anyone wanting an s class will just get one.
Wow! BMW really opened up a can of ugly for this thing...good lord!
My only complaint with the 7 is the upgraded Bowers & Wilkins sound - I don’t like how the seat vibrates, even on its lowest setting. Also, not sure if its legal or not, but with the Tv down, you cannot see out of the mirror - they should’ve used an electrical rear view mirror that can use the rear camera to show you whats behind you (I hope that makes sense?)
Besides that, those Automatic doors never gets old 😂😂😂😭 and they did a super good job with the Panoramic SkyLounge LED Roof 🤙
I feel but me personally they should had made an option on a opening sunroof
What a fabulous car, but I can't stand that front end. Maybe they'll fix it at facelift time. The S-Class is far more elegant exterior wise.
Once my M 850 GC goes back, this one comes.
36 speakers!?!? 🔊 🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊
I need a review on the new Mercedes-Benz s580

If it only had the same 2024 5 Series headlights. I'm not a fan of these Hyundai Santa Fe inspired ones. Not cool.
I own this vehicle and I love it! It’s not without its qualms though. One of my auto doors just stopped working from inside. Numerous times the screens completely “blacked out” and a few other quirks that have been remedied by software updates. All in all, I still LOVE this vehicle, and that’s coming from an S Class. It’s commanding and it’s road presence is unparalleled (currently). It looks modern and is a perfect blend of technology and luxury.
Thinking about getting one when my 850 goes back. What`s your opinion after another 6 months of ownership?
Well, Steve... I can see you being chauffeured around while sitting in that luxurious backseat environment. Given this level of luxury, this beautiful sedan provides, I can't help but wonder if the driver may end up distracted by all of the bells and whistles and abient lighting, and, and, and...
After a couple of days I felt really comfortable with the controls. But I would say that if tech isn't your thing then this may be overwhelming.
@@stevehammes I concur. The test car is more for limo services than a daily drive use.
“Budget”
There is another way in which it compares to Rolls. I find both brutalist and ugly in videos and photos, but in person the sheer presence of each is breathtaking.
Well said!
You deserve more views. Nice.
I appreciate that!
When Steve doesn't talk about external design, you know it's hideous😅. Also, @ Steve: Are u saying that a digital rearview Camera is NOT an option? Also, how much was your test car?
That's right...not an option! $132k
What a brutal decoy for people suffering cataract
For $97-120,000 you’d think they’d put in an electric rear view camera with that screen thing. Wtf.
I’m trying to give them grace by assuming legality reasons is why they didn’t. That said, I believe the TV belongs in the X5/X7. As someone who gets carsick easily, if I were to be chauffeured in a 7 with that TV? I would never use it, but again, it’s because I get carsick real easily! Lol
It's about time Bavarian Motor Dubya made a "po boy's Roller" at an S Class price.
I want a base model with cruise control and no sun roof (fyi)
Why don't you treat yourself?
@@stevehammes It's a toss-up with a pauper's Bentley: Toyota Avalon
Me gusta Bmw
Okay Steve, would you rather have this BMW or the Audi S8?
S8 for sure. Much more understated
The S8 feels like it's from a different era...I prefer this.
I’ve always been told to not be so close to a screen. I thikk I’d become ill
Oh nice, the V8 still continues to exist. In Europe you don't get it unless you order the high-security, protected version.
As a lover and owner of mid and full-size luxury sedans, and understanding that no car is perfect, this is probably the first full-size luxury sedan where the exterior styling is an absolute utter total dealbreaker. This car is one of the ugliest sedans I have ever seen. The interior is gorgeous and they offer three powerful engine options which I like. But the outside of the car is so disgustingly ugly that I could never ever lease or purchase one of these. Such a shame.
Only $132K 😂
It’s the most distracting car to drive. Endless animations and pc system for operation
When the kidney grills are your iconic design element, why would you obscure them with a same color black lower valence piece.
I would rather use Apple VIsion Pro to watch a movie than that screen that covers up the glass roof.
You sound like an infomercial voice over
You look like a bear.
Best German brand 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I saw the i7 on the freeway, it was as ugly as SIN
Since Mazda is copy BMW old infotainment systems for years now sooooooo why don’t they copying the new iDrive 8 infotainment system at least they will have something new in their vehicles
BMW is improving again. Bit busy inside and out. The styling is a 5/10 brought down by the ugly wheel fitment and busy snout. But the tech and luxurious experience are awesome. It's a pass for me.
7:00 You claim to be into EVs but you won't review cars from the company that started it all or not just the best selling EV but the best selling car in the world. Odd.
Won't? More like they won't. I even have a video on my channel covering the opening of the local Supercharger but communication has broken down.
Had the car for a year. Nice car but frustrating. The tech is a mess. I had a 3 series 15 years a ago that had better voice command. The electronics have a mind of its own. BMW needs to go back to basics on the tech. NOT RECOMENDED!
That’s really too bad! I had nothing go haywire on me for the week I had it. And I really loved that car. Drove it to Washington DC and back and had a great experience.
I can't figure out who copied Nissan Rouge ? The front of this BMW is ugly 😅
I’d only lease that thing. Waaay too much electronics
These high end cars are nothing but computers and computers. Don't want that.
BMW is having an identity crisis with those weird ugly grills
It’s so tacky lol. Too many features for those who are wowed by shiny objects and tv screens
No thank you. If I win the lotto, I will sink my money into a restored 1996 Chevy Impala SS or a restored 2010 Lincoln Continental Signature. I am a boomer, I hate all those computerized gizmos, don't like an electric vehicle and don't care for any oohs and ahhhs of the younger crowd, I am closer to dying than when I was younger anyway.
🤮
I'd imagine we wont be seeing too many of these ugly automobiles on the road thankfully
Looks horrible and im sure in 10 years all this tech will be dated.
LOUSY FRONT DESIGN
cannot stand that ugly front end, the old model is a way nicer from exterior
its hideous
Man, that thing is UGLY and loaded with unreliable, complicated tech.
I'd rather have a Tesla Model S Plaid and save the $30K difference.
Yea but Tesla has horrible build quality than a BMW, more complains on a Tesla than a BMW
Paint, rattles, and panel gaps were pretty bad about five years ago. It's radically improved on new models.
Tesla keeps improving. BMWs have been unreliable for 30 years. Terrible resale values.
@haze1123 I guess you are an Elon Musk dickrider than a BMW fanboy, come back to me with your reliability "goodness" try comparing your Tesla to a Toyota
Ugly horrible car, a really disappointing styling, I'm glad I have the previous g11 model, still the best 7 series, if I must upgrade I won't go for the new 7 series. Rather the 5 series or Mercedes e class
If you are concerned about the looks of the 7, the new 5 is certainly no prize. It looks like an oversized 2 Series GC.
@@jddavisnyc I agree the new 5 is like a bigger 2 series, looks OK though, but that massive grill on the 7 was a terrible idea, it's like a person having a pair of big ears and tiny nose, it doesn't fit in, everything must blend into each other
It's a HORRIBLE looking car
So ugly..... BMW has lost its design mojo....
5 YEARS FROM NOW...CAR WILL BE WORTHLESS DUE TO THE 4.4 TWIN TURBO V8....
Nope. That v8 will save it
@@stardustbilermam1736 THE ROD BEARINGS WILL BLOW UP JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER BMW V8 ENGINE IN THE PAST 20 YEARS ❗️
@@liltony514 still worth it. People who can buy v8 can afford
@Stardust Bilermam RIGHT BUT THEY CANT AFFORD THEM REPAIR BILLS 🤣🤣🤣 LOOK HOW MUCH 5 YEAR OLD 760IL ARE WORTH...PROBABLY 10-15K. ITS BECAUSE THE 4.4 TWIN TURBO HOT VEE IS HOTT TRASH 🗑 EVEN ON M MODEL CARS
If you worry about residual value, you can`t afford the car.
It’s the most distracting car to drive. Endless animations and pc system for operation
