Stuart Hamm was back then already such an accomplished player - got to know him during this time and is more or less my favourite bass player. Love it when he plays double basss melodies, which he sometimes pulls of in live versions of Satriani's songs!
Pretty much what I saw in Albany NY back then, at the Palace Theater. Joe Satriani and that Stu Hamm solo. Great show, but they should advertise more, because I miss shows at these small venues, like I saw them at the Palace Theater Albany NY.
Prob the only bass solo imcorporating moonlight sonata and foggy mountain breakdown EVER. hahahahh crazy. Took some gonads to do that live.

One of the top bassist alive
AH, so this is where Satch learned the tapping technique for Midnight??? I'll bet Stu's tapping caused Satch to learn that. His timing was impeccable.
Probably Jennifer Batten

why wouldn't you name the guy doing the playing? I love Joe S, but he's not the one playing this solo.
He's Stuart Hamm.
Beethoven would of been just like our best guitar players today... girls drooling over him and everyone jamming to his tunes
sad thing is, guitarists today don't really matter
