Snap Monetization is killing Free to Play players!

- The lack of Gold Bundles and the excessive amount of cash bundles is putting a bad taste in player's mouths. I enjoyed playing on my free to play account, but that's over. I hope the Free2Play base has some great things coming to is.
Shoutout to @AlexanderCoccia for bringing the much needed attention to this topic. Rewatching this, I think Cozy is genuinely in a hard spot and is hurting from this. We all are. Respect for you both. Keep it up!
TLDR for Legends of Runeterra: It was easy to obtain all the cards in the game if you were a dedicated F2P player. The only monetization was cosmetic i.e. cardbacks, character skins, and playmats where your cards were put down. However, one thing that Cozy didn't bring up was the long breaks between patches so certain decks/cards were unbalanced. That's what actually hurt the game, people stopped playing ranked and shifted towards Path of Legends (a rogue-like single player mode). The lack of a good ranked mode hurt the game and people stopped playing/took a break and focused on single player. In Snap, it would be similar to the Zabu/Surfer season, were only 2 decks were viable for a long ass time.
In other games in excited to open packs, in snap im terrified when the time comes to open spotlights
I feel you on this so much
I wanted to get copycat, only had 3 keys, didn't get her, had to grind hard for the 4th key, but now I'm afraid that I'm going to miss out on blob unless I get lucky and get him in 1 or 2 keys. Not confident I will get it.
I'm f2p, and currently at 20 keys stocked. just waiting for a perfect bundle where i need the 3 cards to spend it lmao.
@@DeknasAnimated You sound like someone who makes many bad decisions in their life.
@eliassideris2037 *shrugs*
Well...I appreciate your attempt to summerize me based on a f2p game I play.
Cozy takes his criticism really careful, I feel like he fears lose his close relationship with SD. And it sucks look him defending predatory mobile tactics.
they are putting out way too many cards, it is hard to keep up as f2p or even low spender. Then it is quite frustrating to see all the big streamers get every new card instantly while you miss more and more key cards. But whatever still a nice casual fun. Also spotlight caches tend to give me variants all the time xD
It might be somewhat unreasonable to spend no money and still expect to have the same experience as people who play the game for a living
@@tyruslawhorn they still put out too many cards in very short cycles. At some point the balancing will break completely
As an exclusively F2P Player, I've felt mostly that I am able to build almost any deck I want if I am picky about cards I get. The last few months I have generally felt less and less interested in keeping up, and I couldn't pinpoint why. I think you've broken it down really well, and focusing on Coccia's points helped a lot. I have a stockpile of Gold (and credits and keys as well honestly) and have no clue when to use any of them, and I find myself watching Coccia's videos on his review of every card to see if I want to spend or not.
Those were my feelings exactly with my F2P account. I'd like to suggest watching Educated Collins as well. He's been pretty spot on with a lot of his takes on cards.
Just started watching him today.
Alex and megamogui also have honest reviews
My gold cycle is always building up enough gold to unlock the mystery variant to build towards the 2000 tokens. By paying no attention to variants and all attention to unlocking new cards you can stay competitive. Focusing on variants is the realm of whales. Snap is ridiculously expensive for cosmetics.
Coccia's talking point surprised me a lot, and he got my respect back for it. He made a video a long time ago defending all the BS Second Dinner was saying. He basically said to "give them a break," and talked about them being a "small company," and blah blah blah. Seeing him speak up against them was great.
The cost for 1 card is 500 pesos at cheapest, then 3000 to 6000 ea in my country
And you can feed a family for 2 days for 500.
And THOSE cards are usually the Meta cards/OP cards that are new and arent nerfed.
And then you buy them and they get nerfed a week later. =(
@@KalthoonSnapsexactly
What he is trying to say the cost for stupid shit of a virtual card costs the same price as food to feed a family
i dont pay any money into this game, no bundles, no season pass, i am series 3 complete im missing like 20 cards and i cant complain about the progress with carefull planning, but then they fucking change spotlights in the last second for which i planned for for months now and thats what pisses me off
And wrost thing is after s3 complete you don’t get nothing from cl witch is not good they need to change this
@@ChamalMcv yea, im only collecting the 50 credits and the boosters, no need to open caches
but you get variants from them right? i m still mid series 3 @@cycle1990
@@ChamalMcv yes you can get 700 gold variants aka pixels, which im not interested in
so after series 3 what to do with the game im losing hope @@cycle1990
As a non-f2p player, I feel like I can't even keep up, I can't imagine what it's like as a f2p player. The monetization is atrocious, the card acquisition is shady. I'm not even a marvel fan, I got into the game because of the mechanics, so I imagine given how popular marvel/superheroes are, the game could do just fine financially without being scummy.
This is exactly what i put in the feedback survey they sent out. There's just no chance to keep up with META decks which are WAY to strong and destroy everything you can reasonable obtain as F2P
Great to hear! Thanks for leaving that feedback!
21:00 Glenn Jones is not co-founder of SD. He wasn't even on team at launch iirc, he joined few months after.
Besides that, good video.
Thank you. I was under the impression that Glen was one of the founders. That would be Yong Woo who I was thinking of according to their website. I appreciate the correction.
I've lost so much respect for Cozy and gained so much for Alex over the past year. Seeing Cozy start from the beta and looking forward to his videos and then seeing him and Dexster in the season videos, hosting tournaments, having way too many god splits and also knowing the creator program gives you 500 gold a month, etc and then just now watched Alex open 100 caches and seeing his passion really puts Cozy on the side of cringe.
Dude, you are so damn correct. I have only been playing and watching for a month or two, but I have come to the same sad conclusion. Cozy is a massive SD shill and dicksucker. He will never say anything bad about SD. About the monetization, he literally said he didn't think it was that bad. Despite probably dropping absurd amounts of money on the game lol.
Cozy’s defense was completely expected. Word for word I could already tell where he was going with what he was saying. Smh
Cozy is a mobile gamer and spender at heart though. That's how he made his TH-cam career before Snap. So yes you are exactly right, his response was expected.
He is sd sellout lol. He cant shit at the hand that feeds him @@mchlup
I started playing the day Snap was released. Since then I’ve completed every single daily task and purchased the season pass every month and the occasional bundle, yet I’m still missing cards! I’m not even a F2P player and it’s impossible to keep up. Even though I spend money and play quite a lot!
Cards are locked behind a paywall (season pass). Cards cost too many tokens to buy, considering it takes months to save up enough to buy just one. A new card is released every week but can take 4x spotlight keys to unlock it. The average player only gets 1 key per week. So having to spend a months worth of keys on a new card, automatically puts you behind.
The most annoying part is how Second Dinner advertise the game as being F2P friendly and how you can’t just spend hundreds of dollars to get all the cards. Yet, they sell bundles that include credits (which progress you along the reward track and give you spotlight keys) and bundles now straight up include Spotlight Keys!
I had a blast going through series 1 and 2 but man that wall you hit entering series 3. The one time I spent money was on Mrs. Marvel and started having a blast again but then she got tweaked and I couldn't keep up with any of the other new cards that continued to come out. That's what made me mad, I actively spent money on a card that fit what I was having fun with and then it got changed, I no longer have trust in paying for cards.
you're late to the party
@@alifnaufal in what way? People start the game all the time. They haven't changed how collecting cards works. Anyone starting now would run into the same issue. I've watched them tweak several cards now shortly after releasing them, conveniently waiting a few weeks to get everyone's money and then nerfing a card. If someone is just getting into the game I hope they see this and learn faster than I did.
you are what makes this game so terrible. Honestly don't buy anything and then things will change. Can't stand people who whine and while dumping money.@@penguinwarcry
@@ANAKIN2O3 🤣 yea I'm not going to ignore negative business practices. The game in its basics is fun but im not going to be quite when I see a company making clear money decisions that fuck customers. Go simp for the business elsewhere.
I had the same experience. My pool 3 pulls were probably about as bad as anyone could imagine. I pulled like 3 playable cards from 486-1000. So its been a struggle to rise through the ladder ranks when all of my opponents have much stronger cards than I do.
As a free Player I can vouch to this, even the keys are being devalued if you have 0 dollars spent, those spotlights are harder to hit and free players have little chances to get those already.
Thanks for coming out and sharing your perspective on this, if FTPs speak out against the change in monetization there can be great change here
I'm going to make a video on possible changes and more thoughts, but one big one is I don't mind these big bundles. I don't want LESS of them. I want MORE gold bundles.
My thought is that it isn't SD, it is nuverse cash grabbing before the doors close
I’ve been f2P since the nebula season. I’ve never once felt the need to spend money in this game. This is easily one of the best games on mobile for F2P players. That said they can improve on some of it.
Yeah, I don't understand people crying about the monetization. The game is literally pay to look pretty. I have yet to see a more F2P friendly game than Snap
@@MrNaptyme it has p2w aspects no doubt as all mobile or card games do. This one is just far more lenient than every other one I played.
@dakotamanns2644 depends on how you define p2w. The closest thing you could consider P2W would be the Season Pass, but even then, there are several competitive decks that can be built without spending a dime on the game so I just find it pretty ridiculous to say the game is P2W or not F2P friendly.
@@MrNaptyme " I have yet to see a more F2P friendly game than Snap".. At least do your research before commenting a dumb one..
Legends of runeterra is one example of a very f2p friendly card game that died due to being too much f2p friendly..

Hahaha! Mine was Bast for $50 and 6k credits. What a joke!
@@Chapterhouse86 it just comes off as soooo desperate and predatory!
It's great that those content creators want to give constructive criticism but unfortunately the company doesn't and won't care at all. They're not interested in making a good product, they're interested in maximizing profits. The ONLY way you will see backpedal on this monetization is if it ends up making them less money. Unfortunate.
That’s far from the truth. Ben cares so much about making a great card game. He did all the research for awesome gameplay.
@@danielalvarez3499 I believe it's a bit of both from you and Entri. I do believe Ben does care about Marvel Snap. But we don't know all the happenings behind the scenes. Even those in charge have people in charge of them. In this case, Nuverse or their investors need to see more profit and different tactics to continue investing in the game.
If these tactics end up making them LESS money, then we may see a change bringing the game back to a more player friendly monetization format with still some of these big bundles.
@@danielalvarez3499 Yet his main selling point is "you can't just buy all the cards", which isn't even true.

But thier loot boxes...Were scams.
For me, I don't really mind how many paid bundles exist and how much they cost, it's more about what the experience is like for f2p vs sp vs whale, and what the access to meta decks is like for those groups. If f2p had more access and more agency over card acquisition, then it wouldn't matter how much cosmetic items the whales have, it's the fact that those many paid bundles are necessary to keep pace with the meta even more so with the progression value of the gold bundles when they do appear.
The greed is astounding, and he's right. Not just this game bureven console game's
As a FTP. I can barely break into rank 90 in the ladder. I honey stopped trying.
Hit infinity once almost a year ago.
Always hit 79-89 then lose 8-12 games in a row to the card of the month.
I have spent money, but the card is almost always nerfed in a few weeks.
Monetization on thus is INSANE. That, coupled with far too many new cards and far too few spotkight keys, gold, and token drops is crazy.
And if you DO save for a particular card, odds are theyll nerf it if its at all good by then
Alex has become the only Snap content creator that I actively watch and subscribe to for this reason. He seems like the only one not just saying something about this issue but actively bringing it up and pushing for us free to play players that don't have much of a voice. I watch his streams and he brings it up every stream.
Like how people use argument of snap being greedier than Runeterra to survive. But Snap is also much greedier than DL, Gvent, Hearthstone and MD. Probably more than all of the above combined.
At least snap is THE ONLY ONE of them who uses fomos (the most degenerative instrument in gaming world) as their main way to push sales.
Not sure about coccia, but cozy is definitely not plays, but full-time employed as a devil's advocate here. I am absolutely convinced that he straight up works for sd.
Man, I miss LOR such a good game, but I guess you need to have greedy monetization to survive.
You need money to survive 🤷♂️
I used to reliably buy the season pass and some small bundles. I stopped spending in protest of the ridiculously greedy bundles this year and the total lack of gold bundles. I enjoy the game, but im not subsidizing this nonsense.
I am sitting on more than 10.000 gold and there is no gold bundle that seems good. I am paying for season pass since January 2023 and I am hitting infinity for the last 8-9 seasons… I will not pay real cash for anything else except season pass. I feel bad for newer people :(
But how about that new She Hulk gold bundle! It's cool.... right?.... right? Ughhhhh
@@KalthoonSnaps :)))) not
Im more concerned about the op cards behind the keys and thatbyou have to spend 4 sometimes to get the new op card.
Cosmetics are OPTIONAL. If they want to put them up for a 1000 let them. But make new cards more accesible....
To me as someone who only buys the battle passes I can keep up very well but I can definitely see what y'all mean. They should definitely do something about this so the game is not just for the people that wanna drop 10 bucks every month.
It's like the game is designed to push f2p players into either being addicted through fomo or getting stomped by whales to the point of frustration into quitting.
Just deleted my F2P account - I just can't do it anymore, never being able to compete with paid players on near equal terms. It's an endless soul-sucking grind that I'm so glad to be done with. I wish I never started to begin with.
Yeah as an almost f2p player I only buy the battle pass. We have 5 new cards per season now and because the spotlight system is Russian roulette I have to save 4 spotlight keys to guarantee a card, and trust me on this cause I spent 3 spotlight keys and did not get pixie. And now I have no keys for at least the next 2 spotlights and btw I play everyday I do all my dailes reach infinite every season. And now I will only get 1 new card this season like how do I f2p players keep up with that we have absolutely no chance of getting all the new cards not even half of them. At bare minimum I should have to only spend 3 keys to guarantee one but 4! That’s just to much
I just came back in February quit after modok season pass I always played my fav characters & stuff I like over the meta all these content creators say man-thing sucks but I loved his variant this week so I spent my 4 keys got it & reached infinite for first time in the 5 or 6 seasons I’ve played with the manthing/serra deck I made which they say isn’t great compared to discard/destroy/tribunal/hela etc…think it’s best to go after what you enjoy sure I love watching cozy/cocchia input but I did terrible with the mockingbird deck cozy made so I stuck with what I enjoy & next target is Jeff in spotlight cause he looks flexible/fun
@@GorbombZombay I do completely agree with u. I set my goal to reach infinite with mr negative no matter what and it’s been the most fun I’ve had playing snap in a while. I’ve reached infinite several times already but this is the most fun I’ve had doing it, I’m at 90 almost there
Yeah just gotta have/make your own fun if you get caught up in the need for every new card itl just be a drag…like when game came out I knew Juggernaut/xmen & guardians galaxy few others but it got me into watching more marvel movies big horror nut so liked werewolf by night…but that’s my fun take juggernaut manthing starlord characters I like & try and win some games with em ina deck even if they don’t synergize 😂
Im a mostly F2P player ive only bought 3 season passes so far. Of those season pass cards i barely use any. I do often feel handcuffed with deck building usually i can make 2-3 full top 10 decks on a good week. That said I have multiple infinity conquest banners and ive made it to infinity on every season but two. It does feel bad bad not fun some days but i think you can still be competitive by only focusing on getting S-tier cards. Hold onto spotlight keys until you see a critical building block and dont spend money on anything but a season pass and most are not mandatory (i didn't even buy the Loki pass)
Somehow i am being able to be competitive with more than 6 decks being a F2P player, but I am being very lucky with my choices so far. But I play almost since the game has been launched.
The only S tier cards I don't own are:
White Widow
Red Guardian
Cannonball
Blink
So, I think the f2p model in this game is not optimal, but not terrible. You can focus on some archetypes that you have a good base. But may be too hard for someone starting a collection right now.
great vid. thanks for speaking out for the game many of us love
you have great takes mate, thoroughly enjoyed the video
F2P and I’m missing 25 total cards. I’m mediocre at the game and play whatever I feel like, I’m cool with losing and really just play till the daily missions are done or conquest until I get the variant. Pin the card you want most or series cards you can buy faster. Only open caches you know will give you 3/4 chance of adding to your collection. Skip weeks that are new card or bust. And sometime you need to use gold on a variant you don’t like to get rewards in the card collections
How dare you besmirch the good name of Alex Coccia. He's not cringe, you're cringe. Ya...take that.
Sorry for the repeated comments. Many of the comic book artists have confirmed they don't make any money at all really. Most of the stuff is from an already established Marvel catalogue (Marvel Snap pays for those art rights I believe). Both Artgerm and Rian Gonzalez confirmed on Twitter that their ''cut'' for a drawing is basically non-existent because it's for Marvel and Marvel gives it to Snap. They get zero subsidies from any bundle sold with their art. The only thing Snap does is bring attention to them so that people know who they are and can sell their originals in private.
This is fascinating! I have to look this up and see what I can find out too. Thank you for commenting this!!!! I'll look for Artgerm and Rian on Twitter. If you'd like to send me any more, please do!
@@KalthoonSnaps It was posted a long time ago when people were stating that the artists must be making crazy money for their work on Marvel Snap, which just isn't the case. Cozy even interviewed Dan Hipp and in that interview he even said it brings lots of players to his original commission work. Cozy himself bought 3-4 Dan Hipp originals (he's mentioned it in their podcast a few times).
I took a massive break from the game, ever since I saw the lack of gold bundles and the constant nerfs to season pass cards. You'd save tokens (for months) for a card and buy it, and then they nerf it into the ground. Anyways, when they release those surveys and ask, would you recommend this game to a friend? HELL NO! New F2P players don't have a chance in hell of catching up to players that have played for 2 years.
Legends of runetera was very free to play friends, very much like how snap first was climbing the pools fast, runetera never really changed that and they've had to cut the multiplayer from the game essentially to be able to still fund the game, which made quite a lot of people drop out
With respect to Nuverse, it is possible that financially they made back their investment in the launch year of Snap, expect profits to decline moving forward (with a sharp decline in new players), and just want to sell their share and rights and cash out. Also China's new policy banning predatory gacha games is also certainly pertinent.
I think I said I'm not sure exactly what was happening at Nuverse for this to happen, but your point is one I didn't fully consider. It makes sense, and the games popularity has gone down since initial release, as all games do. I also didn't know that China policy went through. It's been a while since I followed up on it and that makes sense for pushing more cash bundles.
How have people not noticed that with there is no such thing as f2p you're paying with money or your time depends on which is more important to you and as for the bundles here the dirty little secret dont buy them you dont NEED them you WANT them they're cosmetics
You know what would solve the whole expensive thing. Free to play thing. They should just get rid of free to play. Like if every free to play game was just a monthly subscription or you were not allowed to play then there wouldn't be any offers. And the only things that you could buy would be like cosmetics like world of Warcraft. I'd rather pay 20 bucks a month then like having to spend like 300 just to compete
as a player who has poured a bit of money into the game, I still agree. they need to fix card acquisition.
I paid a lot more until I caught up on all the cards. then pretty much only get the pass now. so I'm behind 10 or 12 cards.
there are so many ways for SD to make money in the game. and I promise the whales are doing their part to keep the game afloat. but the whales are gonna leave if f2p also leaves because then we only playing against bots....
Bro is complaining that there are no gold bundles - only counts gold bundles which comes with cosmetics (which are primarily variants) - then explains how he has so much gold because he doesnt like buying variants. Dude like gg bro idk what to tell you
People don’t realize the collection process is part of the game and are surprised they don’t get everything for free when it’s right in front of them.
The suits at the company dont care about us poor players.
The only way to free to play this game is to have played daily since release and making no "mistakes" when spending your resources. For anyone who started later, there is no catching up, ever
I already knew Dekkster and Cozy are "game changers" (friends of SD. They even appear in the promotional season videos!). I though Alex was too. Happy & glad to be proven wrong. Gwent is another example of a GREAT card game with a terrible monetization that made it not sustainable.
Runeterra had the most generous monetization of any card game I've ever played, to the detriment of the long term viability of the game. If you played, even a casual amount, you had enough currency to have every single card on release without spending anything. I loved the game, and its decline has shifted my viewpoint from, "why can't more games monetize like Runeterra" to being more understanding of a company's need to make money. I think SNAP walks the line of fair, but sustainable monetization decently well, especially when compared to games, like MTG:Arena. The steep drop off in gold bundles is annoying, and I think the devs should address the logic behind the change, and their long term plans for gold bundles, so expectations can be properly set. Could be wrong, but it feels like the lack of bundles is meant to drive spending on album variants.
virtual stuff for games should not be this much money, im starting to lose interest in snap, because i keep on falling behind at the rate at which new cards get released, $100 dollars is nuts thats like R1500 in my currency which is super nuts you can literally do so much with that money its insane. there needs to be regulations put in place for these types of games.
@23:48 he doesn’t feel like he needs to spend money to have fun because he’s not a new player
I'm a few cards away from s3 complete and for a while any keys got me a new powerful card but I fear the wall that is coming where I need a ton of tokens to get new cards and spotlights will be mostly variants. the cynical part of me wonders if this is how the game is supposed to work- people play for a while until you plateu and quit
You say that it's dumb the defense of it's a mobile game so it has to be expensive. But if snap chose to like make it affordable like they would probably go out of business, they wouldn't be making that much money. That's another reason why mobile games charge so much. Even the profitable ones go out of business.
I don't disagree with you but nobody has to purchase these bundles. I personally only grab the season pass and treat it like a monthly subscription service. Other purchases I skip I am currently only missing around 7 cards. I feel like I'm keeping up for the most part. I am super picky on what cards I use tokens on in the game. I try to pick 1 card out every 2 months and this tends to work out very good for me. I do wish they would change monetization in the game because anything over $15 in cost is just stupid imho.
Well i have a friend he is playing since april last year from Hit Monkey Season pass he never bought a season pass or paid for the game for gold etc. and he is Straight Infinite from May onwards. So yes Free to Play can be Infinite
I made a F2P account when it was the Xmen season last year. Made infinite every month except the month Resident Evil 2 came out, and last month. It's very possible, but sometimes not as fun when you see the gold you've been collecting has less and less fun things to be used on.
@@KalthoonSnaps True they even reduced the tokens from the gold bundles which is kinda shame.
They should use this game strictly as a MARKETING for marvel. Which works REALLY GREAT. I've watched a few movies just because i play the game, have never watched any marvel movie before.
Sure, they need SOME money to pay for the development, but that should be all. I don't get why they are aiming for such a profit. F2P takes age to take the gap, mainly for the late starters, that are starting now. And for P2W u would still need thousands of dollars to be revelant at all. The whole monetization doesn't make sense.
i normally don't comment on videos at all. I fully agree for the average player there current model will alienate us and we all know what happens next, another amazing game dies due to corporate greed.
i play it for free with good results, you can't expect to be fully competitive by not paying
This is more relevant today than ever. I'm done!
It's intentional. They're bleeding you dry under the guise of "buying" cards when you're really just buying into a shit gacha mechanic.
It feels pretty disingenuous to count absolutely everything including webshop offers for cash bundles and then cherry pick what counts as a gold bundle. You could make the same point without faking your numbers.
I am cerain the for you bundles are ai genererated for each individual. And the ai is instructed to use your playing habbits and collection to extract as much monst as possible .
Also I am a F2Player and I use google rewards surveys to get stuff once in a while , I even had a streamer give me a pass for Gwen pool right before the season expired. When the gold bundles changed and I realized it I stopped even thinking about gold bundles, the biggest change to me was the realization that there would never be a series 4 or 5 card in one any more, so the I could never get a new card as I could before. What I did end up doing was buying variants from the shop with my gold , buying only the cheapest 700g variants ,unless it got me a reward in that album , this also does the variant shop buy 10 get 2000 tokens. I think what they want is the F2P doing more playing to engaging with the system to get them . I think a lot of this is due to trying to keep some metric high , concurrent players , daily logins . I see more obfuscation in the future but I haven't left yet because I still like the core gameplay, minus the snapping mechanic which is my other least favorite part of the game .
My friend got offered a $100 base card moon knight bundle.
For me even if i spend like 30$ it feels so bad cuz i dont get much like in others card games
Huh. They have reddit on youtube now.
Honestly, all these people complaining, they want a free game and everything in the game for free, god forbid if a company wants to make good money off of a great game, your content channel is nothing jut complaining and moaning, every single video, maybe just switch to another game man or go touch some grass
I'll never understand the audacity of feeling you are owed a free game when resources have gone into making that game. How can you sit and whine about having to pay money to play a game? If you don't want to pay money to play Marvel Snap, then don't. What makes you think you're owed the right to play Snap for free?
f2p players go into it knowing that it will take longer to get what they want without paying money. SD is a company, looking to make money to keep the game going and beyond. im just tired of people being upset at that. its simple, you dont buy things even if they exist because you dont want to. move on and play, or dont.
Isn't that what he's doing? Moving on?
Theres a difference between pricing to fund the game and make a decent profit for the people involved....then theres egregious pricing. And i think SD is getting really bad about their pricing model. Every new card is a series 5 and all bundles are so badly priced that its a turn off, at least to me thats been playin since release. Blizzard does the same with hearthstone so im not all against how SD does it. The whole gsming market is getting seriously bad.
F2p players are completely fine on taking longer to get what they want, no one is complaining about that, it s the fact that this is becoming harder and harder to the point that it s almost impossible to enjoy the game and keep playing even if they love it.
And keep in mind that f2p players make the community as well as players that spend money, if not more, so by drastically decreasing the community the game will eventually die, that s it, for every fkng game in the world, community is EVERYTHING.
Literally, the game itself is free to play and still playable with BEGINNING cards!!!
Not only that but it’s only not F2P if you wanna be EXTREMELY COMPETITIVE
You definitely are not a F2P player, so you have no frame of reference. I'm happy that you like the game, but $100/$75/$50/$45/$40 bundles is crazy. It's also crazy to me that people are so quick to jump on Brode's d*ck over this. Not everyone's mommy and daddy buy them the $100 Shang-Chi bundle.
Oh, and I'm CL17,408, and am only missing 2 cards (Howard & Martyr). I'm not F2P. Not even close. It's still ridiculous. But you keep defending them. I'm sure Brode will be at your next BD party. 🙄🤣
Cozy the king of shills
Well you can thank the community for the lack of gold bundles. And the lack of leaks too. After that Sentry/Destroyer bundle fiasco where people started harassing Second Dinner employees because they expected the datamined gold bundle to be the same way they say in datamines, SD immediately shifted to almost exclusively money based bundles. Not a fan of no gold bundles either, but it's clear as light and day that they made this change and also modified what can be datamined right after that bundle. So..
Oh yeah dude, we were ungrateful and SD had to punish us! Just like they had to nerf CHRISTMAS bundle in this already stingy, convoluted and predatory game...
Would you make a game that caters to freeloaders? Or would you make a game that rewards investment? You knew what you were getting into, and this is a cold dogwater take. Play a game without transactions baked into its philosophy if you're just gonna complain.
I don't play this game, for clarity. Because I don't like the concept
Dude then just dont play , my god man…
Did you really need to spend 36 minutes explaining to your 34 subscribers that you didn't like how a 'free to play' game was a money grab like every other 'free to play' game?
I appreciated it and I wasn’t a sub. SD has ratcheted up monetization to an extreme and it’s worth calling out. I used to spend and stopped in response.
@@MapleYum You should make a 36 minute video about it.
@@penonationNo need to be salty bro. People can appreciate stuff you don't
@@samuelhunter4631 Not salty at all, I just saw an attention-seeking video and wanted to oblige.
I didn't need to make a 36 minute video, and I do not like making videos over 15 minutes. This one was an exception. I WAS considering splitting into talking about the state of the game and another reacting to their video. In the end I felt it was better to just put it all into one video.
I really feel this game deserved a more in depth criticism because of how it started. I, along with many others, really love the game and how it started, as a not very money grab feeling game. Lately, it has been. The more vocal the online community can be about this, the more hope there is that a change will happen. Don't worry, long vids like this won't happen often. I did want this reply to reflect the video though :) Wayyyyyyyyyyyy too long for what was needed. 😅
