Nice how to video, Mike. For me, the toughest part was removing the lower fairing bolts/connectors to get access to the Oil Filter. Then making sure not to turn the wrong way for the oil drain bolt. Putting the new filter on was easier than I expected. Where do you take the used oil? I have it stored but need to take it to a vehicle oil service shop for disposal. Thankfully the bike doesn't use oil like a car does.

@@BlackArroToons Hi Frank, I take the used oil and filter to the local county recycle center where they have a large tank to pour the used oil into. The used oil filter goes to the same place in a large used oil filter plastic drum. But it does set around the garage till I remember to take it along with the garbage and other recycles.

Thanks Luke! Properly manipulating those plastic push buttons are key to keeping your ferrings in good shape.

It’s pretty late but I noticed the link you sent to the oil change kit says that it’s for up to 2022 ninja 650. I also have a 2023 so I was wondering if it is still okay

Hi Tristanpage, great question... the oil change kit for a 2022 and 2023 are the same oil and filter... here is a link that lists a 2023, but it is more expensive: amzn.to/4eONRaC

Nice oil change bud! Just did the 2nd oil change on my 23 Ninja 650 the other day. Just kit 2K miles. Wanted to ask u a question-I'm sure u have heard about the "ticking" noise everyone always asks about on these bikes. I get this little backfire pop and it comes from the upper engine or air box. I only hear it when I'm coasting in gear or in gear at idle. Bike runs fine and no issues, but perplexed about what this sound is. Was thinking it may be the pair valve but don't really know. Anyways, thanks for the vids man!

Thanks Guambombrc! I have not heard of a ticking noise from the upper engine on my 2023 Ninja 650. Did you have your bike flashed? Sometimes the flash can make more backfire when they lessen the engine braking. Mine is totally stock with strong engine braking for the street. If you have a video uploaded of it on TH-cam, I could listen to the noise too.

Nice. Next will be tires and break fluid tutorial 😊
I am not mechanical and pay exorbitant fees to have a mechanic do it 😢

Hi @snappycattimesten! Yes, that back tire is showing some wear, but it has another 3k miles on it easy.
