Some advice if you’re ever stuck in a situation where you have to stay in a suspect motel, if you’re traveling, or for any other reason: 1.) Cover mirrors with the towels from the bathroom. If you plan on using the towels, replace them with any other adequately sized linens you don’t intend to use. 2.) Check the insides of ceiling fans, lamps, and telephones for audio bugs and wires. 3.) Before you go to bed, take a shower, or do anything else that would leave you in a compromised position, lever a chair up against the front door. Make sure you get the back of the chair wedged up underneath the door handle. There’s a lot of weird and evil people out there, and you don’t want to be the one person naive, trusting, or simply unlucky enough to bump into a predator.
Honestly that first game was very anxiety inducing... Woman traveling alone at night to a motel.... Sad to know that stuff like this actually happens...

I think the "first floor" thing isn't a Google translate issue. British English just calls the American English "first floor" the ground floor, and then starts numbering them.
Considering the creator might be Indian, that could make sense, as in India they partially speak British English because of the colonization in the past. Also, just because there's such poor English or grammar in the text doesn't necessarily mean it went through a translator. If you really look at the text, it actually LOOKS like how a non-native speaker would speak and type it, because they don't know the details of the language. - Like Mark said; They don't know tense, for example. That's often how a person who isn't that familiar with English tends to use English. A good translation-algorithm tends to compensate for that. - It seems way more likely that this person just improvised some text and entered it manually into the editor as well, not copied and pasted from a translator. I'm quite positive that if they'd just write the text in their own language correctly and then put it through a translator, it would yield better results. - I would also bet that, if you'd correct the text in this game, then auto-translate it and translate it back again, it would still be fine and better than this. - But I think some kid just went straight for typing out their idea in English. - I don't get why they don't just use both auto-translate and auto-correct to basically get it 100% if not 99% right. - They can make a working videogame, but not figure out Google Translate and Grammarly?... Anyway... As for the floor-thing; We do the same in The Netherlands, except we use the word "verdieping", which literally means "deepening", as it's based on the literal physical fact of the building. Which in turn also translates to "recess". But it actually implies "storey" in English. - Sometimes we also use "etage", which is probably derived from French. In any case, we also call the first floor above ground level "number 1", with an equivalent for "ground floor".
It's not cut and dry in America either. At least not in big cities I have gone on vacation too. The ground floor being also the first floor is how we do it in Oklahoma, but I distinctly remember running into several 20-plus story buildings, mostly hotels, and also Conference Centers or stadiums where it was 50/50 whether the ground floor would be listed with a G or a 1 on the elevators. Heck I remember seeing at least several instances of both, which I'm remember confusing me as a kid.

What added security?... Did TH-cam build something in?... Or are you referring to the warnings Lixian puts up?... Well, I find the warnings by editors a bit inconsistent. Because they tend to do it for the most generic "flashy effects" only, and often don't warn when it's like a flashing light or rapidly changing thing in just a part of the scene or something. They think it's not really a big deal, but it can create a severe effect of pixel-changes on a screen. Now, I tend to watch in a darker environment with a 32" monitor at arm's length, and I doubt someone who needs to be careful would do that. - But still, I've noticed pretty intense images that even make me (who is not an epileptic) squint and have a little tickle in the nerves getting no warnings and it irks me. - Like, why warn for one thing, which is a good thing, but then lack a warning on something that's still quite intense in the same video?... It seems kind of a risk-trap. But oh well.
In "Never Open The Door", I think by "shifted" and "shifting" they mean "moved" and "moving". Pretty sure this game was translated from another language.

One of my favorite things about Mark and Lixians videos vs other youtubers is the balance in volume! It almost goes unrecognized but it adds sm to the quality. Some advice if you’re ever stuck in a situation where you have to stay in a suspect motel, if you’re traveling, or for any other reason:
1.) Cover mirrors with the towels from the bathroom.

I think the "first floor" thing isn't a Google translate issue. British English just calls the American English "first floor" the ground floor, and then starts numbering them.
We do that in south america as well.

I'm not epileptic myself but I've got to say that the added security for those watching these videos with that condition is appreciated.
As an epileptic, I entirely agree!
I'm a person with epilepsy. (I'm not PC but epileptic is an outdated term) and I completely agree. Not every TH-camr has that amount of consideration
