"I am a paying customer and you cannot ask me to leave!"
probably one of the most realistic games I've seen in years
The only response: "I'm not actually _asking_ you to leave. I'm _telling_ you to leave. That can be either on your own accord or in the back of a police car."
Karens should never be coddled or placated, even in the name of "customer service," but should instead meet maximum resistance from the very outset.
Just shoot them
Is that a Karen I hear?
@@OddlyIncredible That's literally how I termed the report. "A Karen wouldn't leave a store".
"You don't have the right to know my name."
"If you say so Karen."
I always wonder how Lixian feels when he gets the original clip of Mark just staring blankly into the camera while opening his mouth repeatedly
Like it's just another day probably.
He’d probably be questioning for a few seconds but then be like “wait… this is Mark… why do I question this if it’s normal at this point 😀”

@@irishboy6965 Pretty much, yeah. Made him not feel worthless I guess
Yeah, the more intense the call got the more intense that monster got, almost to personify inner anxiety. Even watching Mark play that was wildly uncomfortable.
nice pfp it was like mine couple of months ago :DD
The truly evil part about 087 is that there’s no elevator back up. You’re probably walking for days on end, for miles, when you finally give up and decide to call it quits. Then you have to go all the way back up. I’d just make my home in the stairwell.
Good news you'll probably be devoured by the biomass before all that so no having to die alone in a creepy stairs
You'd have to feed off of SCP-087 itself, so you'd probably have to bring a source of fire and preferably a dish or a knife.
At least you get your steps in
I would kill myself straight up like na I ain't living there
Come rest by the fire traveler.

Actual 911 Operator and EMT here. That last one had me laughing at first (the funny calls are more realistic than you know) turn to crying at the end (the serious call is also very realistic and hit me very close to home). This is the first time I've let myself cry in years... Thank you Mark for what you do as well, I often watch your videos to decompress after a rough shift.
Thank you for helping many lives out there in trouble, you're truly a hero :)
This sounds really weird and messed up and passive aggressive, but I’m glad you cried. Coming from someone who also can’t cry anymore, it’s actually genuinely frustrating that I’m so unable to just break down & let it all out anymore. I remember having lil breakdowns but always always being okay after & almost feeling like a weight was lifted.
Now I’m basically void of emotions and actually lack the ability to cry. There’s been a couple times that I tried to force myself which just pissed me off and made me black it all out even more - the literal opposite of what I was trying to do. I miss that almost freeing feeling, and the fact that I was usually really happy after doing so it (am I just proving I’m an unstable bipolar rn??? who, somehow, at the same time can’t feel a thing?) (yes)
All this to say I’m happy for you for crying. I’m glad you cried. You deserve to be able to let it out 🖤

Exactly! 👏
That last game was amazing. The fact that whatever the person’s problem is on the other line happens in real time, is such an interesting way to go about it.
I think it’s a symbolism for blaming yourself when a call goes wrong. Because they relied on you and one quick wrong decision could be tragic.

The last game's concept is cool. It didn't really need the demon/monster to be scary/interesting.
I agree the monster wasn't needed. I think the horror should come from making the right/wrong decisions for the people you're assisting. Their lives on the line. Maybe even adding a timer might increase the challenge factor
i think it was a metaphor for guilt and trauma
@@eraart7234 It was part of the original scary story the game is based off of

As a security officer myself, mark, i can confirm we patrol parking garages. We look for damages, car break ins, and sometimes you have to tell people not to have sex in their car then ruin their night. Or you find a dead body in their vehicle because they passed out drunk and left their car running up against a wall... but on the other end of the horrifying spectrum you just might find a roach... ye.
Roaches are scary
HAVE U EVER FOUND SOMEONE DEAD THO ?
(SORRY FOR CAPS, KEY STUCK)
@Nathan da Silva
Yes, unfortunately. 1 man passed away after he drove home drunk and slept in his vehicle with his car still running up against the wall in the garage with the a/c circulating his gas into his car from outside. He looked peaceful, but his eyes were rolled to the back of his head. Another time was during a severe thunderstorm warning, 2 females were swept into the garage and slammed into the wall by strong winds with the garage acting like a wind tunnel which accelerated the winds from outside. (Thats why you dont go under a bridge or underpass during strong winds or a tornado, wind will accelerate and suck you out from under it or roll your vehicle) 1 last time was a man tailgating another vehicle on his skateboard with his friends driving. He slipped off the skateboard and smashed his face into the concrete while an approaching BMW behind them ran him over. They were charged with vehicular man slaughter. I myself have been shot at and punched, or have had glass thrown at my face. Im alive, but im not pretty haha.
@@laurabu6459 your were shot?!
@Angelina Huang
Shot at, yes, not shot lol a bullet skimmed my right leg and I had to take cover. We were on patrol when a gun fight broke out between 3 officers and a guy on meth I believe. Either that or marijuana, I don't remember which one it was a while ago. But I did get hit by a vehicle while on patrol and it was due to 2 vehicles headed for a collission course unexpectedly. There was no sidewalk, so I had to walk in the street to patrol, or I would've had to dive into a concrete basin, not sure what its called, but its like a sewer system water collection ditch, but it was really deep. So, I only had 2 choices, either get hit by the vehicle and probably die horribly or get severely injured or jump into the ditch and probably die horribly or get severely injured. I got hit, but None of those things happened. I dislocated my hip and thigh, but they werent broken. The vehicles drove away pretty quick though, no one helped me. I remember having this kind of flashy blurry vision and I stood up, but I couldn't feel my leg. What I had to do was drag it back to the main office of the property I was patrolling that night to get the manager as was requested by my supervisor. He underestimated my condition over the phone I think, but I did as I was told. As I was walking there were people that would stop and stare or even laugh at me. But none would help. They all treated the situation like nothing was wrong. Sometimes the work of a security officer is brutal. We've been spit on, laughed at, some of us have been killed. Just like markiplier's nephew, who was also a security officer that was killed. We look like cops, so we get misinterpreted alot. Our jobs aren't the same, but we get disrespected more than them, even by cops themselves. But no matter what they say, I'll continue to walk, patrol and observe for the safety of my properties because in the end, the uniform is a target. And while the evil people are busy with me, my property can have time to get away. Im the hero no one cares about, and I guess that's fine.

The last game is a true reminder that people who are dispatches go through so much trauma
I had a buddy who worked dispatch for some time. One day I asked him how work was without even thinking about how heavy that question could be for someone who works in a profession like that. He said it wasnt great because a day or two prior to me asking someone called 911 to report they were gonna commit suicide and fatally shot themselves before he could even have the chance to negotiate or talk him down/out of it. Honestly its so rough im tearing up thinking about it. I cant imagine what other horrors he had to be apart of on a regular basis. Im sure that was just one of the countless things he endured.
@@MTFOphantom people within the police district really do a lot for us. Some cops don’t do anything and make our life hell, but others such as dispatchers or even regular cops help a lot. They don’t get enough recognition, they go through trauma daily. Over. And over again.
@@MTFOphantom honestly it seems like working dispatch you'd only really get 3 kinds of calls. Uncomfortable danger that could cause serious trauma, annoying people who don't understand that stubbing their toe is not an emergency, and then Karens. It must be fucking _rough_ to go back and forth between plain annoying, and downright traumatic, without really getting much slack between it all
@@whiteface513abandonedchann8 We get so many calls (im a volunteer firefighter) to people who have elevated heart rates, people who are simply nauseous, and even many calls for females typically around 11-16 years old who are, and I quote, "feeling a little depressed". I think the thing that makes the last game so terrifying is the fact that it didn't actually need the monster at the end. While it is meant to be an embodiment of the player's guilt, the fact the situation they're dealing with is actually possible is already uncomfortable enough. The fact players can only see a minimalistic map overview and limited audio from the phone leaves so much to the imagination, thus artificially inflating the terror. Not to mention the fact a lot of it is real-time based, adding to the feeling of dread, as well as the less important calls at the beginning to help players lower their guard.

@@mastertubbily1812 Cheap jumpscares aren't scary, they're startling, and there's a difference. If a game builds up an atmosphere and attacks you right when you're confused and right before you get your defenses up, then it can be really effective.
@@krystallinekris Would you say the second game did that?
@@luigicampo4008 I would say... in one way the game was unsettling, and in a way creepy, and it made that jumpscare to be more unexpected, like the feeling of "there has to be a jumpscare here" but even before you finish thinking that *boom*, the jumpscare hits you... better if it's a fast and cheap one
I wouldn't call jumpscares "terrifying." I understand what you meant, but I just don't think that's the proper term, and it's clear that others also took it the wrong way
I feel like 10:30pm at night is not the right time for me to watch this and yet here am I. 😬😅

Hey, I recognize that map on the last game "Dispatch"! That's downtown Houston! It's even got the same street names, too. Man, it would've been nice had they said it were Harris County Police Dispatch instead of Ashworth. That's one hell of a game

Oh, that last game was utterly brilliant. Loved it so much.
Apparently in that "Dispatch" game there's 2 endings. You got the good one, you saved the girl. The bad one you get if she dies. The only difference is that, in the good one you're tossed aside by that thing, whereas in the bad, you die.
Kubzscouts got the bad one Incase anyone wants to see that on!

I think Lixian (?) edited it more so we could get scared
@@siren7567 Oh yeah, you might be right.
Lix is so cool
@@siren7567 I believe so as well. He probably added the sound effect and possibly accelerated its appearance. Given marks reaction its likely that it was just an image and no sound, or even less spookily, was an image that came in with a short transition of a few tenths of a second or something similar.
I love how Mark told the officer the girl was “in her room” rather than “on the second floor” which would have helped, and told the girl to open a window, even though depending on multiple circumstances, can be VERY bad for a fire…and somehow he still won I think? Lol
While just saying 'in her room' was probably a bad choice, the fire was on the first floor, I believe, so would that be affected by a second story window opening? I can't say I have much experience in house fires.
They always teach us in school to open widndows when there's a fire
@@yati_xox It is both correct and incorrect to do that. While you will be allowing smoke to filter out, you are also giving the fire easy access to tons more oxygen, which it will use as fuel to burn harder, or to spread to surrounding buildings.
@@flooboo1502 That's why I question that
I guess it depends on the situation you're in, right?
Opening doors is bad in a fire. Opening windows lets smoke out and in the case of children it gives firefighters a way to quickly access bedrooms. I use to have a decal for firefighters on my window as a kid that said it was a child's room

wow, dispatch was incredible. the background ambience with the fire under the door and the banging added so much to the ambience. I almost would've preferred if there wasn't any supernatural horror going on at the end.
I was legitimately uncomfortable and upset the whole way through that call in Dispatch. All of that ambience building unfortunately went away with the spooky generic demon monster.
@@RoachDoggJR4200 - Same. It went from a really creative, engaging, unique, beautiful-looking and scary game with a tense atmosphere and potential to become an epic full game to ending like... a generic, low-quality indie game made up of stock assets. I get the symbolism of the monster, but that symbolism was very poorly executed, in my opinion :/ A game rarely captivates me, but I honestly hope they end up making a full game-version of that one (without the monster).
I think the opposite, the "supernatural" was part of the player's guilt in failing to have saved someone previously or the anxiety of thinking "Oh god, I killed them" by saying the wrong thing for the child to do. The monster could be also taken as a metaphor for him nearly killing himself over the guilt of thinking he indirectly killed the child but it stopped when hearing she was rescued and survived.
yeah I deadass couldn't watch the entire last game
