    I think this 2 part series is going to ABSOLUTELY blow up. This is the best video I’ve seen from these guys ( and I’ve seen most :) the story line, pacing everything is top tier, felt like I was watching a tv programme and haven’t been that annoyed a video ended in a while. @@BikesandBeards I don't know why they told you that you have to cover up or remove anything on the bike that says something about being Police because people have fully operational retired Police vehicles on the street everyday and as long as you aren't turning on the lights and sirens and pretending to be a Police officer and you aren't trying to pull anyone over or responding to any emergencies then you are fully in the clear and you can still have the operational lights and sirens on the vehicle for car shows and things like that

    From the clips around 10:30, you drove by my house. The 10:30 shot is going up the Alabama side of Sand Mountain. You then cut to comming down the Georgia side of Sand Mountain at 10:35. You are actually on the Trans-America-Trail at that point. It joins that road comming from the road on the right that just comes in to view as you cut to that random map. The next few shots are going up Lookout Mountain, about to pass Cloudland Cannion State Park. Just past that you would have met up with the Trans-America-Trail again for a few miles. Before you ended up in the city no one seems top know how to pronounce the name of. Some really good motorcycle ridings in this part of the country. You crossed two of the three mountains in the original 3 State 3 Mountain Challange bycycle race.
    For anyone wantings to know Jimmys Front Porch market is at 4320 Burning Bush Rd
    Ringgold, GA. Its actually just outside Chickamauga Ga and the Battelfield. Not really close to Ringgold, but anyway... They could have cut west at Jimmys then right on Lafayette road an went through the Battlefield. If you are just south of Chattanooga on I-75 type in his address an stop by. Its not to far off the inerstate an only 2 turns.

      Yep. I ride over to Mentone AL or Cloudland through Summerville, Trion, Lafayette, Rock Spring and Nickajack Gap (reverse order of course). Sometimes take a right at Rock Spring and go up to Chickamauga and Lookout....then back through Ringold and Fort Mountain. I don't ride much in Chattanooga...drivers too aggressive for fun.
      When I pass your house I'll honk.

      I live at the halfway point on I75 between Chattanooga (which I religiously hate) and Knoxville and have been wanted to spend a day or two riding down in Alabama. Y’all have any good places to recommend? Was kind of hoping to visit Barber in Birmingham and the US headquarters for Steyr in Bessemer and would like to have a cool ride on the way to and fro.

    • @STho205
      @STho205 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheAsheybabe89 I'm in Gilmer County GA on top of a mountain just below Blue Ridge and the Tenn/NC corners, but do go down to NE Bama.
      Mentone is a good ride, Fort Payne and the road into Gasden with the causeway through the lakes above Gasden is very attractive...and a good place to overnight.

    Those "tall" seats are actually for a purpose... Believe it or not, they make low-speed maneuverability much easier, because your center of gravity is higher and your butt is better centered between the wheels.
    An added plus about those old fashioned solo seats (and I suppose the old Buddy Seats) is that for us old guys with arthritis, sitting up that high keeps our knees below the level of our hips... And that keeps the pain at bay for at least 100 or so extra miles.
    Yeah... They ain't for everyone. But I for one LOVE those things.
    Especially if they're the "air suspension" style... Makes it like a two wheeled Cadillac!

    I'm a motorcycle mechanic, responsible for the local Police motorcycles, it is indeed a strange feeling when you ride a police bike in public, everybody drives just under the speed limit when you are behind them, and you find yourself scanning the cars around you. The power buzz is a bit worrying because it makes you realise how easily power corrupts. It takes a very strong man to have power and not abuse it. But, have to admit, enjoy every test ride because it's a test of me, as well as the bike.. ;)

    You are either crazy or brave. I'm a police officer who is motor trained and have been riding police bikes for 26 years now. I wouldn't touch a police Harley with a 100 foot pole for my personal bike. I know what they go thru. I certainly wouldn't trust one to get me from the Gulf Coat back to PA. Especially if the bike came from a city dept. An aquiantance of mine bought one recently and had to dump 10k into it to keep it running over the past 2 1/2 years. Craig's front end vibration issues could be a recipe for a "death wobble" pretty scary stuff.

      The one I bought I ended up having a new clutch basket put in and having the bottom end rebuilt from where the oil pump exploded from the pinion shaft being out of balance. Something that is an issue in the 88 motors. Very common.

    Be glad the PD used only tape to cover up. I worked at a H-D shop in the 1970's. We attended Los Angeles PD bike auctions. The Harleys had done only around 40,000 miles. They scraped off the police symbols and lettering wiith a putty knife leaving horrible scars in the paint. Ironically every one of those ex-PD bikes became a 'chopper'.

    I know what you mean by wanting to pull over stupid drivers while riding these ex police bikes. I bought a police Norton commando Interpol back on the 70s.( I live in England.) It was great fun but also a pain in the arse as when you wanted to go for a good blast, the bloody car drivers would all slow down thinking it was the police behind them. The roads in England are very narrow compared to the roads there in the States. Love the video can't wait for part 2
