The grenade body is a cheap cast Chinese manufactured copy of an RFX mk2 .the way to tell its a fake straight away is that the m228 practice fuze assembly fits it .different size thread to original.
This is not something made as a souvenir or paperweight. It is a practice grenade. On many training grenades there are threads at the top so a training fuze can be screwed in to give a small bang to indicate an explosion. But there are also others that have no threads in the top section and just a fuse shaped top of cast iron. These are made for training to throw hand grenades.
Don't let your kids play with these unless you know what you are doing and have looked them over yourself. Just last year a kid died because the "dummy" grenade they bought at a thrift store was actually a live grenade.
Mine is painted and looks real but there's a chunk of silver metal over which looks to be a hole. Does that mean it's fake? I hope so because Im scared incase thats an actual real one lol

I go through estates, and have found some live shit. This tells me nothing..
They make fantastic gear shifter knobs. You have to thread out one side with a knurled nut to instal on shifter. Had one on my keep.

They are just paper weights. A real m69 training grenade is two pressed sheet metal hemispheres that have been welded together.
