Those intake valves have a tendency to start cupping after so much use with no adjustments. There's an easy way to check the timing chains on those to make sure that the timing hasn't slipped. You set the side you want to check at tdc and then take the tensioner out and then try to put it back on without resetting the tensioner. The amount that the tensioner sticks out is a good indicator of how much life the timing chain has. If it goes all the way in while fully extended then that's a for sure sign that the chain is stretched, if it's stretched most likely the timing could have slipped.
Thank you for sharing Sorry that happened to you. People who live that way never really seem to get away with it, in the end. Something bad seems to always be around the corner and, when it happens, they hark back, instantly, to the moment that brought them to where they are. Hopefully, you might find someone who needs one for parts and both you and the buyer will prosper 🤗🛐 🤗😎🇺🇲🙏
Too much fun. One of my pickups is running with a cracked head, five years so far with stop leak in it. Runs like hell and misses a bunch, but I can still get hay in, or haul a boat in out of the lake. Maybe you could get by with larger piston rings, new bearings and still have a toy.
It's been running good enough for a yard machine. I think the fix it all will be a new harness but I'm not in the mood to change it out yet. Thanks James!
Rob, I just remembered that there’s a guy down here in Louisiana that had to redo a Brute Force and he redid the carbs His channel is Alpha Pack Offroad
HI. first of all congratulations for your videos, they are really interesting. I am writing to you from Italy, I have a 2009 KVF 750. Stunning car! but lately I replaced the petrol pump, and as soon as I reassembled everything, the FI light is flashing on the instrument panel..I can't solve the problem! would you have any advice for me? thank you and congratulations again.
Thanks Man! I'm not familiar with fuel injected machine. Maybe check the wire plugs to the injectors, could be loose or corroded. Same with the fuel pump wires and fuses. Try some dielectric grease on them. Good luck!
Excuse me, I have a question. My ATV BRUTE FORCE 750 has fuel leaking out of the exhaust and apparently it is leaking into the oil. What could be the problem???
Unburnt fuel coming out of the exhaust would be a cylinder that's not firing or firing intermittently. Fuel in the oil might mean crank seals are bad. Good luck!
Just throwing this out there.. I believe some of the Brute Force engines had issues with extreme camshaft wear. I personally saw a cam that was missing almost 1/4 inch of the lobes.
It’s easily fixed!!!! It’s the carb. Choke plungers aren’t opening . 99.99% of your issues will root from this. Your also adjusting the valves wrong. Always start on rear and move 270° to the front. .006-.007 Intake. .008 exhaust. Always use 2 feeler gauges when setting valves. Your simply cocking the valve rockers when setting the second valve. Next. Search “ Vforcejohn kawasaki spark plug boot mod” Cr7e Plug only. Cut back the Oem solid core wires. To fix this would take 2-3 hours of labor and about 10.00 in parts.
Great videos. 💯 (DON'T GIVE UP) That said, How much would a new Machine cost ya, especially up there in Canada?? At this point, if it was me. I'd just buy a brand new engine, and swap the two out. And after that it seems like you'd have awesome ATV, That you paid not nearly as much as to what a new 1 would run ya. And if you end up going that route, just make sure you video it, and that way you can recoup some of your losses 📉 I'm a Gigantic fan of the Bruteforce as I own a 2018 also. So again I say, DONT GIVE UP. WINNERS NEVER QUIT, AND QUITTERS NEVER WIN. 💯 ID love to see this Machine in future rides and video contents.
Another way would be to Find/Pick up another Full parts 750. That way you'd ready have on hand any additional parts that you may need now, plus more for future references. Maybe find 1 that was crashed, But still runs, Ect. ✅️
When it's finally finished, every single thing will have been changed or fixed. This was a really bad machine that slipped by my experience. Brutes are usually known for their good reliability but this one is just a POS all the way around. Hopefully when we finish, it will be a much better machine. Thanks!
@@RobFarrowATV Rob as much as you have changed on it it’ll be a new one. Lol. If you’d asked me before you bought it and told me that it had carburetors I’d told you to leave it be. All I’ve ever heard about them was stay away from them. Back in 2006 I was looking for a SXS and was wanting one that was sorta sporty but also had a bed for doing work around my ranch and there was only 2 choices back then the Rhino and the T-Rex and I talked to what was a very honest salesman and he told me about the carb problem they had so I went with a Rhino which worked out great because we got a lot of laughs at my aunts expense because my told her I bought a Rhino and she wanted to know why I wanted such an big animal and what I was gonna do with it. Lol
Cannot be to upset about tires. Get some cheap ones but the engine is a pain. You went this far, might as well break her down and see what she needs. Good luck!
Thanks! Ya, gone too far to quit, just gotta suck it up I guess. The tires can wait until next year...takes a little while for the air to leak out. LOL!
Never seen you give up, you will call a friend and both of you will figure it out and she will live again. Cheers
Thanks Man! Haven't given up yet, just trying to figure out which bank to rob...
I felt your pain when you rapped your hand and when you found out it was a lump of XXXX !!
Thanks Man! LOL! Ya, think we've all done that working on these things.
Had a brute Force it was a lot of trouble every time something broke went back to Honda have never had a real problem
Nice! Thanks Chris!

Thanks Mark! Gonna have to fix it, come too far to sell it for parts.
I just got a brute and it was running rough. Did a lot and found it to be the rear resistor cap for the plug
Good to know, thanks!
Ah man , that sucks.
After you rebuild all will be good , hope you getter done before the snow
Hopefully she'll be a good machine after the rebuild but we already have snow here, so hopefully it doesn't snow too much before I'm done. Thanks Man!

Oh boy. I know how ya feel. I've thrown money at projects with same results.
Thanks Rob! Ya, these "Projects" always seem to take a wrong turn.
I had one with low voltage from stator made it run bad. And one carbs needed rebuild/cleaning from sitting so long!!!!
Thanks Man! Ya, all kinds of issues with this one...we'll get it sorted out eventually!
I’m about to go buy an 06 brute from an old lady, I’m scared now lol
LOL! And right you should be...
Sorry for the end result after all your efforts! Hopefully your time and effort doesn’t exceed its resale value in the end.

07 brute force 650 , piece of junk, never ran good , now just sitting and rotting , after $3000 into it I’m done
