To add to it, Skinny/Wrath/Evil Buu still has some of the limitations of Dai Kaioshin if you look _closely._ Both Buus had the vest of the Dai Kaioshin. When that vest disappears, it's like a power dampener is removed.
Always loved how the Daikaoshin managed to balance out the evil in Buu, his appetite for destruction had completely been altered and i can understand how surprised Bibidi must have been to see his creation turn into this mellow form. The evil Buu represented the hatered of the original Buu and he was far more serious and foccused than the fat Buu.
Which was released when he absorbed Fat Buu lol Super Buu is literally that potential. Nothing is holding him back now, no drawbacks. To me, Kid Buu is reclaiming the mind of Fat buu through his evil incarnation (Evil Buu) because he somehow broke free of the influence that the grand surpreme kai seemingly had on him after he was absorbed

Because Namekian are good side-pure heart characters, the evil one are really really few (King Piccolo and non canon Lord Slug) while Buu was born originally as an evil demon so the predominant side is the evil one. We should also remember that Kami and King Piccolo came out the same person.

I think two interesting scenarios I’d like to see you analyze us who would win between Goku (Cell Games) vs. Vegeta (Rage Boost after Trunks Death) and What if Android 16 self-destructed? Given that he saw Vegeta’s Final Flash and Goku’s warp kamehameha yet still seemed confident he could kill cell I think it’s not as obvious at first glance
Just as a viewer, I'll comment... Vegeta wouldn't have been able to sustain his power surge with the rage boost. See how easily he got knocked out by Cell - who'd absorbed those shots. Also, Goku must've been much stronger for Vegeta to believe that Goku was the only one strong enough to beat Cell. Also, 16 was able to know everyone's power. He knew Gohan had the power to defeat Cell before he'd gone SS2 - which seems to suggest he knew of his power reserves. But even if he didn't know about SS2 - he knew of Cell's power. I think it's likely he would've been right about destroying Cell - unless he wasn't aware of Cell being able to regenerate from one cell (which maybe even Cell didn't realize). 16 was pretty smart, though. Only Cell was as smart or smarter in the saga, in my opinion. Also, 16 was right on him, so may have incenerated him fully.
Tbh idk how you can even scale Rage Boost Vegeta because he doesn’t do anything lol. He doesn’t damage Cell at all. He probably did get stronger but all he does is make Cell brace himself before he attacks him.
To be honest, Evil Buu exists because his subconscious that had been evil the whole time is calling out the Fat (Good) Buu for wasting time and for questioning their purpose. Thus, taking over and getting back on track- even if Fat Buu’s influence initially has him goofing a bit off at first.
It’s videos like these that remind me how much I love your power scaling polls comparing characters that never fought. I never even considered how Evil Buu compares to Majin Vegeta but with his confidence / reveal later on , you almost just assume Evil Buu is a bigger threat than the initial fat Buu. Tangentially , I love thinking about how even Tien would be able to hold off / compare to both split buus given how he did against super buu
Hi Mike. I just saw one of your older videos "What if Either King Cold or Cooler had gone to Namek Instead of Frieza," and that gave me a very interesting idea for a what if. If you're interested, I'd like to see a what if about what if either Nappa or Raditz survived the Saiyan Saga instead of Vegeta. And you'll probably have a lot of fun with this. For example, can you imagine what Trunks would've been like had Nappa been his father instead of Vegeta?
your analysis of dragon ball continues to prove reliable. nice points. the insightful comparison between Innocent Buu vs Evil Buu and Innocent Buu vs Kid Buu maps out the power scale pretty clearly i think. Innocent Buu is more afraid of, and loses more decisively to Evil Buu. As you mentioned, it could've been more of psychological disadvantage than a raw ki one (though Toriyama has stated that mental state does play a role in ki output). But Toriyama is usually more straightforward about power scaling in terms of character reactions, so if he didn't forget what he drew of Innocent vs Evil (he probably did 😅) i think he wanted us to believe Evil > Kid. As you've also shown from the manga, Evil and Innocent are stated to have gotten dividends of OG Fat Buu's ki. So Evil Buu must have less ki than OG Fat Buu, yeah? (despite Evil Buu being more combat reliable without the personality quirks of OG Fat Buu). Therefore, OG Fat Buu > Evil Buu. Further, it's heavily implied from Goku and Piccolo's comments in the manga that Super Buu's ki is higher than OG Fat Buu (or at least consistently higher). so Super Buu > OG Fat Buu. so that'd make the full chain Super Buu > OG Fat Buu (inconsistently) > Evil Buu > Kid Buu, Innocent Buu, yeah? i think the bit of ambiguity shows that Toriyama may have appreciated discussion as much as we do. thanks again for the discussion!

Isn't there a 1 year limit on wishing back dead people? So if someone died over a year prior, they cannot be revived. They must be revived within a year.
I like to view Vegeta's Oozaru Form as being equivalent to Kaioken x20. I always assumed that because the Saiyans could no longer go Oozaru Form, the Zenkai Boosts they received were more massive, as energy was no longer needed to fuel that Larger Form. Evidence: Dragon Ball GT and Dragon Ball Super GT- SSJ4 was achieved by harnessing the Oozaru Form's power, condensing it down to Fighter Size. Super- The Saiyans from a different Universe didn't have Tails but were abnormally strong, without first achieving Super Saiyan and without Training in 400x Gravity.
Oozaru Vegeta would've had a power level of 25 million which still wouldn't have been enough to defeat a 50% Frieza who was 60 million let alone his full power at 120 million
I totally agree with you that after separation both become weaker, Evil Buu stronger because the evil side is the predominant but i have a question: How strong was the first Fat Buu (before separation) compared to Kid Buu? I think Kid Buu is stronger than Fat Buu before separation because the absorption of grand supreme Kai made him weaker because he was too good and pure heart. Another interesting question: Do all Buu's forms know the "turning you in chocolate" technique?. If yes, why Kid Buu never use it?.
I usually give Skinny and Good Buu about a 60/40 split. I honestly think Good Buu that fought Kid Buu was actually stronger than when he was absorbed. My theory, Mr Buu had aspects of both Daikaioh and South Kaioshin. When Mr Buu got absorbed Evil Buu took whatever remnants of the Kais that was left in himself and transferred it all to Mr Buu thus almost fully negating any influence they still had over him. It helped him power himself up into Super Buu but inadvertently made MrBuu stronger as well.
Wait, so Buu splits into 2. Evil Buu gets the bigger share of power. Then he eats himself, and becomes stronger? Then, he loses all the people he absorbed and becomes even stronger, than he was originally? Yeah, math checks out. Toriyama, the mathematician.
I’d say after the split, Evil probably got about 55% of the power and Fat got about 45%. Now remember, they still have South Kai and Dai Kaio’s POWER in them but the goodness of Dai Kaio limited him. So when Evil eats Good, he is still essentially Majin(Fat) Buu but the evil side is dominant. Majin Buu = good side is dominant, limited Super Buu = evil side is dominant, not limited Hope this helps.
Stronger than the Fat Buu that he fights, but probably not the one before the split. Though we never see Fat Buu go all out before he splits, because he's such a goofball. Not that he has much of a reason to fight too seriously when he's as invincible as he is.
The picture of evil buu looking down on good buu reminds me of that thing toriyama likes to do where he pairs a big guy and a little guy (nappa and vegeta etc.) but they're opposed instead of working together
If I remember correctly, Buu takes in the traits of the strongest fighter he absorbed. That's why he became Buucolo when Gotenks Defused. Piccolo was stronger then base Goten and Trunks, but Good Buu was absorbed as well. Does that mean that after the split, Good Buu became so weak that Piccolo could have defeated him?
I think that Kid Buu is a lot stronger than Evil Buu because while it is true that Good Buu landed shots, Kid Buu's fighting style isn't the same as Evil Buus. Kid Buu tends to take attacks a lot more even though he can dodge them. He tanked Mr. Satan's hits he tanked Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta's Blasts and a lot more. That being said I agree Evil Buu isn't as good as Fat Buu (The whole) BUT I think he could still beat the SSJ2s with a decent amount of ease. SSJ3 Goku would be enough if he took it seriously from the get go.
Theory: Fat Buu was the Grand Supreme Kai, reincarnated through Majin Buu. Evidence: The Kais are Divine Beings and live on a higher plane, allowing a full fusion between two divine beings. It is implied that Majin Buu is also a Divine Being, having been around longer than Beerus. It is reasonable to assume that, because it was not a full fusion, with the absence of a second ear ring, or with Buu absorbing a higher being, that he effectively birthed a second being inside of him.
If we go by the theory that Evil Buu is a split of power from the first-appearance Fat Majin Buu, then I would say he's as powerful as a hypothetical SS2 Majin Goku. Still clearly more powerful than SS2, but still below SS3. As for the weakest Buu, Fat Buu after the split - I would put him at SS2 Majin Vegeta level at best. At worst - SS2 Cell Games Gohan. OR... to put it simply - the difference between a Majin variant of someone (Evil Buu) and a non-Majin variant of that same person (Fat Buu). Clearly the Majin-boosted version would be superior.
I have to kinda disagree here, I don't think Evil Buu was actually that much stronger than Good Buu, but that he took the lion's share of his combat capabilities into himself when they split case and point the Candy/Cookie beam, there's no real practical way to use this attack in a combat situation aside from a desperation or finishing move, and as seen with Buuhan if you're strong enough it doesn't make a difference, so Evil Buu didn't really need to use that as he was already smart enough to know what Good Buu would do if backed into a corner.
i always say that Fat Buu had more power hiding in, that Buu never used which is the reason why Buu after being split, barely lost any power compared to when Buu fought SSJ3 Goku, while Evil Buu got most of Buu's hidden power

Its very simple Majin buu is a genie So basically the body the genie in is alot of particles that collected in space and bibbidi mutations The pure evil of the universe is what fed the genie his powers If you watch you can see that majin buu posses majic unlike anyone else without techniques or spells He goes into long slumbers until summoned He’s indifferent to things around him Due to him absorbing so many people his conscious changed Buu pretty much magically released all the evil and released it Buus body still possessed the other absorbed power throughout the years So when the evil ate buu again he regained the other power but gave the pure evil the consciousness When he gets beat up as superbuu he returned to his original physical form and fought using what he knew best releasing the other consciousness absorbed back into fatbuu So pretty much fatbuu was making him weak but i guess the absorbed people from so long ago are stuck in the body so the only way to release them is to rid a piece of himself
Super Buu is Majin (Fat) Buu without Dai Kaioshins power restraint. Skinny Buu has to be roughly as strong as Kid Buu because even though his power was split (I’d say 55% to Skinny and 45% to Fat), he still has to have the power of South Kai + Dai Kaioshin in there.
We also have to consider that Majin Buu knowledge of Good and Evil Played a Factor In Him Beimg Spilt in Two as Well. THANKS to Hercule/Mark Buu Became Had Is better understanding of morality.
the way I see it evil buu=south supreme kai+kid buu(evil). fat buu=grand supreme kai+kid buu(good). after re-absorbing fat buu he merged south supreme kai back to fat buu to reduce his influence.
Even tho Buu split... I think "Majin Buu 1st Buu" actually multiplied given dat Super Buu is so much stronger den Kid Buu. Only thing is dey took different personalities or Evil Buu is Kid Buu forcing himself out. Just my weird calculations: 100(majin buu)-60(Evil Buu)=40(Good Buu) 60×40=2400(Super Buu) 2400÷5=480(Kid Buu) lol.
I never read the manga, but based off the anime I was under the impression that Fat Buu and Evil Buu were equal power. But Evil Buu was evil so he was more ruthless and willing to just straight kill/absorb people instead of playing games and having fun first. So he didn't really hold back or pull any punches, both figurative and literal punches. Kinda the same reason why Kid Buu was the most dangerous Buu. That all being said, I haven't re-watched the Buu Saga in quite a while and definitely could be incorrectly remembering things.

Boo split himself similar to how the Namekian split into Kami and Piccolo Daimao , with most of the power going into Kami but original Nameless Namekian being greater then the sum on his parts(kami and daimao). In other words the fat boo we were introduced "was" as strong as "superboo" in theory but couldnt access his latent power because of how his personality was , Majin boo is mostly magic not just ki. The evil boo gaining most of the power or the original fat boo but then re absorbing the "good" one can now access the first fat boo's laten power thus Superboo being stronger because its fat boo's latent power with any absorbtion just being a surplus of power not a personality that takes some power inside of him.
to me it was about 70% but I also believe Buu gets his power from his emotions since all his best feats are he's angry or sad since good Buu healed Hercule and expelled his evil parts then super Buu was able to rip a hole in space and time after getting trapped then expelling good Buu.
Here's what I would like to know: kid Buu became weaker after he absorbed the kais because of their goodness. Okay fine. But if that's how buu's body works, then shouldn't super Buu have become weaker when he absorbed the z fighters? The z fighters were just as good as the Kais. Even piccolo was a good person at that point. So if Majin Buu absorbing a good person makes him weaker, then he should have been incredibly weak after absorbing Goten, trunks, and Gohan. So why did he get stronger when absorbing the z fighters if absorbing good people makes him weaker?
He got stronger by absorbing the South Supreme Kai (Buff Buu). He then went on to absorb Grand Supreme Kai, it was his gentle nature that weakened and subdued Buu (Fat Buu). It's not just about being a good person. Also, when Ultimate Gohan arrives to help Piccolo and the others, Piccolo states Gohan has lost his gentle nature. He was still a good person, but his aura had still changed. And I don't think "Piccolo" and "gentle" are two words that go together.
Super Buu w/ gohan absorbed > super buu w/ gotenks absorbed > buff buu >/ Kid buu > super buu > fat buu > evil buu > Good Buu. Evil buu is 60% of fat Buu’s power, more or less. Good buu is 40% of fat Buu’s power, more or less. Fat buu and Super Buu Are the sum of the same parts with the good and evil sides on control, respectively. Fat buu and Super Buu Are both still under the Dai kaio influence, heavily weakening both, with fat buu being much more under the influence, making super buu definitively stronger than fat buu. Kid buu is pure buu with no influence whatsoever, making him the most powerful base form of buu.

Kid and Fat are comparable based on Goku's statements, while Fat Buu's body is not suited for fighting. Edit: Though your argument about the influence if the Kaioshin might change this up slightly.
Honestly, I think Evil Buu is slightly stronger than Kid Buu. Evil Buu completely dogwalked Good Buu while Kid Buu somewhat struggled with Good Buu and wasn't as big of a wipeout.
Exactly, Evil Buu quickly beat the same buu that was able to put up a good fight against kid buu, even blew him to bits multiple times, he didnt even directly hit him with any energy blasts like Kid Buu did.

To be honest, Evil Buu exists because his subconscious that had been evil the whole time is calling out the Fat (Good) Buu for wasting time and for questioning their purpose.

If you're interested, I'd like to see a what if about what if either Nappa or Raditz survived the Saiyan Saga instead of Vegeta. And you'll probably have a lot of fun with this. For example, can you imagine what Trunks would've been like had Nappa been his father instead of Vegeta?

Innocent Buu is more afraid of, and loses more decisively to Evil Buu. As you mentioned, it could've been more of psychological disadvantage than a raw ki one (though Toriyama has stated that mental state does play a role in ki output). But Toriyama is usually more straightforward about power scaling in terms of character reactions, so if he didn't forget what he drew of Innocent vs Evil (he probably did 😅) i think he wanted us to believe Evil > Kid.
As you've also shown from the manga, Evil and Innocent are stated to have gotten dividends of OG Fat Buu's ki. So Evil Buu must have less ki than OG Fat Buu, yeah? (despite Evil Buu being more combat reliable without the personality quirks of OG Fat Buu). Therefore, OG Fat Buu > Evil Buu.
Further, it's heavily implied from Goku and Piccolo's comments in the manga that Super Buu's ki is higher than OG Fat Buu (or at least consistently higher). so Super Buu > OG Fat Buu.

I like to view Vegeta's Oozaru Form as being equivalent to Kaioken x20.
I always assumed that because the Saiyans could no longer go Oozaru Form, the Zenkai Boosts they received were more massive, as energy was no longer needed to fuel that Larger Form.

GT- SSJ4 was achieved by harnessing the Oozaru Form's power, condensing it down to Fighter Size.
Super- The Saiyans from a different Universe didn't have Tails but were abnormally strong, without first achieving Super Saiyan and without Training in 400x Gravity.
Oozaru Vegeta would've had a power level of 25 million which still wouldn't have been enough to defeat a 50% Frieza who was 60 million let alone his full power at 120 million

I totally agree with you that after separation both become weaker, Evil Buu stronger because the evil side is the predominant but i have a question: How strong was the first Fat Buu (before separation) compared to Kid Buu? I think Kid Buu is stronger than Fat Buu before separation because the absorption of grand supreme Kai made him weaker because he was too good and pure heart. Another interesting question: Do all Buu's forms know the "turning you in chocolate" technique?. If yes, why Kid Buu never use it?.

IMO Evil Buu and kid have the same power level but Evil buu is smarter so he beats Good Buu easier.
I usually give Skinny and Good Buu about a 60/40 split. I honestly think Good Buu that fought Kid Buu was actually stronger than when he was absorbed. My theory, Mr Buu had aspects of both Daikaioh and South Kaioshin. When Mr Buu got absorbed Evil Buu took whatever remnants of the Kais that was left in himself and transferred it all to Mr Buu thus almost fully negating any influence they still had over him. It helped him power himself up into Super Buu but inadvertently made MrBuu stronger as well.

I’d say after the split, Evil probably got about 55% of the power and Fat got about 45%. Now remember, they still have South Kai and Dai Kaio’s POWER in them but the goodness of Dai Kaio limited him. So when Evil eats Good, he is still essentially Majin(Fat) Buu but the evil side is dominant.
Majin Buu = good side is dominant, limited
Super Buu = evil side is dominant, not limited

Toriyamam liked to show parrallels or complimentary things, so I'd be more inclined to believe it was intentional.

If I remember correctly, Buu takes in the traits of the strongest fighter he absorbed. That's why he became Buucolo when Gotenks Defused. Piccolo was stronger then base Goten and Trunks, but Good Buu was absorbed as well. Does that mean that after the split, Good Buu became so weak that Piccolo could have defeated him?

I think that Kid Buu is a lot stronger than Evil Buu because while it is true that Good Buu landed shots, Kid Buu's fighting style isn't the same as Evil Buus. Kid Buu tends to take attacks a lot more even though he can dodge them. He tanked Mr. Satan's hits he tanked Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta's Blasts and a lot more. That being said I agree Evil Buu isn't as good as Fat Buu (The whole) BUT I think he could still beat the SSJ2s with a decent amount of ease.
SSJ3 Goku would be enough if he took it seriously from the get go.

Theory: Fat Buu was the Grand Supreme Kai, reincarnated through Majin Buu.
Evidence: The Kais are Divine Beings and live on a higher plane, allowing a full fusion between two divine beings.
It is implied that Majin Buu is also a Divine Being, having been around longer than Beerus.
It is reasonable to assume that, because it was not a full fusion, with the absence of a second ear ring, or with Buu absorbing a higher being, that he effectively birthed a second being inside of him.
I noticed that the English dub of Kai fixes that translation and Goku suggests that Kid Buu is merely the most (dangerous/unpredictable/unlimited).

If we go by the theory that Evil Buu is a split of power from the first-appearance Fat Majin Buu, then I would say he's as powerful as a hypothetical SS2 Majin Goku.
Still clearly more powerful than SS2, but still below SS3.
As for the weakest Buu, Fat Buu after the split - I would put him at SS2 Majin Vegeta level at best. At worst - SS2 Cell Games Gohan.
OR... to put it simply - the difference between a Majin variant of someone (Evil Buu) and a non-Majin variant of that same person (Fat Buu).
Clearly the Majin-boosted version would be superior.
back in the day the toys spoiled everything, we knew there were good and evil buus during the freiza saga.
I have to kinda disagree here, I don't think Evil Buu was actually that much stronger than Good Buu, but that he took the lion's share of his combat capabilities into himself when they split case and point the Candy/Cookie beam, there's no real practical way to use this attack in a combat situation aside from a desperation or finishing move, and as seen with Buuhan if you're strong enough it doesn't make a difference, so Evil Buu didn't really need to use that as he was already smart enough to know what Good Buu would do if backed into a corner.

the way I see it evil buu=south supreme kai+kid buu(evil). fat buu=grand supreme kai+kid buu(good). after re-absorbing fat buu he merged south supreme kai back to fat buu to reduce his influence.

I never read the manga, but based off the anime I was under the impression that Fat Buu and Evil Buu were equal power. But Evil Buu was evil so he was more ruthless and willing to just straight kill/absorb people instead of playing games and having fun first. So he didn't really hold back or pull any punches, both figurative and literal punches. Kinda the same reason why Kid Buu was the most dangerous Buu.
That all being said, I haven't re-watched the Buu Saga in quite a while and definitely could be incorrectly remembering things.

Boo split himself similar to how the Namekian split into Kami and Piccolo Daimao , with most of the power going into Kami but original Nameless Namekian being greater then the sum on his parts(kami and daimao).
In other words the fat boo we were introduced "was" as strong as "superboo" in theory but couldnt access his latent power because of how his personality was , Majin boo is mostly magic not just ki.
The evil boo gaining most of the power or the original fat boo but then re absorbing the "good" one can now access the first fat boo's laten power thus Superboo being stronger because its fat boo's latent power with any absorbtion just being a surplus of power not a personality that takes some power inside of him.

Here's what I would like to know: kid Buu became weaker after he absorbed the kais because of their goodness. Okay fine. But if that's how buu's body works, then shouldn't super Buu have become weaker when he absorbed the z fighters? The z fighters were just as good as the Kais. Even piccolo was a good person at that point. So if Majin Buu absorbing a good person makes him weaker, then he should have been incredibly weak after absorbing Goten, trunks, and Gohan. So why did he get stronger when absorbing the z fighters if absorbing good people makes him weaker?
He got stronger by absorbing the South Supreme Kai (Buff Buu). He then went on to absorb Grand Supreme Kai, it was his gentle nature that weakened and subdued Buu (Fat Buu). It's not just about being a good person. Also, when Ultimate Gohan arrives to help Piccolo and the others, Piccolo states Gohan has lost his gentle nature. He was still a good person, but his aura had still changed. And I don't think "Piccolo" and "gentle" are two words that go together.
