Sorry about the book below. But, in short: Yes, it really does... Bloodborne/GTA gameplay, completely void of any comedy, set on Earth and in Hell. In Hell, there's an area reminiscent of Classical Victorian Paris. Gangsters run the city and one of Satan's best men is in this area. His lips are sewn shut. Throughout progressing, the area becomes increasingly easier, albeit with difficulty spikes. Around 90% of the game is finished and you realize half of the horrible shit you did was all because of this 1 NPC. At this, the area is completely passive. NPCs who hate you are happy and give you stuff you don't need. NPCs who like you are sad and give you items that play to your strengths. Upon entering his building, you are pleasantly greeted solely by NPCs who dislike you and happily guide you to a door... Cut scene: Player: *Laughs in frustration/anger* "Why is it so easy to forget that the Devil makes us do his own deeds? Why!?" Speechless NPC: Apathetic to your entrance, continues motion of sharpening a sword. Player: "Of all of the atrocities you-" *Seething* " *WE'VE* committed, do you feel no shame!? Regret!? ...Horror!?" Speechless NPC: Continues ignoring you with motion of pouring and rubbing substance on sword. Player: "You don't care..." Unsheathes weapon "I've counted EVERY terrible deed I've done in your name, but y-" Speechless NPC: Body jolts as if he tried to giggle. His hands motion slowly, pushing down. I think it was their goth personas, not “characters” they created. It’s common for goth kids to adopt a shiny new goth name. Raven and Tara have always been popular choices, followed by names like October, Raine, or Tabitha. Finding a fanfic with the names Raven & Tara is not a challenge. These kids seem more like they were experimenting with how they expressed themselves rather than planning a troll.
I agree with you. I'm really struggling to see the clever angle here. Maybe if they had in fact been completely opposite to goths/emos then it would have been a well-crafted deception but it looks more like trying something more exaggerated on for fun to create personas that were not a massive departure from who they actually are/were, to see if it would catch some attention. Anyway, it worked, even if luck had a part to play.
They were goth when they were younger but made the videos when they were adults so they knew the culture perfectly to satire it. They were characters, they planned out their personalities to be as funny as possible and decided to not upload a lot of them because they were too 'obvious' and bursted out laughing in the middle of them. There is proof they are fake you just have to watch the video she made.

I LOVED raven and Tara. I just loved them they were so edgy and fueled my early emo phase. Nobody talks about them and I miss them so much. Me and my best friend loved watching them and we wanted to make a channel like them and be like them. They were not good influences but idc I still love them

now, i'd agree, very rarely do i see one of my niece's teen friends who don't already look to be in their 30s...but back then @_@ most of my friends that age and older looked like little kids, barely passing for teenagers, let alone high school juniors or college freshmen... :/ worse when some had puberty give them bodies of adults and still those very, very baby faces - but hey, turned out to be a blessing. everyone's different, some people look older as young teens and stay that way (or just keep ageing early) and some look unbelievably young well into being middle aged before really looking older, past perhaps crows feet and other wrinkles/sun spots. we saw this with actors/actresses, some who looked more like kids than the actual child stars, despite being adults. just part of the genetic dice roll
I remember loving these videos. I never thought they were serious tho. I always felt they were playing characters and having fun. I also remember this being one of the first channels where I would read the comments and be totally shocked and disgusted at some of the things people would post. It was one of the first times i realized that there are many, MANY people out there who will say things anonymously online that they would never say to someone's face. Not just that, they would leave comments that would never be considered OK to say to another person at any time, for any reason. This is something that has gotten really out of hand in my opinion and even now I cannot come up with a reason that so many people want to leave comments of that nature I mean you see horrible horrible comments on TH-cam where people post about depression or that they are feeling suicidal and even though there will be dozens of comments where people are telling them things will get better and trying to help them there are always a handful of comments where some Anonymous scumbag tell them that they are worthless or they are seeking attention and they should just go ahead and do it. what is it that makes a person feel good when they leave a comment that they know will hurt someone.

I was (still am to an extent) a goth kid in the mid 90's and remember when AOL instant messaging and chat rooms were popular in high school and myself and all my goth friends all had stereotypical "edgy" goth usernames that contained words like Raven, Blood, tears, Satan, roses, darkness etc etc. Oh, can't forget squeezing as many X's and 666's into the usernames so it'd look something like this "XXXBL00DYXTEARZ666XX "lol, so not so much a modern thing as it was just online. I remember sitting around for hours trying to come up with the coolest, darkest sounding usernames, lol.
I had never heard of these 3, even though that time I was only a couple of years older than them. They were adorable and the skits were definitely well done. I’m glad all 3 of them are doing well now.

Lol it’s funny to me how in my immortal the authors changed the lightning bolt to a pentagram considering in the Bible it says “I saw Satan like lightning, falling from heaven.” Honestly they could’ve just left the lightning bolt if they wanted to portray that. The symbol of lightning being associated with Satan is a lesser known symbol of such as shown in the Bible. Light and Satan go hand and hand considering the translation of serpent from its original Hebrew translates as “the shinning one.” So clearly “light” or a false light is shown to be a symbol of Satan himself as shown by God in the old and new testaments

As someone who has been in the goth scene since the 80s, that most certainly wasn't a goth parody. Emo at best. Never heard of these two, and not sure how this came to be in my recommendation. So glad I saw this so I know they're trolls. Cookie cutter "goths" who feel like they always have to be depressed and stay in character drive me batty (pun intended).
I've never heard of nor seen their videos before (though I was certainly gothy/emo kid myself). Wow I actually went to high school with this girl. She was one year ahead of me, and she definitely fit the goth girl "I don't talk to anybody" vibe. It's crazy to see that I stumbled upon her on the internet, especially since we aren't from a big city.

My worlds kinda crumbled a bit. I’m one of the few that actually read the entirety of ‘My Immortal’ and believed that these two wrote it. It was sort of unbelievable to me, but I accepted it as truth. But it’s actually not! I’m shook! I knew Raven and Tara were characters, but now I just NEED to know who wrote that fanfic!!

The fanfic was obviously written by a Brit judging by their mangling of the English language which includes a lot of colloquial terms and misspellings common in the U.K.

Yep I thought it as well. They spelt words phonetically by following “British” phonetics. If they really wanna know who wrote it, they don’t have to look in America but in the UK lol, otherwise they’ll never found them lol. No wonder this has been going on for over a decade

now, i'd agree, very rarely do i see one of my niece's teen friends who don't already look to be in their 30s...but back then @_@ most of my friends that age and older looked like little kids, barely passing for teenagers, let alone high school juniors or college freshmen... :/ worse when some had puberty give them bodies of adults and still those very, very baby faces - but hey, turned out to be a blessing. everyone's different, some people look older as young teens and stay that way (or just keep ageing early) and some look unbelievably young well into being middle aged before really looking older, past perhaps crows feet and other wrinkles/sun spots. we saw this with actors/actresses, some who looked more like kids than the actual child stars, despite being adults. just part of the genetic dice roll

I really respect how elusive they remained and never let the internet corrupt them IRL. Legends!
I remember loving these videos. I never thought they were serious tho. I always felt they were playing characters and having fun.
I also remember this being one of the first channels where I would read the comments and be totally shocked and disgusted at some of the things people would post.
It was one of the first times i realized that there are many, MANY people out there who will say things anonymously online that they would never say to someone's face. Not just that, they would leave comments that would never be considered OK to say to another person at any time, for any reason. This is something that has gotten really out of hand in my opinion and even now I cannot come up with a reason that so many people want to leave comments of that nature I mean you see horrible horrible comments on TH-cam where people post about depression or that they are feeling suicidal and even though there will be dozens of comments where people are telling them things will get better and trying to help them there are always a handful of comments where some Anonymous scumbag tell them that they are worthless or they are seeking attention and they should just go ahead and do it.
what is it that makes a person feel good when they leave a comment that they know will hurt someone.

I was (still am to an extent) a goth kid in the mid 90's and remember when AOL instant messaging and chat rooms were popular in high school and myself and all my goth friends all had stereotypical "edgy" goth usernames that contained words like Raven, Blood, tears, Satan, roses, darkness etc etc. Oh, can't forget squeezing as many X's and 666's into the usernames so it'd look something like this "XXXBL00DYXTEARZ666XX "lol, so not so much a modern thing as it was just online. I remember sitting around for hours trying to come up with the coolest, darkest sounding usernames, lol.
or there was a lot of coincidences???

Lol it’s funny to me how in my immortal the authors changed the lightning bolt to a pentagram considering in the Bible it says “I saw Satan like lightning, falling from heaven.” Honestly they could’ve just left the lightning bolt if they wanted to portray that. The symbol of lightning being associated with Satan is a lesser known symbol of such as shown in the Bible. Light and Satan go hand and hand considering the translation of serpent from its original Hebrew translates as “the shinning one.” So clearly “light” or a false light is shown to be a symbol of Satan himself as shown by God in the old and new testaments

I'm so glad that the goth parody characters were being done by kids who were and are indeed goths or some kind of alternative scene. Its kinda cool to make fun of your own subculture as a teen and kind of a shallow & pathetic stunt id be in hindsight if was just two very 'normie' kids to cashing in jokes about the weird kids
As someone who has been in the goth scene since the 80s, that most certainly wasn't a goth parody. Emo at best. Never heard of these two, and not sure how this came to be in my recommendation. So glad I saw this so I know they're trolls. Cookie cutter "goths" who feel like they always have to be depressed and stay in character drive me batty (pun intended).

I've never heard of nor seen their videos before (though I was certainly gothy/emo kid myself).
But the fact that they had so many hate comments and people telling them to kill themselves is so disturbing.
It very much reminds me of the whole ordeal with BOTDF and Jessie Slaughter- a child who came forward about a REAL inappropriate relationship with a very REAL child predator, and instead of support...there were nothing but diss tracks, memes, endless harassment, and messages encouraging suicide.

I completely agree with you, but let's be real, people were saying that back then and they still say nasty things like that today as well, but today it's even worse because now people want to pretend like they care when people actually do go jump off of a bridge because they can't escape the bullying at school or even when they are at home anymore. It really is sad. Too many people come online and say things they never ever everrr would say in real life to someone's face. If you wouldn't say it to someone's face or you think it might be disgusting or rude if you did say it to someone's face, then you shouldn't be commenting it online.

We all have the choice to not go online, or to refrain from reading comments. While I don’t think it’s appropriate that people bully, call names, dox or threaten other people online, you also have the choice to not engage with other people online. If anything, I think it would serve people better to log off and spend more time with real human beings. People are fools and have allowed tvs, computers and phones to raise a generation of children who have no idea how to act in the real world.

I had a parody/troll LJ account with my friends called darkcutter666 or something, and another parody character that is still in use by one friend to this day (though everyone knows who is behind it now).
