I got one of these a couple days ago and I like it a lot. Admittedly I'm upgrading from a rather old SN30 Pro, so to be honest I'm just happy about having proper grips instead of the weird SNES form factor, but so far it feels good. The TMR joysticks feel really great. Comfortable to hold even with my long fingers. The Start and Select buttons are placed a bit awkwardly, so I ended up using C2 and C3 since they're a bit easier to reach. My only real complaints are that it seems a bit heavy (though I don't have similar controllers to compare it to so it might be normal) and I'm worried the motor for button swapping might wear out some day, because for some reason when I put it on the dock to charge, it swaps the buttons to Nintendo mode, and swaps them back when I pick it up again.
If the Dpad doesn't input diangles correctly for jumping in fighting games is not worth it. So many controllers fail in that point...like the Nyxi Wizard. It is horrible for fighting.
It's totally fine with diagonal inputs, it's just not as good as some membrane+pivot dpads or analog/arcade sticks. Totally normal behavior for tact switches, which is very accurate and comfortable to play if you're okay with this type of dpads.
@@J0rdan912 for fighting games I love the Dpad of the Mobapad Chitu HD, is perfect for diangles and fighting games. Do you think that the Gamesir Tarantula has the same touch for fighting games? I tried the Dpad of the Nyxi Wizard that is tactile and is horrible; you always end pushing a non desired input when playing fighting games at the point that the character is always crouching for example.
@@alfredoalbert7032 I'm still waiting delivery. But from initial reviews it looks like it's a high-quality dpad and the same one, similar to Xbox-like clicky dpads with tact switches, just cross shaped instead of circle. If you have Chitu, you can try both circle and cross shaped dpads, from my other controllers like 8bitdo or Flydigi I can say that circle shape + tact switches are better for fighting games, but on the other hand PS4 and PS5 controllers are perfectly fine with their cross + membranes. So it's strictly personal.
@@radiantansel202 I'm not everyone, as I said before if feels like a regular tact switches dpad, better than in previous Gamesir controllers, just not as good as recent 8bitdo or Flydigi
This is close to perfect, Ive been wanting those buttons beside the L and R for years, Im not sure if I missed something but what zi want the most from it would being able to set any button to a keyboard key, I play Cyberpunk a lot with controller and would love to be able to have my individual weapons on short cut keys, cycling through them I feel like a peasant
I really wish these third party controllers with back paddles and extra buttons would have a steam input mode, where you can control what every button does individually and use them for more than just what an xbox controller supports.
Okay, looks like that's gonna be my new Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, because my current one (8Bit Do Ultimate Wireless Controller) also gets used with my gaming laptop as an "Xbox Controller" and the Switch labelling on the buttons drives me bonkers! This solves that problem quite nicely, while adding extra Switch functions! 😎 EDIT: Thank you for the 10% Off Promo Code! Here in the States, the controller with the charging stand/dongle extender is currently $79.99, and that code takes $8.00 off! 😎
Okay, I ordered this, tried it out, and I've got to be honest: Even though I wanted a controller that I could use both as a Switch Pro Controller and a PC/Xbox Controller, where it can have BOTH button layouts, after trying it, I am NOT the target customer for this controller, and it's not for me for one simple reason -- It's a PLAYSTATION DUAL SHOCK STYLE CONTROLLER for use with Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox. As someone that's been using only Xbox/Switch Pro style controllers since 2007 when I bought my Xbox 360, my brain is having too hard a time adjusting back to the PlayStation controls layout. 😒 So, bottom line, IF you're a gamer whose go-to controllers are the PlayStation Dual Shock/Dual Sense or 3rd Party equivalent, if that's your favorite controllers, and all you use, you're going to love this controller. But if, like me, you long ago switched over to Xbox/Switch Pro style controllers and that's your go-to, you're not likely to be happy with this one. All of which begs the question: Why did Gamesir make this Switch/Xbox/PC controller in the style of a PlayStation controller to begin with? Why didn't they just make it an Xbox/Switch Pro style controller? And who do we have to kill to get them to do just that -- make a controller with (most) of these features, including the convertible buttons, in the Xbox/Switch Pro shape and layout? 🤔 Unfortunately, I'm thinking this one's going back to Amazon for me. But as always, Your Mileage May Vary.
i haven't tried this one yet so i'm not exactly sure, but usually with controllers like this, there's an xinput mode that has all the regular buttons (xyab, lt/rt, and lb/rb) and analogue triggers but no gyro. and then there's a switch mode with the same buttons AND gyro, but digital triggers instead of analogue. and then all the extra buttons are just mappable to either other buttons on the controller in most of them, while some have a software that lets you map it to other things but they usually still arent recognized in steaminput.
I want to buy this but a few things i want to know keep not getting covered. For one, does that middle button function as a steam home button in big picture mode? Secondly, can i remap those extra buttons as singular keyboard keys along with multiple keys for keyboard hot keys. If yes to all of this then i will buy it but nobody I've seen has shown this yet.
Man its good, i wanted like this kind of a layout. I was saving money for x5 controller Now this is also a consideration. X5 vs this Which will be good?
It is so difficult to pull off moves in street fighter and other fighters with the dpad. I also had an issue with the sticks not working in 2.4 g wireless mode. So weird. Returned after 1 day.
I bought this one since I am a fan of Gamesir controller. I had the gamesir kaleid t4, nova lite, cyclone and this new one. Its a good controller but isnt worth the price. Kinda uncomfortable to use, you need time to get use of it. I just tested it and store it. Gamesir Kaleid T4 is still my main. I wont recommend this for its price as of now.
Hey thanks a lot for the review! Do you know if the layout switch binding can be changed? -It's in case there's a game that requires you to hold A for a really long time and to avoid the controller switching on me.- Never mind, I just got to that part of the video haha. I'm a sucker for controllers, have too many, and I'm gonna purchase this one right away lol. Thanks!
The controller is riddled with bugs…. First of all the paddles only work every other time you press them, the controller will perform functions without you pressing buttons, the controller doesn’t work on any gamesir app (but I hear they’re working on that). I mean the idea is great but the controller itself has ALOT of issues. I bought one from Amazon and sent it in for a replacement and the replacement had the exact same issues… unfortunate
I love xbox controller . But this is almost like a ps2. I will get this for pc and play halo on it 😂, i dont like the ps5 controller much and idk whyyy
TMR sticks are a newer type that are supposed to be more power efficient and accurate while still being magnetic like hall-effect sticks meaning little to no risk of stick drift. Can't say for sure if they're better than hall-effect but they're far from a dealbreaker from what I've seen.
It’s a rare review that doesn’t spend a substantial amount of time demonstrating all the pretty RGB colors. Bravo!
PlayStation layout needs PS buttons as an option in the swappable buttons! 🍻

Was worried about it too but worse case scénario even if locked the bottons will still work
Cool that thing of spinning the buttons layout physically but that add a new layer of problem if breaks
Tbh most players would press it once (or ten+) times out of the box. Then never again.

Idk why symmetrical stick layout is hated by everyone
@@Micchi- yeah same tbh!
Thumbs touching each other. That's my main issue. I always have to be careful to not scratch my thumbs.
Some people just prefer Xbox-style gamepads, that's it. I have a bunch of different gamepads and picking one that fits better for certain games,
i hate them too but damn THIS one is sexy
Man i love symmetrical, its the layout that makes sense to me.
Ive sorta kinda been in the market for a controller recently *oh boy I need this.*

I hope someday there will be controller, with PS layout + Xbox style button and Touchpad. Touchpad is very useful when it comes to PC Gaming.
Is this controller recognized by Steam Input? What buttons Steam Input protocol will allow to re-map? Thank you

this is basically all that matters
any review that doesn't test this is useless
theres not a single controller on earth that steam input doesnt support.
No steam input support and the the extra face buttons are so far away from the sticks they're basically useless.

Yes, all this is possible through their Windows application, GameSir Connect. Mine just arrived and I tested all of this
Great stuff. Keep up the good work. You will have a million subs before you know it.
Thanks dude 🙌
Hey bro did those TMR sticks feels better than other before gamesir hall effect?
Are the front buttons matte or glossy? They look glossy on video, but I see there's some texturing on them.
This is such a showboater of a controller and I'm here for it.
I just got my 8bitdo ultimate 3 mode 😢😢😢 But i want this!
Not a bad choice imo, keep in mind this is a sponsored video, the gamesir build quality and d-pad and face button quality is horrendous.

Would you choose this over the Vader 4 Pro?
Maaaa games sir I’ll be buying this right now!
Hey, was wondering if you could do a video about the best Marco Xbox Controller
Why isn't anyone talking about gyro on pc through steam...
If I can play n64 games with this controller with 6 buttons not joystick I will buy this
Please Do Flydigi Vader 4 Pro 🙏🏻
the locations of the customizable buttons aren't ideal.
I do emulate Nintendo games. Because they deserve it at this point and deserved for some years.
But dang, this thing IS stacked.
use your pointer finger for the fron buttons this controller is amazing for the price!!! its a real pro controller!!!! little bit of che

They are supposed to be hall effect like and even more efficient/reliable. But alright then.
no mention of steam input distinct mapping?
the most important thing you could have mentioned in the review....
useless
You shouldn't be using steam anyway especially when steam can remove games from your library even if you've purchase a game from their site.
Specs are amazing but design sucks.
ngl, the more i look at it the more i like it
I don’t care for the little gear window, seeing the buttons swap over is good enough imo.
