So happy someone finally thought of making the rod on alloy caps longer, that being said, the cast should also be solid at the spot where the torque is felt most, that being where the plate and the rod meets up.

Nice looking razor, i'd love to see a shave review with it. My only problem with razors like this is it's zinc alloy at a 50$ price tag. For a few more dollars you can buy a CNC precision machined razor in 316L SS from Italian Barber like their Gamechanger, Mamba, Lupo, or BBS series.

In Europe those cost ~120€ so more than double the price

True but at the end of the day, the way it shaves is what matters most. Dovo is using Chrome 3 plating and brass inserts like the Muhle R89 so the threads should last. So far I've seen many reviewers describe it as gentle like a 34c but more efficient and they were giving high praise for the way it shaves.
Not knocking Razorock razors, they are amazing but Dovo seems to simply offer something different which might work great for some people.

@@saguarosmart4100 I am sure it shaves great, but a lot of modern razors do so price and material is always very important. I have a razor from Roman Empire Shaving called the Caesar, which came with 20 premium blades. The razor only cost me $10, it's heavy, SS handle, and it shaves great, but I wouldn't pay 50$ for it. The razor shave just as well as a DE89 or 34c.

A former boss of mine who was a German immigrant used “primo” to express approval. Essentially, instead of “Great job!” he would just say “Primo!”
Honestly, I always thought he was using an Italian word. This had to be almost 30 years ago. I don’t think of the job that much, but the shop owners were awesome people.
So, name reminded me of him. Onto the Interwebs I go and, apparently, primo translates to great or best from German.
Perfect name for a first razor from Dovo.

Always wondered why strait razor companies didn't make double edge razors, maybe that's changing. This Dovo looks good in gleaming chrome, shame it's zink alloy but that could change. Waiting for the shave debut now. Thanks.

This razor is intriguing. So far several reviewers say that even though the head looks very similar to the Merkur 34c, they measured several differences in dimensions that lead to a different, more efficient shave.
I have not tested it but so far the very few people that mention it have high praise for the shave it delivers, apparently as gentle as a 34c but more efficient.

But in Italian, Primo means first. So, maybe they're using the Italian word and, in turn, referring to this razor as being their first offering?

Even though some say the derby extra blades dont give that great of a shave, do they give a smoother and closer shave than the best gillette cartridge blades?

Hello Matt im not sure this would be possible as i know your a very busy guy, but i absolutely love the look of your lather and iv been trying to learn and imitate your technique but finding it difficult and getting water everywhere and it starts running all down my brush and the lather seems to have all air bubbles in, you do it very fast in the videos so was wondering if you could make a video specifically on how to lather ? I use dense badger knots so it would be great if you could use your trotters brush and explain in abit of detail the keys to a great lather and mention some points for example how long to load for and how wet your brush is before you start loading ect.
Completely understand if this is not possible but would absolutely love to see it if possible and think would be very helpful

Dovo's website states they design, manufacture and package the entire razor from A to Z in Germany, including the packaging. Considering EU regulations and Dovo's long industrial history and expertise with manufacturing, I think it's safe to say they are definitely made in Germany.
