Hi Meg,for your information,on 12th April 2024 when i arrived and ask the staff at JR service centre at Narita airport for a welcome suica card, they said out of stock but instead they ask me to purchase the normal suica card (with a nice penguin printed on the card).Just to share with everyone of you.Btw,i am still in Tokyo when i write this comment
@@JDxGameplays you can get the pasmo passport card that's valid for 30 days at the kesei info store at the bottom of terminal one right before all the trains at narita. I'm sure haneda airport has the other one as well
Non-Japanese Android phones do not have the proprietary FeLiCa NFC technology that is used in Japan and so cannot make use of mobile Suica/Pasmo However, Apple has licensed and put the technology in their iPhones sold worldwide since the iPhone 8 so it's available to all iPhone users.
Hi Meg. Thanks for sharing this. I’m planning for our trip but is still confused with the JR pass. The trip is from Tokyo - Kyoto - Osaka - Tottori - Tokyo for 14days. Do you think the jr pass is still worth it in that? Would love to know your input on it.
Thanks for the video ! it was very helpful :). I have both an old Suica and Pasmo from 2017 that should still work for me! Can you recharge both at Narita airport ? I was hoping to get a Pasmo passport but I read they are no longer available after August 2024 :( Also planning on getting a JR pass for some long distance trips
Hi Meg - does the 24 hour Tokyo Subway Ticket start expiring as soon as you purchase it or only after you use it for the first time? For example, if I purchase a 24 hour pass on Monday, but only begin using it on Tuesday, when would it expire? Thank you!
Hello Meg, Im planning to visit tokyo and kawaguchi then travel one way to kyoto. What should I purchase for my transportation? Thankyou for your videos!
Hi Meg, I will be arriving at Terminal 2 Haneda Airport at 1930 and I need to go to Terminal 3 to purchase the WELCOME SUICA Card. Can you tell me how to get from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3 after going through Immigration, please. Also, is the Vending Machine to buy WELCOMA SUICA at Terminal 3 still available until 2300 for me to buy it? Thank you 😊
Hi Meg I recently saw in the suica webpage that the nice suica card (the one with the penguin) is only sold to residents. In another hand, welcome suica is gonna be sold only for foreign tourists. Do you think is just for the chip shortage? or is a desicion that is not gonna change? Im posibily travelling in July and my wife and I really wanted the penguin card hahaha. Thanks for the useful information ¡¡¡

Question 🙋: if I purchase suica or toica in Tokyo, then I want to refund my remaining credit in kansai airport before leaving Japan; can I do that..? Arigato in advance 🙏
You will not be able to get a refund as you would need to approach a ticket office from the railway network you bought it from. JR East sells Suica, Tokyo and Toei Metros the Pasmo, JR Central Toica and JR West, ICOCA. As Osaka's (and Kansai Airport) JR lines are under JR West, they will not be able to do a refund for non-ICOCA cards.
Hey Meg, thanks for the informative video. I try to download Pasmo app in my android phone, but the app is in japanese language and not able to go beyond the first page. The only alternative is to purchase physical Pasmo or suica, right?

@@javiergutierrez5064 thank you, im arriving at narita terminal 2 though
It would be nice to see different ways to transfer from one airport to another like HND to NRT or vice versa. Thanks. 😊
Thanks for this useful information! Very relevant for me, because I like walking on Tokyo streets :)
Thanks for this information. I have a question though. What is the best way to transfer from Haneda airport to Narita airport?

When I go to Osaka from Tokyo, I usually use a normal ticket. You can book seats from Smart EX.
