These cars are quicker than the r5 and are some of the quickest on gravel atm. Also as for the skoda sound they said they were trying to get a real skoda to record sound off but didnt get it in time however are going to update the sound soon

That rally Australia 2005 story is definitely one of the most heartbreaking stories in wrc history
Good of you to call out the developers with the 'Copy&Paste' of the Focus engine sound from the first Dirt Rally.
It's just a placeholder until they can record the real deal. They're using the sound of the Mini Countryman from DR1 as a placeholder for the C4 as well.

@@iamtheVP I honestly can't be bothered going through the threads on the Codemasters forum tbh, heh. But they always do their utmost to get the authentic car recordings where they can, and add a decent substitute for when they cannot.
Would love to see the old Peugeot 206 WRC make an appearance in this game ;P

This car reminds me of a rally my dad an I watched together when I was very young. All I remember from it is that almost all the cars crashed and few made it through. There was one however, that I distinctly remember managing to survive and that was this Skodia Fabia. The Shell decal on the hood really stood out, and I still remember seeing it speeding away as if it was yesterday.
Your comment just made me remember of my rally memories...Group A here, TAP Rally of Portugal. One of the stages was right here at my door...All I had to do was just standing there and watch em flying by...Tommy Makinen, Colin Mcrae, Carlos Sainz...ahhhhh the nostalgia man...I still have a Tshirt that I was wearing, that McRae and Carlos Sainz signed themselves at the end of a Super Special stage here in Figueira Da Foz 1997, McRae was driving the Subaru Impreza "555", and Carlos Sainz the Ford Escort Cosworth (Repsol livery)...Sht I miss those times so bad...!
This car holds some special personal memories to me, as I went to Wales in 2005 to see Colin in that car.
That weekend would later end in tragedy with the death of Michael Park on the Sunday.
I later went to Wales 2017 with one goal: Have the picture I took in the Millennium Stadium signed by his protege Kris Meeke. Goal achieved!

Great video Jimmer!! As for the dlc cars.....i was looking at the standings on a career event on DR2.0 and the 2 cars appeared on the list. This shows me that the cars were in the game before release and codies put a paywall. I have the game and im enjoying it but tactics like these are shady imo.

The Fabia has an engine sound we've already heard before, but the Citroen C4 sounds absolutely fantastic.
i gave this car and rally a try, was not disappointed 10/10
All we need now is the Octavia lol and this Fabia was my all time favourite WRC Cars!

I'm annoyed with Codemasters for so many aspects of this game, despite at the same time loving other parts of it.
Your wheel inputs seem more responsive than mine - T300 on PS4 but that shouldn't matter. Have you tweaked the settings/rotation in anyway?
Gen 2 Focus and '08 Impreza are coming as part of the first season as well to fill that class more, so there will be more cars to compare against :P

Collin McRae was a flat out or nothing driver. That might be a carried over sound effect but so sweet! Hoping simTubers like yourself can do some time trials over different stages and cars? Iv checked my times against other drivers and thought I was fast on the stages! Wow there’s some quick wheelers out there 😳

Just did 06:16.553 and it amazes me that I'm still 36 seconds of the top time. I used G27 with 900 degrees of rotation and h-shifter with clutch.

There's a 2008 Impreza coming to go with this and the Citroen. And as someone else mentioned, Codemasters are trying to find a car to record audio from and will update the game as and when.
Also you gotta turn the in-game wheel on just to look at it with its marvellous green and red gear shifter rings :D

I do agree it kinda sucks that they copy and pasted the sound but at least they didn't do it on a scale of FH4 they took it to a point that they were having cars with the same sound that had there OWN AUDIO FILE in the last game

In my opinion the sound isn't quite the same as the focus. It's "looks" similar but I think that it's because of the engine type
Its shame that Škoda stepped out of the WRC and is doing only S2000 and R5 in recent years. I know they are successfull there but common WRC is WRC. I hope one day they return. This Fabia WRC is one of my all time favourite rally cars.

Here's how the Skoda Fabia WRC sounds IRL, so I agree that it indeed is a bit disappointing that CM simply copied the Focus sound from the first Dirt Rally game. The car dash/display of the Fabia is also incorrect in Dirt Rally 2.0 compared to how it actually is as shown in the onboard video behind the link as well.

How do you get so good at this game so quick? I'm on controller but God dam do you know how to maintain a slide and keep her straight! If I get even a little sideways on the straights I'm going into a tree no doubt lol, one day I'll reach your level

Couple of times going sideways you needed to look out the side window - have you looked into getting a trackir?
I'm trying to use the FaceTrackNoIR with an old PS3 EyeCam on my PC, but it is too sensitive and have to re-center all of the time. Is TrackIR better? I would prefer to use it with the "passive" clip-on rather than the clip that goes on a headset since I don't normally use headphones.

I do prefer the Citroën however - that thing is a beast of a car. But then again, of all the cars in the game, it would be the fastest irl.

This Fabia reminds me of the Peugeot 206 WRC... Similarly short wheelbase (slightly shorter than most other cars of its time), except the Fabia wasn't really all that successful...
