This engine is beyond amazing with its accomplishments, first ever V8 that has good gas mileage, but at the same time it’s loaded up with problems, I just think from 2009 until 2014 they weren’t fully developed for operating.
you obviously don't own one if you think it gets good gas mileage. It is about par for a v8. It is also probably comparable to say, a 5.0L naturally aspirated v8. BMW's classification of this as 50i is a good one. www.fuelly.com/car/bmw/x5/2011/tbirdfiend281/561524 for reference, that is my X5
What size crowfoot tool did you use to remove the fuel supply line? Where you able to remove it from the top of the engine or did you have to go underneath?
Man you’re standing in front of the camera for like half of the video!! How am I supposed to use this? Why even wear a GoPro on your chest if you’re not going to edit the video to show what you’re doing when you’re in front of the camera? You should mount the GoPro on the hood facing down for a Birdseye view.
Doing this job now. Wow is this thing over engineered, i think thats whats so frustrating about these vehicle...im confident that it can be designed much much simpler. Stripped everything off the top today. Will have to go to the store for a crows foot set tomorrow to take fuel lines off. Do the injectors have to come out to pull the cover?
I have bank 1 misfire I swapped the coil and new spark plug and also erased code but the problem still remain is it the fuel injector problem pls thanks
I wish you weren’t standing in the way of the camera, there’s a few times you’re working on something that I can’t see and I want to use these videos to replace my injectors. You’re working on the X5, but I have the 550i, I’m assuming since it’s the same N63 engine everything is the same?
Actually yes..........you can have the engine out of that car in about an 2 hours. I've seen it done in one. It would actually be easier to remove the engine.
@@edwinlomonacofoolsend Yeah, the car in that video was also RWD only and removing the engine in an hour assumes you have a lift, hoist and/or removal table to get everything out that fast.
Most the time all we see is your back buddy.
How did you get to the lines to uninstall. From the bottom orvtop of car?
AGA tools has a special socket that makes it very easy. Or you can do it from under the car if you have a lift. The top is super easy .
@MaicSalazarDiagnostics Ok, and thanks for quick response. The crow foot tool?
@@TONY63557 that is correct.
@MaicSalazarDiagnostics ok, Thank you sir.

Does your company reimburse you for buying all the special tools?

You deserve it! Excellent work and videos. Are you planning on opening your own shop in the future?

What does oil in the broken crank case vent lines mean?
I know this is 2 years later but it’s normal operation
Thumbs up for this video just for the comments regarding accessibility and how ignorant jobs like this are!

Edwin Lomonaco wow! In 2 hours? I’ll really like to see that? I mean remove the lower control arms in this car takes longer than that!
