I beat Cuphead through sheer love of the art style! It helped that it was one of the only games my wife liked watching. I honestly don’t know how I did it. The Dragon and Hilda Berg were insane. I will say that finding the right weapon helps a lot, and there’s almost inevitably pattern luck involved whenever you actually manage to beat a level.
We will begin preparing your knighthood ceremony immediately! Nice work. I just don't think I've got it in me. But every now and again, I still go back to it and think, 'This time...' That art is absolutely fantastic, though. I'm sure we'll see more from the developer relatively soon.
I thought Alien Soldier would be here, though it was a game that was hard to find for the Mega Drive and became a sought-after collectable. It has been since released digitally. It was made by Treasure, the developers of the excellent Gunstar Heroes.
Hello! Yeah, Alien Soldier was tough. I haven't played that for years. Gunstar Heroes is one of my favourite ever Mega Drive games. I still play the Game Boy Advance version - Futures. Thanks for watching!
Celest seems like an odd choice to me. I admit I haven't played it since it came out but I don't remember ever getting stuck or finding it super hard. Two platformers that do stick out in my mind as being particularly hard are Donkey Kong Country Returns and even more so 1001 spikes. Both aregood if at times hardgames.
Hi! I think Celeste requires a lot of patience. You don't have the enemies to deal with as much, like you do in the other games, but you do have to stick at it to progress, I find. You're right about Donkey Kong Country Returns - and Tropical Freeze is quite tough. I haven't tried 1001 Spikes, I'll take a look at that. Thanks for watching!
sadly the only games ive beaten on this list are the OG snes ghosts and goblins,Cuphead platinumed cuphead actually and the og Snes star wars. my biggest accomplishment as a child was battletoads and contra when i was 6 for both of them battletoads took half a year that sewer level was the death of me once i got through that though i finished the game finally. My biggest acheivement was Ninja Gaiden black master ninja tournement mode on the og xbox top 5 players won a trip to japan to meet itagaki the creator of Ninja Gaiden it was a speed running tournement beat the game on master ninja mode under 5 hours i came sixth so i never got to go meet him and get a signed copy of the game from him as well as some cool merch :(
You got the platinum for Cuphead?! Clearly you are a platform master! Don't think I'll ever manage that. Battle Toads and Contra were rock hard - and I love Ninja Gaiden. You were very unlucky with that tournament, but 6th is pretty damn good in my book!
i beat cuphead but i’m till scared to get the dlc for it 😂 it’s the only game i’ve screamed at the tv in years over 😂 it definitely earned its 10/10 rating
I can confirm the Delicious Last Course is just as brutal. You did well to beat the base game, I don't think I've got it in me! But just one more try...
Try Target Earth, and Thunderforce II for Genesis. Both are Fantastically challenging games, with Arcade level difficulty. Battle Squadron for the Amiga, is not that bad up top... but once you go underground, its downright Brutal. Now... I LOVE hard games... but R-Type, especially in the later stages, is just too much for me. If you get hit once, in the later stages... it can be virtually impossible to win (Many people just reset the game, and start again from scratch). I dont feel R-Type is balanced fairly enough... and being that some of the later stages are the least visually appealing, Its a total turn-off to me.
Hello! I know exactly what you mean. Those 16-bit shooters are BRUTAL. Funnily enough, I was playing Thunderforce IV last night, and that final crab boss thing... Thanks so much for watching!
Super Star Wars can only be played on a super Nintendo with an original cartridge My bet friend and neighbour had Star Wars as a s kid, but they played it on a PAL snes, so that is cheating, because it runs in slow motion I will wait for a ohysical release of GnG R. I had no idea that NewZealans Story was such a deep game. I just gave up on it, perhaps I should look again. Yhanks for this list! I'm now wondering how these hard games should be played. With a real fightstick joystick perhaps?
Hi! I was playing Super Star Wars via PS Store download for this video, so if you're a PS gamer you're still in luck. Enjoy the games and thanks for watching!

Haha much obliged, YRH!

i love the art style of Cup Head, but I fear playing it,
maybe one day if it goes on super sale, I will give it a try
These all look way too stressful for me. I'll stick to the cod campaign on easy
