Video games and gaming culture, for adults.
Tired of watching low-quality videos aimed at kids and uber nerds? Video Games Forever (VG4E) is the channel for gamers that have grown up with the industry, but still manage to see the sun and get to a bar once in a while - it's the channel for everyday people who love their video games, but don't consider them to be life and death.
Written and presented by a publishing professional - Adam - VG4E takes an often humourous look at the games you may have missed over the years, and asks whether those games are still worth playing today. There's also discussion around the wider industry and its triumphs, problems and controversies, top five/ten lists, reviews, and just some general, good old fashioned silliness with a controller in hand.
Need a break from real life for a minute? Pull up a cookie and let Video Games Forever poke you in the gigglies.

Midnight Fight Express! Hell yeah! 👍👍👍
The TH-cam algorithm really came through with bringing this video to my feed. Went and bought Dragons Crown Pro and Fight n Rage after watching, already knew of the others. Thanks for the video 👍
I'm delighted to hear it, thank you! Enjoy the new games, and thanks for watching.
great video!
Thank you - and thanks for watching!
I appreciate you not burying the lead and kicking things off with the game with the women who like showing off their tits.
What are everyones favourite arcade racers of all time? Mine are Burnout 3: Takedown and Motorstorm: Pacific Rift.
Great choices. I'd put forward Wreckfest as a recent game, and probably Micro Machines 2: Turbo Tournament from the 16-bit era. But there have been so many great racers, it's not easy!
@@Video_Games_Forever TT is a great game, I still have it in my Megadrive collection. V3 on the PS1 was a lot of fun too thinking about it. 8 players couch coop!
@superspecky4eyes Yeah, that was mental! Who does 8-player local multiplayer these days? Someone get on it!
@Video_Games_Forever I remember having eight friends in my old bedroom, it was a riot. it got so hot and sweaty in that old box room. Sweaty teens.. it must have stunk haha.
@superspecky4eyes Ha! Those were the days, eh? I remember playing Track & Field on the PS1 with my brother and two friends using the multitap, furiously hammering the buttons in the 100m race. I'm surprised no one died. It was probably less effort to actually run 100m.
Here I am sitting thinking "Why don't they make great Arcade racing games anymore?" and this video blops into my feed. Subscribed!
Ha! Perfect timing. And you're very welcome at the channel!
I knew about Maiden Cops. I follow the developers' itch. I haven't had much money to get it, but at some point it's gonna end up in my library for sure. That and Vengeance Hunters, for sure. As for what am I playing lately... I'm trying to clear Fist Hell, from the UFO 50 collection, without deaths to get the cherry disk. It's, appropriately, hellishly difficult.
Fist Hell! Yeah, that's gonna be tough. Classic game. Not a bad little collection that UFO 50. Enjoy the new releases when you get the chance, and thanks for watching!
Thoughts on Genki coming back with a new TXR game?
I need to see more. I like the idea of a wacky story and characters as a way of progressing, but miles and miles of dark grey roads and potentially underwhelming handling could well be a turn-off. I'll happily give it a chance when the game's finished, though.
"TITS TITS TITS" but bleeps fuck like a coward.
Prodeus - finally a game, that really feels like doom, except modern. I will give this a try - I've played a lot brutal doom/brutal wolfestein (you can do great things with mods). If I could recommend to create video I would propose "fpp games with retro/arcade/fast gameplay". I'm just not sure there are enough titles to actually make a decent list (Ion Fury?). PS: I LOVE pixel/2d art. They latelly created metals slug in 3d. Kids in comments were happy at most (why orginal is maybe best ever), I consider making this game in 3d, a crime - and were talking hard long time here. Fans created Metal Slug Fanhology on openBor- when you install reshade on it + crt filters its probably best Metal Slug to play up to date. Accually I think Prodeus would benefit from reshade too.
The Takeover is pretty good. I had a decent time playing Mayhem Brawler a while back as well.
Yeah, The Takeover is really good - I covered that in a previous video for five modern brawlers people may have missed.
great video! good job!
I appreciate it - thanks for watching!
I wanted to love Hot Shot Racing, but there’s just something off with the handling, that and the overly aggressive ai.
Not all the cars handle equally, it's true. And the AI will happily block you off. But get some four-player split-screen on the go and everything levels out nicely.
Great games. Especially iron meat is a BLAST! Rich, greatly playable contra. On easy levels you can play casually (like I do this days). You should include "huntdown" in next list - this actually is best modern shooting platform game up to my knowledge. Real gem. Blazing chrome looks promising too (I have not played it yet). SuperCyborg is great but, but a less rich (it's a real close contra clone for like 4 dollars on steam?)
Thanks again. Huntdown is excellent - I covered that and Blazing Chrome in a video for run and gunners a little while back. I've got some more little-known action platformers coming very soon...
@@Video_Games_Forever I will definitely watch this video.... and quite frankly all others on you channel :) I see subs are fine despite relatively small number of videos - this shows how much channel /content like this are needed. I hope for better future, because of AI (despite how dangerous ai is) its easier for people to create great mods, and arcade like games.... even movies I guess. Creative people will not be limited with lack of 20 graphics designers to create game. (at least till you can generate more or less what you want - bot is not telling you: you cant do this - its 99% sure the will)
This is best game channel right now. I'm serious. I had no idea you can still find, modern, graphical fine, and contend rich arcade style games.... and almost for free. Especially racing game are had to find - i bought like half form your list. You could make a video about totally free games made by fans (openBor, mugen, mods community, hi res mods) - I could give you decent list (but I guess you know them already)
I really appreciate it, thank you. I always try to find some games that people may have missed, and they often have the added bonus of being pretty cheap. Thanks for watching, you're very welcome at the channel!
@@Video_Games_Forever You welcome. Games like that should be promoted by people like us, because this way developers will have more money to make more (against mainstream.... click, click, click, no chalenge.... cutscene....pay microtransations - so called modern games are not games anymore)
aaaaahhhhhhhh tits showing games.
I need to stop watching your vids I've spent a fortune this week on physical copies of some of these games. BTW I found my Neo Geo for $150 back in the day and still have it. Between that and the Jaguar I'm sure it will pay for a nice vacation for someone when I'm dead.
Haha! Well, it sounds like you got at least one bargain with the Neo Geo. Enjoy your new-found games, and welcome to the channel!
What a great list! Woden GP has been on my wishlist for quite a while, New Star GP and Skydrift as well.
Thank you kindly. Enjoy the games - and thanks for watching!
My issue with the Super Woden games has always been the viewpoint; it's just not a natural angle from which to play a racing game. Rush Rally Origins has the same issue but crucially for that game there is the option of a zoomed-out chase view; I'd recommend that game before either of the Woden's. It also helps that Rally games have instructions being called out which means you don't need to constantly glance at the minimap. There's also Ultimate Racing 2D for top-down but the developer of that game is happy to rip people off by keeping the first game on sale even though the second game has superceded it in every way and has all the content from the first on top.
You do need to get to know the tracks in Woden, especially at speed. I really like Rush Rally Origins - I covered that in a recent video. Circuit Superstars is also worth a look, especially for the multiplayer.
Appreciate your full list in the description and great summaries. Other channels try to make it difficult for viewers to get the info they want and that always keeps me from coming back to rewatch.
I'm glad you appreciate it, thank you. And thanks for watching!
I just got the WRC rally game by EA on my PS5 (which I think was originally a PS4 game) and is a lot of fun and has a very good sense of speed. It's also made by Codemasters, the team behind the original Colin McCrae one the PS1. Sega Really in the arcade was always a favourite of mine and if you like Rally games I'd recommend this one, it has a lot of tracks and a load of new and old cars to choose from. Tweaking the HDR settings can make it look real nice too. And like you mentioned about Gravel "The world needs more fun, not sterile simulations". I found this to be the case with Gran Turismo 7. The graphics are incredible and playing it with the PSVR2 is really something else, but I'm just not having fun with it and the whole experience just feels like one big grind?
That's the thing I found with GT7: looks great, loads of content - but is it fun?
F-Zero on the GameCube is still one of my all time favourite arcade racers. Customization and unlockables take up nearly a full memory card and has piss poor handling but is one of the fastest games in the universe and unquestionably 100% pure fun!
Yeah, I loved that game. The way the tracks twisted and undulated - and the outrageous speed! Fast Racing Neo is quite a good recent take on the same ideas. And Redout II, which I covered in a video for underrated arcade racers a little while back, might also be worth a look.
first game looks like 1993 arcade game World Rally Championship. I love it.
Yeah! Takes me back. Great fun.
These games remember us what a videogame should be first of all: FUN!!! Not realistic, not politically correct, not super advanced in graphics, but fun!!!
Absolutely! Fun wins for me every time. Thanks for watching!
Look nice
Don't sound so down on the game that you used as a thumbnail 😂
No one's down on it, it's great fun. But there are a lot of breasticles. Just had to mention it. In case people missed them.
Seriously what is up with, Arcade Achieves. Release your catalog on the PC and Xbox already!!
I know! There has to be some weird licensing thing lurking somewhere.
Circuit Superstars is worth a mention I reckon
It certainly is - I''ve got that game at the top of another video I did a little while back for five underrated arcade racers. Great fun.
Have you played Gravel? It's like DiRT 5, except better from what I've heard.
Oh yes - you can find that at the top of a more recent video I did for 10 of the best arcade racers. Great game!
Only two videos for suscribed, very good videos.
I appreciate it, thank you - and welcome to the channel!
"Road Redemption" should have been on this list. Definitely more worthy than some of these other games listed. The people making the upcoming "KingMakers" game made a spiritual successor to road rash and it's fantastic.
I need to try that game. I loved Road Rash back in the day.
Karate survivor gives me 'Jackie Chan' vibes. 🤔🤷
Exactly what I was thinking while I was playing. I bet he'd love the game!
Dragon Crown's thick-thighed women; who drew them. Art instructors encourage students to draw what they know.
Tough girls, those. Get their squats in.
This channel is DANGEROUS. From just 2 videos I've already added like 7 games onto my PS4 Wishlist. THIS is what people need to look up instead of AAA Slop Drama videos.
I appreciate it, thank you! I'm really pleased to be able to show you a few new games. Good luck with the wishlist, and thanks for watching!
Circuit Superstars has been my Wishlist for ages and I didn't know it has so many vehicles, and pitstop! I will give it a shot I guess.
Please do, it's great fun. And thanks for watching!
This a good list! Thank you!
My pleasure. And thanks for watching!
Everytime he says tuts is so funny
5:50 I mean, Remember Me showed that there's a ton of potential in 3d beat 'em ups.
I really enjoyed that game. Ironically, very few people seem to remember it, sadly.
I had not seen your channel before, but this video was in my recommendation feed a few days ago. I didn't know what to expect based on the thumbnail and the video title because sometimes such things don't pan out. But this was genuinely very good. It reminded me that I need to have a look at Zero Team which looks better than I expected. The overall selection of games is interesting. Some of these, like Vengeance Hunters and Final Vendetta, were on my radar. I wasn't aware of some of these. Maiden Cops looks worth at least a further investigation and Jitsu Squad looks very well made. I like that Jitsu Squad has a lot happening on screen, but doesn't appear to shake the screen much, an effect which does not agree with me. I'll definitely be looking into that one. I'm already familiar with Metamorphic Force, which is fantastic, so good to see you feature it. Lastly, I was just thinking about Transformers Devastation. Not only was I not aware that it was delisted until recently, but it was available for sale digitally for a rather short time, which really says a lot about digital distribution the way it is set up right now.
Hello! I'm glad I could introduce you to a few new possibilities, and thanks for your kind words. There are quite a few gems, old and new, hiding on the digital storefronts. I just hope as many as possible enjoy physical releases, too. Thanks for watching - plenty more to come!
Demons of Asterborg and Vengeful Guardians... I played those two and they are awesome! My recommendation: "Hardcore Mecha". A spectacular platformer that will delight the fans of anime mechas like Gundam or Macross.
Great recommendation. And I can confirm that Hardcore Mecha will be appearing in my next video, alongside nine other action platformers that may be of interest... Thanks for watching!
i did NOT KNOW about Metamorphic force getting released on switch! Thanks for the info! I spent SO many quarters on that game with buddies at the roller rink back in the day!
I'm very happy to bring you the good news! Enjoy, and thanks for watching!
10/10 game😊

Glad you enjoyed it, thank you! And welcome at the channel!
Gravel has SOOOOOO much potential!! Love that it was included!
I agree! I really hope Milestone come back to it with a new sequel. So much fun.
How the hell no1 has heard about Itorah? It was literally in Steam highlighted games....I have worked on that game man, and now i see this game on a YT video saying its a game nobody has heard of??? 😭😭😭 WTH man....
Hopefully a lot more people have heard about it and are playing now!
>Clickbait thumbnail Me: sigh…well, I’m curious enough that I’ll check anyway- >Source of the thumbnail is the FIRST game being talked about >Not tossed somewhere in the middle >Not all the way at the very end Me: Okay, liked and subscribed just for not burying the damn lead, thank CHRIST.
I'm glad you appreciate the way I've organised things, thank you. The 'cover' game was just too funny to bury anywhere else in the video, I had to address it straight away. Thanks again, you're very welcome at the channel!
this commentary is the tits
Interesting games. Especially for portable format.
I remember the shadow gangs developer pushing that game so hard, it was horrible then, looks a bit updated now but still looks stiff as hell. I know it's an ode to Shinobi so there's a set of rules about it but even so, I dunno, I'm biased I guess but still looks meh.
Hello! Shadow Gangs is nowhere near as polished as Shinobi, but then the developer couldn't call on SEGA's resources. As a cheap - and very challenging - action platformer, it might be worth a look for genre fans.
2:49 is that Johnny Gioli?
