Hello everyone! One correction to my voiceover that someone has kindly pointed out: the brilliant, Bubble Bobble-style game that appears first in this list is indeed called Slam and Roll, not Smash and Roll, which I am heard to say. Apologies to the devs and everyone for the mix-up! I'm old. I get confused easily these days...
The writing on these videos is beautiful, there's a quotable snippet on just about every game. And the deadpan delivery really works for the jokes. Great stuff.
FIIINALEEEE!! After years of videos like this by Americans who say heck instead of hell - and that's as close to edgy they'll ever get, i KNEW this would be darker after the intro offered those suggestions for making money by performing certain 'acts' on the docks. Different humour aside, all descriptions were eloquently put and still very factual. Add that ive become a huge Segoku fan thanks to MAME for android, and this was right on my level. Sir, I doff my cap. Subbed.
For all the time I spend here, I so very rarely feel the need to leave a comment on most any video I happen across. However, with your impecable and entertaining delivery, and brilliant choice of games that is so very much inline with my own tastes, I had to take a few moments to thank and congratulate you for this great content. I will, for the first time ever, be ringing that bell for notifications! Well done, Sir!
Your content is great! Enjoyed the recommendations. Big games have become a problem for me, with work and raising children. I just got Ganryu 2 on the Xbox after this video. Cheers.
I know this video is 5 months old (this is my first time watching your videos) but I'm noticing more and more lately that the steam platform has some of the best games being developed. As I did not know about that slam ball game, or trail out for that matter. Thank you for showing these games to me, as I had no idea about the last two I mentioned.
Hello! I agree, there's some great stuff being developed on PC, it just suffers from a lack of marketing. I'm really pleased when people find some hidden gems - it's a big part of the reason I set the channel up. I'm in contact with a number of indie devs, and there's much more to come soon. In the meantime, thanks for watching!
Great video, really good selection of games, but they all lack one important thing.... scanlines (sry, i'm very old-school when i comes to arcade games) for the total-retro-arcade-immersion :) I hope there's more to come!
You make a good point there. A few of the games in this video - Deathwish Enforcers, Slam and Roll and Sengoku - have optional scanlines, and I do like that old school look myself, I must admit. I'll try to remember to include more about display options in future. Thanks for watching!
Never heard of Slam and Roll; instantly loved it! I recently discovered old-ass Japanese computer game called ラリパッパ野球団 (Raripappa Yakyu Dan) which could be described as a granddad of this one so I guess that's a nice coincidence.
Oh, bollocks! I knew I'd do that! I had 'Slam' and 'Smash' mixed up from another game. Hopefully everyone can still find the game okay, and apologies to the devs! I'll pin a comment to the top to help avoid any confusion. Thanks for letting me know!
Great video and you got yourself a new Sub 👍 as a now casual gamer in my 40s this is the stuff I like , wish someone would remake a Chase HQ or Desert Strike game or something close 🙁 I currently don't know of any.
Hey! Thank you so much, I appreciate it. I'd love to see someone do something great with the Chase HQ formula. There are a few mobile games that have been ported to console and PC along similar lines, but nothing I could wholeheartedly recommend at an inflated price. I'd LOVE to see a new Desert Strike. You can imagine how great the landscapes would look in 4K. One possible suggestion I could make for you here - if you're a PC or Xbox gamer - is Renegade Ops. It's more a twin-stick shooter, but it has those beautifully detailed, destructible landscapes, viewed from a top-down/isometric perspective. There's a variety of vehicles to choose from and you can team up with up to four players. It's been out for a good few years now, so you should find it pretty cheap.

Just a heads up. Xeno Crisis is hard in a pretty rage inducing way. It's damn near impossible to not occationally fall victim to the enemies that spawn from underneath.
It's very challenging, that's true - definitely have to watch out for those arcade-style random spawns! There is an easy mode, but you still have to bring your A-game to get all the way through.

Hello! Thanks for getting in touch, and I'm really pleased you've found some games you like. I'll definitely check out your game and thanks for the heads-up!
The only way I’ve found to do it is to have one long 100 hour game on the go over the course of a year. 30 mins here and there. Smaller quicker games as palate cleansers inbetween (Mario Odyssey is great for this). I completed RDR2 and Witcher 3 with this approach and I’m now working my way through Ghosts of Tsushima with the same approach
Yeah, I've taken a similar approach for a while. I'll have one 'story' game on the go, and several other platform/driving/sports/shooting games around that. That way I don't lose my thread with what's going on in the main game, and I can just relax and enjoy some variety when I don't have the time or inclination to focus on anything more complicated.
You're absolutely right - that Evercade system is building an impressive library of classic games, great for collectors. I still dig out my PSP from time to time, largely to play MotorStorm: Arctic Edge - that's a good arcade racer. Thanks for watching!
Just bought deathwish enforcers 80% off.bargain so thank u.also bought blazing chrome on the cheap as well.didnt like wreckfest as I had a hard time controlling the car.am.i doing it wrong
Some cars in Wreckfest, especially early on, can seem quite heavy or ungainly. But once you start tuning everything and unlock a few of the better vehicles it just becomes so much fun, especially online. I'd really recommend you stick with it for a little bit to see if things start to click. But congratulations on the bargains there! It's a good time of year to pick up a few games. Hello! Thanks for taking the time to comment, I appreciate it, and fair points all. You've also made some great recommendations there that I need to check out. I'd agree that a lot - if not all - arcade games have at least one difficulty spike that could threaten the life of your controller, and Xeno Crisis and Ganryu 2 are no exceptions. I must admit, I found myself going over and over one particular section in level four of the latter so many times, that I'd have been embarrassed to show anyone how badly I was doing, so it didn't make the cut, and I try not to show too much of later levels in the smaller games, for fear of spoiling too much.
