Actually he showed these traits but not all because we just met in an online game. We were game partners and after quests, we would spend quality time with each other. We would talk about life, interests and talents. He was so sweet and protective, we would exchange words like "I miss you" or "I love you" but I didn't bother because we just see each other as friends. One time I remember he joked twice, if I am ready, he would chase after me and it was alarming for me because usually girls chase him so it means he would make an effort. But I didn't want any other feelings more than friendship.
Until a girl came and he shared he likes her. They would see each other in game and all the traits he used to show me before moved to the girl he liked. I was kinda sad because he adjusted himself for the girl and he said he would reduce our closeness we had before. Now he has changed and I'm happy for him. Although it was too late I realised I have feelings for him. ^^

Unfortunately most school-age boys don’t yet have the emotional maturity to be real with any girls, so they try to play instead - whatever will get them laid - and quite often the more attractive they know they are, the more likely they’ll assume they’re entitled to having as many girls as they want 🤷🏻♀️
I know you can’t help crushing on him RN, but try to live your lives to the full with your real friends anyway, and be your kind selves without falling for his attempts at being a player - if he actually grows up while you’re still in school together, chances are that he’ll respect you enough to stop playing and be real with you because you never rewarded that juvenile behavior ☝️
I think these signs are very subjective and can vary from guy to guy since we are all different and the patterns might be slightly distinct. For example If the guy is too shy probably he is scared of making too much eye contact. Nowadays there is a lack of intentionality from a man to a woman which lead girls to be more “approachable” but I am not saying that a woman can do bold move, I don’t know if that came out wrong but what I am trying to say is that there’s a lack of Intentionality, pursuing and commitment.
