Chuck Billy has an awesome voice for metal. I love the range in his voice! This song is the one you hear it well! The dude can sing and growl with the best in metal. TESTAMENT Should be part of the Big 5
You should look up Stu Block. He's the lead singer for Iced Earth and he can do anything from death metal growls to Rob Halford screams. But chuck is the absolute best for thrash except for maybe Hetfield(in his early days.) MAYBE.
This is one the most genuinely intense (as opposed to a lot of bands that do the standard poses and things to say to look cool) fully and completely into what they're doing performances I've ever seen. This is what a pure love for metal looks like.
Chuck Billy is amazing, I love his low growl. His high pitched screams were pretty lame, glad he doesn't do them any more. Let's hear it for Eric Peterson, he doesn't get anywhere near the credit he deserves. Brilliant rhythm guitarist.
Testament is very good. I grew up with this music in the Bay Area with bands like Deathangel, Forbidden and what not... Was a great time, very good music.
First time I ever heard testament was Live at the Apocalyptic City in ‘93 on cassette in my Walkman. When disciples hit, I was like “that’s cool. They have two singers”. 😂
Metallica they were good at 80's begginig of the 90's after this period the became more and more commercial and lost their Thrash essence... but bands such as Testament, Exodus, Slayer, they carried out the flag of The Thrash Metal.
This is metal to me, man. I don't know how it got warped and twisted into the corny shit we have today, but this to me is the peak of its history. The golden era.
Vocals-Hetfield(1985-1990) Back vocals-Billy Lead trio-Friedman/Skolnick/Dime(he was thrash a while) Rhytm g's-Mustaine/Hetfield/Hanneman Bass duo-Ellefson/Greg C Drums-Lombardo/Vinnie Paul Triangle-Hammet
....really hope anyone's has the chance once in a lifetime to see them on stage....no video can makes you feel the adrenaline they're givin'... ! RULEZ ;)
I don't really think it would be much different then the way the rest of Metallica has gone, but you never know. What I can say for sure, is he would have evolved as a bass guitar player, and he would still be immortalized. And Jason was a fucking phenomenal bass player as well, much respect for him. Rob Trujillo is a good guitarist too. He played with Ozzy that was his best gig. He should leave Metallica they are stale and old now.
They obviously toured through NC and SC not long before this. I say this because Chuck is wearing a COC shirt and they are from Raleigh,NC ,and Greg is wearing a Myrtle Beach shirt and there is only one Myrtle Beach!
Ok i stand corrected. Everyone keeps saying that Testament is not touring anymore, BUT they are all WRONG!!! I checked out their web site on MYSPACE and they have a brand new album calle Formation of Damnation comming out on April 29th 2008. I will be attending their concert in Mokena, IL on May 3rd C YA THERE!!!
no crap!!! he does play like clif!!!! i saw cliff twice in 85 and he greg play almost identical. he could of been the ultimate basses when metallica was looking for one, but i don't think greg would just like to play melodies! look at his finger picking
Same here....the answer is simple. Metallica was first and came out with more commercial friendly hits......Most real metal fans realize Testament is as good or better that's all that matters
Because let's be honest they have why more awesome riffs and that's just a fact I'm mean come on if you want me to list them just look at all 5 of the first albums
Is anyone else getting a Steve Harris vibe from the bassist? He kinda acts and vaguely resembles him (if you look at him when his hair covers his face)
Testament is bad ass! Death Angel is a bad ass thrash metal band but I dont know if that would be in your top favorites, Seems to be a band that peoeple forget about.
if I was to put together a thrash metal super band, the line up would've been: Vocals - Chuck Billy, Lead G - Alex Skolnick, Rhythm G - Eric Peterson, Bass G - Greg Christian, Drums - Louie Clemente \m/ \m/

Jordan Kay Tom Araya is my favorite thrash metal singer! I love Jamez' 80s stuff and St. Anger forward! Plus Millie from Kreator and Joey from Anthrax
His Death growl is the best hands Down!
This is one the most genuinely intense (as opposed to a lot of bands that do the standard poses and things to say to look cool) fully and completely into what they're doing performances I've ever seen. This is what a pure love for metal looks like.
I was there. And everybody here in Italy still remember the festival
Lol i was 7, but fuck i bet it was awesome to see them. Especially in their prime. Remember it forever.
Imo the best metal festival in ITA history....for me for sure....fkn great...Pantera....Warrant...Megadeth....
i love that chuck can go from the upper register to the lower without hesitation. he pulls off that death growl omminously well.
Chucks vocals in this are fucking intense \m/

Chuck Billy is amazing, I love his low growl. His high pitched screams were pretty lame, glad he doesn't do them any more.
Let's hear it for Eric Peterson, he doesn't get anywhere near the credit he deserves. Brilliant rhythm guitarist.

Metallica they were good at 80's begginig of the 90's after this period the became more and more commercial and lost their Thrash essence... but bands such as Testament, Exodus, Slayer, they carried out the flag of The Thrash Metal.
There is no such thing as a bad Testament song. Saw them in a tiny club in Toronto... WE DESTROYED THE EFFING PLACE \m/

@Torgeytits
I agree about the Big 5, but the reason the Big 4 were chosen weren't any of those, they just had the highest record sales at the time.

I don't really think it would be much different then the way the rest of Metallica has gone, but you never know. Rob Trujillo is a good guitarist too. He played with Ozzy that was his best gig. He should leave Metallica they are stale and old now.
chuck's voice is nearly killing me... luv it ;)
most of testaments song are so heavily laced with gnarly accents its hard to get down, but once you do it feels so badass to play their songs
They obviously toured through NC and SC not long before this. I say this because Chuck is wearing a COC shirt and they are from Raleigh,NC ,and Greg is wearing a Myrtle Beach shirt and there is only one Myrtle Beach!
