- Emil and Nikken decided to create a dyno that i have never seen before with a cool toe hand match to break out of it.

I think it would be a lot more fun if these setting videos included clips at the end of people (at the right approximate skill level) trying each finished boulder
That's a really good suggestion. I like the videos as they are but that's be a nice addition. Might be hard to coordinate thought as setting usually happens during day when people aren't around etc
I think Emil and Nikken should set a project for Eric
More setting please, also a video of Fredrik and Samuel doing that boulder problem.

Great vid Eric. Emil has become a natural in front of the camera. Yes please get Samuel and Fredrik in for a another vid. It was fun watching Nikken fossicking around in the background setting his own routes.

Funny story...in my neck of the woods, no one sold Tenayas or the wide model of any Butora; yet, we were going to CO (RMNP) in a few weeks time, so I stopped by some shops out there. The Butora was still a little narrow for me, but the Tenaya Oasi were able to really fit nice (they didn't have the Mundaka or Iati at the time--would've loved to have tried on the Mundaka).
Tenaya makes some great shoes, and work well for folks with wide feet.
Damn good video, would be nice to have more setting/climbing the root videos !
I really enjoy the setting content! I started climbing about a month ago and these help so much with reading routes. I would love to see more!
the grey looks like a 7A. And i would have guessed 7c+ for the yellow but we don't see the whole picture very well, but that two dyno move sequence looks really hard so may be thats why you said 8A+. Thank you for the vid, very instructive

I always love videos where I get to see the route setters plan, construct, and try out their routes. Maybe I'll get certified one day and start working part time as a route setter at my local gym! Thanks for the video, Eric!
I want to see a mega project for Nikken. Something like that purple 8a+ that he took at least 4 sessions to complete. Still my favorite video that you ever put up.

@@laci3989 yeah I would definitely say more in the 7B than 7a range.
o_o i was thinking around 6c/6c+... I mean you are jumping to a jug with a semi decent bleaustone hold to slow you down. That being said, it is a dyno which is always difficult to grade since for some people it would probably feel super easy and for others it may feel impossible. So yea, I could totally wrong but looking at it it looks 6cish

I think the first boulder is a 7a+ maybe?
In my gym the first boulder is rated around 6c maybe 7a, the second would be a around 7b/7c, but I think my gym is quite sandbagged at the higher grades (we never have anything higher than 7c). And I went to klättercentret and the 6b+ there felt like 5+ in my own gym, so yea grades differ from gym to gym...
