Just picked one of these up and the image is much better than my Dell 27" 1440P 165hz IPS monitor. This monitor is very sharp and I like the colours, uniformity and contrast. The stand is good too but I mount mine on a monitor arm. Also glad it has a power supply built in to the monitor instead of one of those annoying external power bricks. Menu buttons are fiddly but hopefully set it once and be done with it but you can change the settings with the i-Menu app. IO is very limited and the red accent at the bottom of the screen is not too bad. I live in Northern Europe and availability is not too bad here.
@@TotallydubbedHD Thanks to you for recommending. Also picked up the 1080P AOC 24G2/SU model (again recommended by you) and this was an excellent monitor too but ended up keeping the Q model instead as 1440P @ 23.8” was more unique and sharper. Other manufacturers should take note.
Which Monitor should I pick? Either the new aoc monitor which you reviewed or the Lg 27GP850p, Msi mag274qrf-qd, or the new Hp monitors (Omen 27q and omen 27qs). The msi monitor costs 100 euros more the the lg and hp omen qs monitor. Thanks
Hello, im interested how response times and ghosting scale with slower refresh rates. My pc wont be able to get more than 100 fps on more demanding games, so response times at 60hz do matter. If possible, at weak or medium overdrive.
Not possible. Plus, not sure why you'd run the monitor at that refresh rate or resolution, if you can't output 1440p properly. Look at a 1080p monitor instead.

@@TotallydubbedHD like it I love it mate, my old monitor is a dell S2721DGFA 27 Inch QHD (2560x1440) Gaming Monitor, 165Hz, IPS and this little bad boy is smashing it, it's not night and day but it's definitely sharper, the colours are better, more realistic and the shadows pop more where they should in game, which makes you notice the scene where there is a bright light or ray of shine for example but on the dell I don't notice it as much, I've calibrated and messed about with the dell as much as I could but overall the picture quality and colours sre better than the dell, the IPS glow is alot more noticeable on my dell which makes the darker scenes and even the menu better looking on this new monitor. Thanks for your extensive review on this monitor, was very useful! Also I can add that if you don't like the OSD control buttons (as many would do) , there is actually a Windows compatible software called "I-Menu" from AOC that allows one to control the monitor settings with your mouse, works all right. Bought it for 239 euro in italy from amazon a month ago, quite pleased with it. At such price maybe one could find a second hand 27" with these specs, yet I need a 24". Hi, i have a question. Is 1440p overall an advantageous for sweating in games (for example does it make easier to spot enemies?) or it is just for convenience? If i want solely sweat, would you recommend me this 1440p 165HZ or 1080 240HZ? I am asking since i never had 1440p yet and now after watching this review i cant decide between this one or some 240hz like AOC 24G2ZU (or maybe better one if you can recommend another of your reviews for up to 400$?).
If you're a hardcore competitive gamer, I would suggest the highest refresh rate possible. However, 1440p will make things look clearer and will just look a lot better. If that's of importance to you is a different question. Do remember that GPU power is also important in knowing what you can actually output (FPS wise at XYZ resolution)
I'm looking for a 24" for office work (lots of white text on black background) and mostly single player RPGs games. What would you recommend? I would be using it with low brightness and text clarity would be important. This one and the Titan Army P2510S look good.

My question is: if you configurate HDMI 1 for example for gaming, can you have HDMI 2 with an "office" settings for work? Will it record a profile for each HDMI? In case it does not, it is easy to change from one setting to another? Thanks
Right now I have an Asus ROG XG249CM 23.8" 270hz 1080P monitor and also have the 23.8" AOC Q24G2 1440P monitor. Reading text within Windows is a noticeable improvement over 1080P but in gaming, the AOC is sharper but 1080P gaming on the same size screen is not bad either but not quite as good. Its not like gaming on a larger 25" or 27" 1080P monitor which will be very soft.

I'm waiting for a 23.8" 1440p 240Hz+ OLED to replace my 27" 144Hz VA monitor!
I highly doubt that'll come, but I guess you never know!
Glad you're enjoying it and thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I personally only need 165hz and edit videos. I also like a high contrast ratio for ips standards. The Lg costs as much as the hp omen 27qs and the aoc costs as much as the aoc monitor. The msi monitor costs 100 euros more the the lg and hp omen qs monitor. Thanks
Not tried the others, but this is unique

My pc wont be able to get more than 100 fps on more demanding games, so response times at 60hz do matter. If possible, at weak or medium overdrive.
Not possible. Plus, not sure why you'd run the monitor at that refresh rate or resolution, if you can't output 1440p properly. Look at a 1080p monitor instead.

What do you recommend for a console?

If you're a hardcore competitive gamer, I would suggest the highest refresh rate possible. However, 1440p will make things look clearer and will just look a lot better.
