    It’s very strange how 144 or 180 isn’t as much of a difference to 240 yet 60 to 100 is a 40 fps difference, 144 to 240 is 96 numbers, and 180 to 240 is 50. Shouldn't technically 144 to 240 show the biggest difference to 240?

    i have watched a lot of your videos, but i have not found the right monitor for me. I have the alienware aw2521HFA 240hz monitor. I dont like the monitor bec of its ghosting at fastest input delay. What monitor woud you recommend for 1080p 240hz and no ghosting or motion blur? thx.

    Nice vídeo!
    Have a question. For competitive gaming the monitor frequency is always more important than response time/input lag?
    I don't understand very well, like in my case, using ViewSonic xg2431 with BFI off resulting in lower inputlag and the monitor looks better/more smooth. Obviously when BFI is on i have better visuals but isn't smooth like BFI off.

    • @TotallydubbedHD
      @TotallydubbedHD  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks!
      Good question: I'd argue to say that input lag + response time is more important than the refresh rate (above 144hz). Ie, I'd recommend a low input lag + fantastic response time 144hz, rather than a slower/bad input lag 240hz+ monitor. As per this video + my frame-by-frame analysis in my older video.
      As for BFI, that's less to do with smoothness but rather motion clarity. As per my VS review, I suggest having PureXP disabled for that reason, but understand it's one of the key selling points of the monitor. Tricky one, but ultimately is why I don't recommend the VS to comp gamers.

    • @Slixbrah
      @Slixbrah ปีที่แล้ว

      Black frame insertion you need vsync ON for it to look smooth or it will look stuttery, but that introduces input lag, or have a super high frame rate 2-3 times refresh rate, something along those lines, I can't remember

    • @unluc1d
      @unluc1d ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Slixbrah that's strange, because when I turn BFI off my inputlag is lower, if I active BFI and Vsync will increase the inputlag, right?

    I mainly play CS2 and also have about 2.5k game hours on CS(in the same boat as you). I am a competitive player but do not wish to go pro or play tournaments. Here is my situation: I am planning to buy a new pc and have shortlisted 2 PCs with rtx 4070 and 4070 super. 4070 is 200$ cheaper than the 4070super and will push 195fps at 1440p in cs2. With 4070 super I'm assuming it would easily push 240fps on cs2. The monitors i have in mind are the LG Ultragear 27'' 2k 240hz and 165 hz ($100 difference). My question to you: is it worth it to get 4070 Super with 240hz over 4070 with 165hz. The difference between the 2 setups would be $300. Is it really worth $300 to just get extra fps from 165 to 240?
    NOTE: I'm sorry for the big question but would really appreciate your help putting this debate in my head to bed. (been losing too much sleep thinking about this lol! Thanks in advance.) Your decision will be my final decision (no pressure haha)

      Both GPUs will likely push out over 240hz at 1440p (depending on your settings) on CS2 - I can't suggest or comment about the monitor but would look at my best monitor roundup on my channel.
      And yes, I would suggest going for a higher refresh rate monitor, as per the video.

    What shock me more than u being able to tell the difference between 240hz and 300hz as there are people who can tell between 144hz and 165hz and knowing they are pretty much equilvant, I was surprised you where able to tell the difference between 144hz and 240hz, those who can tell between 144hz and 165hz tell alone 240hz vs 300hz than the difference from 144hz and 240hz should be a day and night difference, people who can tell the difference from 144hz to 165hz or 240hz vs 300hz could tell the difference between any refresh rate and if you could tell the difference from 270hz to 300hz where there is partially no difference your eyes are ridiculously amazing, even the most competitive winning level tornoment games yes they can tell between 144hz and 165hz but even they have to put mints amount of concentration when comparing these 2, most people can't even tell the difference from 144hz to 300hz, and we know the jump from 240hz to 300hz is ridiculously negligible, what gets me if how you didn't get guess 144hz vs 240hz right. To me, it's like saying you can't tell the difference when jumping from 60hz to 144hz, but you can tell from 144hz to 165hz. Okay the difference from 60 to 144 is bigger but difference from 144hz to 240hz its not day and night it's very subtle let alone 144hz vs 300hz even but compared to 240hz vs 300hz 144hz to 240hz is 4× bigger jump same could be said about 60hz vs 144hz compared to 144hz vs 180 or 240hz.

      @TotallydubbedHD no what surprises me you not being able to tell the difference between 144hz and 240hz, if you can tell the difference from 240hz to 300hz which is a 0.8333ms difference under 1ms while 144hz to 240hz very minimal but it's a 2.777ms difference which is day and night compared to 0.833ms, and the thing is once you get to highers hz 0.8333ms is indistinguishable, I know there are outliers out there who could tell the difference between 240hz and 300hz even the most competitors csgo player struggle to see the difference between 120hz vs 144hz = 240hz vs 360hz but let alone everyone sees difference differently what gets me is how you couldn't tell between 144hz and 240hz.
