Batman: Arkham Asylum was such a competant game that it more or less peaked with Arkham Asylum then had little room for improvement in the sequels, but even a game like this still has its sins, let's count them.

If I remember correctly Bane actually did break Batman’s back. I remember reading banes profile in Arkham city and if I remember it did say he did break his back.

Well for one thing, and I can't speak for everyone, I prefer to keep my bones on the inside.
I never understood how the procedure turned all the inmates and Titan users back to normal, I mean it's not like their bodies were heavily mangled from the inside and deformed to the point of growing bones out of the skin, you simply cannot go back to your regular human body after that, they should've all died or wind up like the joker.

This game series is legendary and should be praised and remembered for being one of the greatest superhero video game series ever made.
Asylum and City won several awards for a reason, even in late 2022 these games still are second to none when we're talking about superhero games.

U know that arkham asylum was RENOVATED to house the most dangerous,insane villains in the world. Maybe electric chair execution was used before the renovation and it was never removed. Hence why its powerful enough to kill, because it was originally meant too.

The truth is Batman could not function -- that is, he would have psychotic or catatatonic depression -- if he were 30-ish and experiencing this day -- this trauma -- as a traumatic event.
Rumination -- continually thinking of a traumatic event -- in part leads to, and is a diagnostically relevant feature of depression.
My grandmother died last year. Will the simple fact of it ever be pleasant? No.
Batman's origin story is told like this: The Bat rises from a fearful boy finding courage.
I do not know how one would portray what must be the truth: Batman rises when Bruce has put that horrible day into a useful context.
Batman would rise when Bruce thought and belived and felt this way about his parents' death: My parents loved me. I loved them. I do not honor them by making their memory -- by making them -- a source of endless sorrow. Because I love them, I will honor them by living my life as (this is usually for non-Batmans) a person they would be proud of. They wanted me to be happy, so I must find happiness.
My parents cannot live on in me until I live for them. When I think of them, I think of the moment they died. The most important thing they did for me was not this; I recall them only as dying, and in doing so I have forgotten their lives.
I had them for 10-ish years, alive and happy. And I cannot live my life -- certainly not as they would want -- until I focus on every day with them before the one I have not been able to escape.
...I'll end it here, because I have many ways to come at this, but it's how one treats someone and I treat myself.
*Grief is not only normal, but necessary. And Bruce experienced a traumatic event -- he would develop PTSD, and this is prevented by the unwavering affection and attention of Alfred (played by Michael Cane; who else would do?).
So his is an extraordinary case that elucidates universal experience.
This is a simplification, but a decent outline of recontextualization. And childhood trauma of any kind or duration is has nothing at all in common with an adult dealing with the natural death of his grandmother. I wanted to get back to that because it never belonged here.
Based on his videos, and to his credit, I think this fairly approximates Dartigan's sentence.
Finally, you get Batman -- a person forever assaulting people for his parents -- when recontextualization is -- OK, speaking just of Batman:
Batman has Borderline Personality Disorder. He deals with his PTSD by obsessively and continually thinking about hurting people physically, and always needs new and better gadgets to harm people to think about anything but what he feels. And the only time he does not have to guard against intrusive, painful thoughts is when he is harming others.
And it is the only time he is *not* angry.
Anger, hate -- any negative emotion for others does nothing to the person one feels those things for. Because they don't feel them, nor likely think about the person at all. Hating only makes you hateful. Anger only makes you an asshole.
If you hate someone, you're doing your enemy's job for them.
Batman is not angry or sad or even aware of himself in moments of confrontation. He is in the stupidly-termed flow state. He is doing what he loves and doing it with perfect attention, absent emotion, absent ego, and he cannot be stopped because he actually *is* superhuman in this state. He could be shot and would not feel it until something or someone or blood loss brought him into awareness. And I mean shot without armor anwhere but the head any number of times, with awareness returning dependent on blood loss.
He would wake up when he is going to die.
...Huh. That went sideways. But true.
For a game released in 2009, this still looks pretty good. Gotta play it again.

I wish we could have an Adam West Batman game. Take his audio clips from the actual series and have Burt Ward be the actual narrator. He's the *real* best Batman since he carries everything he needs with him or at the batcave (e. g. Bulletproof shoe soles, shark spray in the bat-copter, etc.). They should even have playable sections of both 1960s Robin and Batgirl.

According to the character bios, Bane broke Batman's back "a few years ago." So that did happen in the Arkham universe.

The post credit cutscene had three endings with either Croc, Scarecrow, or Bane. In all three instances, only Bane has a reason to keep the Titan crate when the second game arrived.
Imagine if Killer Croc used it on himself or Scarecrow modified it to make fear toxin/Titan.
But no. It just shows that the only ending that made sense was Bane.

Why would the chair be able to use enough power to kill a man?
Am I the only one who noticed that the guard and the doctor at the beginning of the game are shown as deceased when in detective mode after Joker escapes? That would mean the guard was choked to death the very instant the doctor uncuffed the Joker, and the doctor died from a single kick to the chest. If this isn’t the most looked over sin in the whole game I don’t know what is.

Bane is a cool character, they just usually portray him as a dumbass instead of a pretty smart guy. He isn’t a brute, he is a great technician and strategist.
The last sin was a bit unfair. The ending can have one of 3 (I think) villains grabbing the box at the end. Scarecrow, Croc, or Bane.

I disagree on the sin with the electric chair. Specifically because the Asylum was built and operated in an era which saw the rise of electroshock therapies. while the chairs used in that were not exactly the same, it is an issue which does not really make much of a difference.
Also, an audio log explained that Amadeus Arkham went insane and used them to murder inmates

Gamer Sin #1: Playing games out of order starting in order Arkham City, Arkham Knight, Arkham Origins, and then Arkham Asylum.
They were even made by different directives and all. Arkham Asylum: Rocksteady, Paul Dini, Daniel Bailie, and Nathan Burlow. Arkham Origins: WB Games Montreal, Dooma Wendschuh, Ryan Galletta, Corey May, Ben Mattes. None of the original people in charge of Asylum were for Origins.
Now, this is the real timeline of the Arkham Series.

Man half of these sins can be explained with common sense. Why is the batcave so close to croc’s lair? Because the sewers encompass the entire island and the only place they don’t is where the batcave can be. Why did dr young make the titan for joker? Because she didn’t know it was joker, you established in the earlier sin that he tricked her with the name Jack White. Why did Batman make a device that could locate female pheromones? Because he might need it in case Ivy escaped. What happened to the common sense in these sins. It’s not like you have 6 writers like cinemasins

Well, that's a valid point, arkham guards and staff are like shopping mall guards in terms of skill, you'd expect that at least they would carry tasers or handguns with full authorization to kill if a deranged inmate is going to undoubtedly kill someone, it's called self defense.
I like to think the reason Joker didn’t use Jason in-universe is because he was building his militia. Remember, he was in South America at this point.

Sin: The fact that they thought that having a Botanical Garden was a good idea considering that one of the inmates has the ability to control all plants, having it be there is just giving her a bigger arsenal, and yes, although Poison Ivy controls all plant life not just plants in a botanical garden, if the garden was removed her powers wouldn't be as effective.

The sin about Batman having a record of Ivy’s pheromones isn’t really a sin. It would be smart to keep a record of it to make it easier to track her or even have a cure. The better sin would be the cherry picking Batman does when he prepares for things. He showed up to the asylum underprepared but thought about being prepared to face/track down Ivy.
Also, I think Scarecrow was threatening to use the sewers to spread his gas across Gotham. Not sure how the gas would react to liquids though.
Y'know what would have been great to bring back for this game? Almost all of the original cast of the series. Rocksteady could've brought back Bob Hastings for Comissioner Gordon, Melissa Gilbert or even Tara Charendorf for Oracle, Diane Pershing for Poison Ivy, Aron Kincaid as Killer Croc
Sometimes it isn't just a matter of money, it's also very possible that they all had their own projects already going or or simply weren't interested anymore.
I love your channel and this video, but I have a few counterpoints to make. This will be updated as I watch the video:
• Bane’s blood, like Joker’s blood in City, likely retains some of the Venom and Titan prototype formula, meaning it would need to be drained, especially after he used the entire tank at the end of Origins
• Batman saying “This time I break you” could be referring to how Batman was nearly broken after Alfred was almost killed in Origins. Alfred’s death would have definitely broken Batman as shown in numerous Batman stories
• Dr. Young likely hid the notes because Arkham scientists were trying to also use Titan for medical reason, and if that research was destroyed that would be years of research gone.
• Jason Todd actually escapes Arkham during the events of the game, so Joker couldn’t use him for anything. If I remember correctly, this is explained in Arkham Knight: Genesis
• Scarecrow doesn’t realize that Batman has much stronger willpower than most, and thinks he’s just a regular guy with a fear of something, so he’s very surprised when Batman doesn’t go insane like literally everyone else. He increases the dose each time, and much like a regular doctor, you’d be very surprised if a patient was perfectly fine after 10 normal doses of something.
• Batman has always been able to make cures for anything because comic books. Your point about him not doing good for others though is sound
• Even though Titan patients turn back to normal, their blood is permanently toxic after the fact, or at least Joker’s blood is. Also, the only experience Batman has with it prior to this is Bane with the prototype Titan in Origins, and he lost almost all his memory and all of his intellect by using it, so if Batman suffered the same effects he’d be screwed

My point is that Batman doesn’t have any knowledge of what the Titan will do to him if he doesn’t use the cure on himself. He has absolutely no idea what it will do to him, and the only idea he has of what it will do to him is from Origins Bane and the Titan thugs, and they lose their minds (Bane being practically permanent, and the thugs being temporary). His biggest fear is that he will turn into the same villains he fights, as examples not only in the Arkham series but in comics and shows. He’s more worried about what will happen to him or what he would do with the Titan in his system than he is about fighting Titan Joker

Scarecrow new batman's plans because he's scarecrow. Every time the writers have a chance to make scarecrow an awesome villain, they only do a half ass job. You get this feeling that scarecrow is a dark reflection of Batman. To bad the writers keep making joker the center of Batman unviers.
If you look at Spider-Man you could have a fan agurment over who's spider man greatest villain is. Green goblin or venom.
4:12 technically this is the first time and aside from all the praise Arkham asylum has, the bosses have the same weakness (besides ivy), the henchmen only come in 3-4 varieties, the slow walking at the very beginning is the most annoying thing on repeat playthroughs, and the combat is not as smooth after experiencing the later games.
Yeah, people complain about the final boss, but when I was a kid i thought it was awesome and who could forget the cool final explosive punch to titan joker’s face?

And there are 3 scarecrow References in Arkham city, 1 is his mask (which is a riddle so it’s not exactly hidden), 2 is an secret abandoned storage room on a boat near the joker’s territory containing caged roaches and a screaming test subject, and the third Easter egg is using the cryptographic sequencer and piecing together a secret message from a Cesar cypher saying “Fear is Coming”.
So you may not have done enough research but crane’s been planning his revenge for awhile.

Scarecrow doesn’t wear his regular outfit, it’s a handmade costume he made out of his unmade uniform. The same applies to all the other villains in the game

@@bluskamqko Uh...electroshock therapy is NEVER performed in chairs. The whole purpose of the practice is to induce small controlled seizures in the recipient. Which is why they are always shown to be strapped down to a bed, it's much easier to restrain and keep safe a convulsing person when all of their limbs are layed out and on the same level.

They really were running low on ideas by Arkham Knight. There is a plant also growing under Arkham that neutralizes Scarecrows gas as well as one under the prison to neutralize the TITAN serum.
@Dartigan To answer about the eletrical chair...the patient in asylum can get electric therapy in order to appease them. It can help the patient to get out of psychosis or nevrosis. But it is accepted only if the patient agreed

@Pitbull I talk to Dartigan during his Twitch streams. He has stated that some of the errors are by mistake and some are intentional

How so? That's how I've always heard Bruja pronounced. Tatascore's delivery is practically devoid of a proper hispanic accent in favor of sounding like a roided monster but that doesn't mean he's pronouncing it wrong.
@@tjknight what I mean is that Bane grew up in a prison in a Latin American country, his mother tounge is spanish, so it doesn't make sense to me why he pronounces "bruja" like an american who can't pronounce the hard "r" of spanish (because it's not a sound that exists in english)

Sin #5 should be the fact that the weapon detection scanner only detected Batman 's unlimited batarangs but Sin #13 would be that if Batman did bring have the batclaw on him at that time, he could have fired it to pull Joker right to him and knock him out to end the game's purpose. But removing that Sin because its a good thing he didn't have it otherwise it wouldn't have been the good game we got in 2009

At end of the game where he talks with gordon he is holding his right arm like its fractured or sth.But when he grapples up to batwing you can see from the shadow that he is holding the grappler with his right arm.
He doesn't bother to use gadgets to tie up joker. The police don't bother to avoid letting joker tell his goons about this plan.
No wander people break out of Arkham Asylum so often... the doctors there are way to easy to manipulate, the structure and random stuff in there is stupid, the security it horrible, and it really makes me think no one there knows what they’re doing
