Batman Arkham Origins is the Arkham game Warner Brothers hides in the attic, existing outside of the main trilogy where all the fun is had. Had it been the actually first game instead of after thought prequel it might have been pretty good, as it is it's a mostly recycled game cobbled together from bits and pieces from Arkham City. You're better off playing that game then pretending Origins doesn't exist.

At the end of their battle Batman says “you just ran out of time” this was something he said earlier in the game as Bruce Wayne. If you look closely you can see bane tilt his head a little bit indicating he put two and two together. That’s how he figured out Bruce Wayne was Batman....at least in this game lmao

Batman's a super hero mostly because he's paired with Alfred, who has a very specific and extremely powerful super power. Bruce's money & martial arts training certainly helps, but Alfred's super power is always knowing exactly what to pack in Batman's belt (or vehicles) every time he goes out. I'm sure that whenever Batman goes out and something uncommon is in his belt, he's like "Huh, I guess this is going to become an interesting night..."
That's bullsh*t though. It's one thing for Alfred to help Wayne look at things differently or approach a situation with a different perspective but to just know off hand packing his belt with what he needs..... That's horrible writing. The problem is they want this tense situation where you're poisoned ajd there's this rave against the clock and then they write around that. But most times it makes no sense or makes for unbelievable outcomes. The reality is as the worlds greatest detective and unlimited resources wayne should have the antivenom on hand. Bane or Scarecrow's concoctions should be things he's encountered already and reversed engineered. However you'd never get the oh my god I've been poisoned it's a race against the clock to get the antidote trope. That type of writing is so tired and played out.

I've played the DC tabletop game, and they handled this super power by allowing players to put points into having gadgets that are unspecified until used, at which point the player decides what it always was (and can then use that item as much as they want to). The points you put in are how many of these you have between visits to your home base (like the Bat-Cave), at which point it resets. A player picking this ability when making their character can really sap a lot out of a game.
@@jfelton3583 the funny thing is that even if Alfred put antidote in his belt, how would he know exactly what poison she would use? Literally all he could do is guess, honestly I'd put in antidote to Copperhead snake poison. But even if that worked that's kinda even worse because it means that Copperhead basically announces what poison she uses.

Ratcatcher is actually in the Arkham games, though only in small cameos like his equipment. So he does exist, though I guess no one wanted to use him in the games.

I'm surprised no sin off for the Joker during his psych eval. He juggles pondering about Batman and manipulating Harley and it's honestly a joy to watch (for me at least).

Alright, Ill give you Firefly, Copperhead, Shiva and Electrocutioner. But Deadshot and Killer Croc are leagues more recognizable, Bane is pretty much one of Batman’s main villains and Deathstroke is one of the main villains of DC.
Firefly and Shiva are not bottom of the barrel, especially not Shiva.
Achidi Kisob I agree and disagree firefly is at best a c lister in terms of threat but is rather well known but shiva is the exact opposite an s tier opponent but rather unknown so depends on what metrics to rate characters you use

Maybe I'm weird but this was actually one of the games in the series that I enjoyed the most, I never understood all the hate, honestly.

Banes heart rate stopped before he took it off . Once his heart stopped It deactivated the bomb. Then batman tore it off when he resuscitated him

no the Joker makes it LOOK like he's making it up but really it's well thought out. he planned a bank robbery where his crew would kill eachother off until only he and the driver would be left then killed the driver before slipping into a convoy of other buses to hide his escape, he also set a trap for Batman at the attack on the Mayor that without plot armour would have killed Batman, The Joker is just as smart as Bruce Wayne but his plans fail because he's not trying to win he's just having a laugh, like Alfred said "some men just want to watch the world burn" and he does as long as he enjoys himself he couldn't care less if he succeeded or not
The Dark Knight isn't the best example of Joker being a guy just making it up as he goes along. He had to know the reactions of Batman, Harvey, Jim and the Mafia for his plan to work. Film Theory made two videos on him. You should really see them because you can tell that the Joker knew exactly what he was doing.

Not really, Joker is notorious for going through with his plans. I actually don't really think a lot of his plans failed as he usually likes to get captured and also just does things to send a point. Also, knowing Batman's identity is one of the things Joker is known for not wanting. That would ruin his fun and be boring according to him.

I think he was giving them a sin for the entire point, for the high expectations and hurdles they had to jump through to make this game. Like “it can’t be very fun to make a game like this” is the sin and he explains why. It led to something good but that’s gotta still be stressful on some level.

As much as I love this game, the biggest sin is that it basically forgets what its plot was originally about roughly 2/3 of the way through. The game is set up to be about various villains trying to kill Batman, but after Batman captures Joker that all becomes side mission stuff and then becomes about Batman stopping a riot at Arkham. Still, the scene where Batman finds Alfred beaten half to death is worth the price of admission.
Batman never goes to Arkham in this game and if you mean Blackgate he only goes there in the first and last mission of the game everything after Batman captures Joker is spent taking on Bane and Firefly so not sure what you mean

I think they said in the dlc that some of batman's weapons like the glue grenade were destroyed after the story ended.

At 12:44 In the DLC, it was explained that the glue grenades were extremely unstable and deteriorated hours after being made. Also, Arkham City, it was freeze who designed the cyro-grenades. From now on, I am the nitpick master!
12:56 it's explained in Cold Cold Heart that the substance used to make the glue dissolved not too long after the events of Arkham Origins.

Another mistake is in his very last sin, about the Suicide Squad bait having yet to be taken: the animated movie "Batman: Assault on Arkham" was the very thing this post-credit scene was hyping. And it was pretty good (the other animated SS movie, "Hell to Pay" was also fine).
He also sinned the fact that we never see Black Mask again, but we do. There is a side missin in which we have to take him out and the mean we remained loyal to him, plus the stashs of drugs Sionis still had hidden around the city.

Idc, this game is fun and crazy underrated. Easily the best boss fights in the whole series. Lmfao
From a gameplay perspective, it was a great game. But the plot was so weak.
@@HeadsUpTV i kinda disagree, while it was no arkham city the plot did show the limits of what batman would go to and gave a much more interesting version of bane. Lets be honest, bane was just a hunk of muscle with an accent in AA and AC. While joker was just a villain in the other arkham games, in this one we sew into his psychology and how he got so obsessive over batman.
But i will say that the gameplay was very weak, you dont know how many times i got hit with a invisible bat....
Nah, the graphics are shitty and the story's timeline is messed up and the Joker looks weird even though it's less than ten years before Asylum. Bruce's face looks stupid and Batman's wearing a technologically advanced armored suit despite Asylum having him wear the fabric one. Underrated my ass.

The joker looks like joker in this continuity he just comes out of nowhere we dont see hes origin story of exactly how he was created so it makes sense that he doesnt just look like a normal dude while already calling himself the joker. For what i remember it takes place 5 years before asylum not 10 bruce's face actually looks wierd in the first 2 arkham games as its way too thin. Ill give you the advanced tech and gadgets yes thats kind of a continuity error. From a point of view youre just nitpicking. The game wasnt revolutionary like the first 2 by any means but it wasnt that bad yet it got a lot of hate at first which does in fact make it underrated. But you can hate whatever you want. To each their own i guess.

Yeah, but at the same time I loved that "It's not a phase mom" type of joke, it was so fitting with Alfred's description of young Bruce
May not have been the best Arkham game but I personally liked it as it had some decent boss fights. Deathstoke fight was amazing. But I was disappointed you get 1 fight with him and that's the end of his short story in Arkham origins
If you remember at the start of the game, Bruce Wayne says to Vickie Vale: "You just ran out of time. Batman says to Bane on the rooftop when the police came:"You just ran out of time." So Bane only figures out Batman's identity on the rooftop.
That is probably one of the most bs ways of finding someone's secret identity. You wouldn't figure that maybe only a billionaire could afford a Batwing and a Batsuit with Bat Gadgets or that he sounds like Bruce Wayne. He figured it out because of something he said on the news.

Bane discovers who Batman was by comparing him saying you just ran out of time on the news and in a boss fight
So I played the Arkham series in the order of:
•Origins.
•Knight.
•City.
•Asylum.
I still love the series and am looking forward to the next one, even though I know that they have their faults of course.

@@hunnykun101 they won't. knight was horrible. The problem with a lot of these developers is they don't know how to write good stories. Asylums gameplay was meh but the story was probably the best. Arkham City was the most fun but thr story is meh.... There needs to be a story on Asylums level with City's gameplay.... My god i wish. It'll never happen

Nobody gonna talk about how Dartigan’s concern for Bruce Wayne being the patient zero for worldending plagues brought on by bats is so ahead of it’s time.
But also in Arkham Asylum Batman created a cure for Titan in minutes and didn't even test it and it worked, that was just in a Backup Batcave as well. Who knows how many cancers he's cured in the main Batcave.

Sin 19: Joker!Black Mask could've simply told the assassins that he faked his death.
Sin 21: Barbara and Batman DO work together in the game, after she hacks into his comms. Granted, it's in a side mission.
Sin 24: He could've used the corpse's biometrics.
Sin 39: It's obvious that Joker was just shitposting because he's, yknow, Joker. He couldn't even keep from laughing during it.
Sin 40: Not when he's pointing a gun at his head.
Sin 41: The Royal Hotel is rigged with detonators, so Bane and Firefly know Joker is a legitimate threat to them. Plus, neither Bane nor Firefly cares about Joker's contract and want to kill Batman for personal reasons.
Sin 51: Bane sees Batman as the spiritual embodiment of his childhood nightmares, so killing him is his life mission.
Sin 81: That's the point.
Sin 83: That's not the final boss fight. There's two more fights after that one.
Sin 85: Gordon isn't abiding by his moral compass, he's abiding by the law. His job is to arrest Joker, which requires him being alive.
Sin 92: The brain damage of TN-1 was permanent.

4:03 Super hero worlds in general are usually a decade or more infront of us technology wise in certain areas. Look at BTAS, which has plasma rifles, or the incredibles 2, which has a whole assortment of modern technologies in the 60s.
I never understood the timeline of The Incredibles. The prologue part of the first movie is clearly set in the 1950's, yet the rest of the movie, as well as the sequel, appear to be in modern times, yet Mr. Incredible is somehow only middle-aged and has ten year old kids. Does that make ANY sense at all?
I enjoyed Arkham Origins......apart from the bad frame rate and occassional glitches. The game was pretty good. Just wish Arkham games would stop having empty streets.
Yeah but what is Batman really going to do with civilians? High five them like Spider-Man? He already saves the ones who are being directly threatened. I don't see the need to waste processing power on hundreds of npcs who you can't really interact with.

Knight did have some pretty bad bosses, but I still think Asylum's Titan Joker is the worst. At least Knight's bosses try to do something different like Tank Stealth. Sure, Tank Steal is awful, but it tried something different and I respect that for taking chances and doing something new with the Batmobile. Titan Joker is just beating up thugs for a minute, then Quickfire Batclaw. Nothing new.

It really does, tho. The suit in the 2 previous games was way too cartoony; in Origins it looked like actual body armor. Joker's redesign was much more appealing as well.

It would make sense for this joker to be a little choppy tbh. He's new to this. The joker shouldn't be as good as he is in the rest of the series IMO. He's younger and less refined. And it would make sense for him to be the same as Batman. Batman isn't as good at his job yet since he's still new. They're "two threads in the same stitch" as Telltale puts it. Their developments into who they are should be parallels. So I think Troy's Joker should be different.

In my view, there is no WRONG with Batman: Arkham Origins.
At first I had my doubt's, but the Joker is what made the game worth it. The scenes with the Joker at the end are my favourites scenes in the game.

I disagree with *#2* . City had the best reason for having only criminals, but Origin's reason is better than Knight imo. A deadly blizzard makes sense to have residents stay inside while Scarecrow just letting them flee didn't.
Especially if the Arkham Knight wanted to mess with Batman, he should have been using his biggest crutch of protecting the innocent against him rather than making a city without risk of it.

You know, the comic book that single handedly redefined the character of the Joker and served as the primary inspiration of countless subsequent iterations of the character and now us considered by most fans to be his definitive origin?! I also can't believe ripped off the idea that batman dresses as a bat from Detective Comics #27. Ugh, such lazy writing.

12:53 Well, the wondering is gone if you played through Cold, Cold Heart the DLC. Batman explained that his glue formula turned to dust after a day, so it just wasn't all that useful in the long run--or worth the money to constantly replenish, I guess.
Now, this explanation isn't that great IMO because Batman isn't the kind of guy to completely scrap ideas. If the glue grenades did indeed prove useful during their use, I imagine that Bruce would've spent time upgrading the formula, and the idea of cost-savings is dumb given that Bruce has unlimited money.
The Batman in this game is VERY angry. Kinda like it, the MOST RUTHLESS version of him. In all gaming variants...

I loved this game, and I never understood why people shit on it.
Its because the boss battles and gameplay sucks ass and blackmask was supposed to be the main bad guy as the game advertised but it just ended being the joker which ruined the story and made it redundant and recycled

From my personal experience I think it's mostly because it's too dependant of Arkham City's gameplay and a lot of ideas are exactly the same as AC but with different names or excuses, lacking a bit of originality (the aspect that I hated the most was Deathstroke's DLC which was literally a copy-paste of AC Robin gameplay but with a different set of gadgets) but that doesn't mean it was bad and it still has the best boss battles in my opinion and the designs were one of the best

It gets explained in the Mr freeze dlc that Batman's glue grenades are inoperable because the sinew isn't sticky anymore
Thus game receives far too much hate. It's fun to play, the city is big and diverse, it showcases a few lesser-known villains, the Joker-is-Black Mask twist is great, showing Batman's first encounters with iconic characters (Gordon, Barbara, Joker, etc) were done well and the Cold, Cold Heart DLC was (no pun intended) icing on the cake. There was great stuff in Knight, but I think City and Origins were the best of the series.
The only parts of the game I didn't care for was the bridge section/Firefly fight and I think the Deathstroke fight should have been a little later in the game (and Shiva earlier).
You do realize that half the map was just recycled from Arkham City?

I mean, the least they could have done is show some of the buildings from Arkham City being under construction, or maybe not even there yet, but they didn't. They literally just copied and pasted the map from Arkham City as it was with no alterations at all. Just lazy, in my opinion.

Despite most of the game being "much of the same" as other Batman games, I do have to say I really liked the soundtrack throughout. Most of the dark Christmas songs featured throughout really helped set the tone and sometimes I'd pause the game just to listen.

In the cold cold heart DLC alfredo tells u the glue compound was unstable and disintegrated thus the need for freeze grenades later

Then... the Joker would’ve died in minutes,since he did say “Every beat of Bane’s heart will charge the battery into the electric chair.”.So the Joker basically put himself in a situation where he should’ve died because Bane runs a lot in the boss battle,which would make his heart beat even faster,charging the battery in a matter of minutes.And you can’t tell me that Batman can beat Bane in seconds because that would be impossible and would’ve taken him time to beat the other criminals and Bane.

Here's another sin: Deathstroke gets recruited by Amanda Waller, yet in the Suicide Squad kill the Justice League (Which is set in the Arkhamverse after the events of Arkham Knight) Deadshot and Harley Quinn are the only Batman villains to be in Metropolis trying to stop Braniac
LOVE Arkham Origins! It and City are tied as my favs can't choose between em but loveeeee Origins. To each their own!
