You know how you feel when you finish a great book series and there's an emptyness as you close the last book ? That's how I imagine a lot of us are feeling now that the ride has come to an end. Amazing people, amazing support vehicle ! All the best !
Lou, what a perfect way to celebrate their amazing accomplishment. LAPD was over the top supportive ❤️ . I think the boys need to do it again next year so you will be able to ride with them. So beautiful to see so much love and support for Francis and Justin. Sad that this adventure is over for them but I know those two will come up with another fun adventure and next time you and Katie will both be riding with them.
So proud of these guys! Such a huge accomplishment and a lot of money raised. I’m a HF patient and this year is our first annual Ohio To Erie Trail ride to raise money to help others suffering from heart failure and to promote organ donation. If they can do over 3000 miles we can definitely do 326!
The cycling community and the LAPD came out to be a part of something spectacular and it was. Great video and look forward to the next one. Side note, the lads have to ride to Alaska, that is the furthest point on mainland America. Beach, bikinis and beer time. Slainte!
The world needs more cyclists like those two-humble, smiling, kind, giving, and inviting. I'm happy they made it to Cali safely. May the Lord continue to watch over them
This whole trip has been a joy to watch. The lads have been heroic, funny and just plain bad- ass for 48 days! Apart from the great support from friends...yourselves and family, carbon repair people flying from England etc, it is the generosity of random strangers along the way that has touched me too. I did'nt realise how emotionaly involved I was in this whole endevour. I just had a teary moment.

The rider/officer in the LAPD kit follows Francis on TH-cam and been tracking his journey from the start. He put in the formal requests through his department and organized the escort along with the group ride. Bravo.
I've been anxiously waiting for this video :) The format of Francis' videos necessarily couldn't capture some of this, like the volume of riders that came out. I'm so jealous of everyone that got to be there. The only other time most people in the US get a police escort like that is for a funeral, so I hope it's a long long time before you experience it again. 17:30 I wasn't 100% sure from Francis' video if that was just an overlay or if they really did play it over the loudspeakers :) Thank you both so much helping the guys and for being such great ambassadors for cycling!
Hahaha yes that music bit of my video was filmed by Rob. I couldn’t resist playing that tune over the cop car speaker, I found the track and Francis grabbed the radio. Was so funny.
Lou, keep resting that hip. Before you know it, you'll be out on another one of your cycling adventures again :-). Loved all the behind the scenes footage. Can't wait to see more of that.... and perhaps some of your celebration too, even if it did get messy :-D
Lou, I broke my hip last year (2001) in early July and was back on my bike in September-72 at the time, 74 now, if I can I know you can. Brilliant to see the ending from your perspective, and thanks for all the support you and Rob gave the guys.

The thing that hasn't been said yet but stands out to me is, that the LAPD has good taste regarding cycling kits... There are some pro teams that should take a design course with them... :-P
I’ve watched all of this series (bloody obviously) but also … Pretty much all of it from project USA, Australia, Vietnam etc … and just going shopping too. Plus the idiocy of eve resting on a kids bike etc, Chris on 107 stuff. Justin’s has been in and out but always as a positive legend This has to be as good as it gets though It also is a massive recognition of the wider community of people who do this a a Give a shit Vicarious love and support at its best.

I find the lot of you inspirational… it even motivated an ageing, fattening, ex rugby player to get onto a bike again Despite the fact that, living in SW France, I am regularly dropped by ancient Frenchmen on steel bikes with onions (well not quite with the onions), I am pleased you did so. @@MyLouTube have Justin check with UPS or FedEx to see about getting the box shipped to him here in LA. They should be able to contact the nearest location in Miami near the location where it’s stored then send them the shipping label….then have the box dropped off at that location to ship it to LA. Probably have to go air freight with Francis’s visa running out….or just get it extended so they both can enjoy the warmer weather here compared to England….lol

Interesting to see LA riders don't seem to believe in lights. I never ride without my Varia Radar Light for safety, anytime of day. Or maybe the camera didn't pick them up properly?
Many people don’t ride with lights during the day and particularly on this ride probably felt safer than they’ve ever felt before! I think a rear light all the time isn’t a bad shout though.
