Hi there, no there’s no extra bonus on zwift for having a zwift bike apart from a virtual badge or something, you certainly don’t get extra watts, that wouldn’t be fair at all. The bikes are very accurate and are used to race on at the highest level. You’re certainly not at a disadvantage on them either though.

@@Housestationliveso people are claiming the zwift bikes over read the watts? That’s just not true. As soon as anyone raced on them and had to provide double power readings this would have come to light. I have power pedals and they read the same as the power coming from the Zwift ride and my other Wahoo smart trainer.

Do you need to change gear? Is the chain in place properly?

A battery pack is really handy for this!

Theres a shoulder as you can see, but it’s not wide and I found it scary because the traffic is moving fast, there’s sometimes debris in the way and if you get too close to the edge of the bridge there’s a worry you’d go over because the sides are not high. In a group it would be much less scary, I wouldn’t recommend it alone unless you are fearless!

@@MyLouTubeThanks for the reply. Being stuck between fast moving traffic and a jump into the Atlantic doesn’t sound very comfortable. I was thinking about riding from Miami. From what I’ve gathered so far other bike/pedestrian bridges on that route have been completed and offer safety. It’s only the 7 mile bike bridge that is not completed. Any info on that?

@@386Clarke we drove from Miami to Key West and I hoped to ride a lot of it, it just wasn't suitable at all no. With a group of people, on a sturdier bike than a road bike and with a large set of balls it would be possible. I had none of those things though! Many people have done it and they do advertise that you can ride the whole way, totally depends on what you're comfortable with. I think my video shows where my comfort level was at and I was way past that level. Admittedly I am a fairly cautious cyclist and not super brave when I'm solo though. I've heard there's a sportive, that would be a great way of riding it and would be fun, the views are absolutely incredible, it's a beautiful part of the world.

@@MyLouTubeI saw it advertised as the Overseas Highway Trail which made me think it was a nice path mostly separate from the highway but it looks like more road riding than I thought so it’s not as enticing. I lived in Florida for a year and I’ve been to the Keys and you’re right it is amazing. But I also know Florida drivers. I think there are more cyclists killed in Florida than any other state. I’m glad you survived. Cheers!

You’re right. Completely surreal to see the difference a couple of days make. Shocking. Thankfully the “Sunset Fire” that was in the Hollywood area didn’t destroy any houses / structures and was 100% contained by the LAFD within a day. Sadly other areas weren’t so lucky and 1000s of people have lost their beautiful homes and all their things. I can’t even imagine. 💔

Thanks Kev, yes haha it's been a bit of a shock coming back to such cold weather and jet lag has hit me hard, but I really can't moan, feeling very fortunate. And yesssss I did get Rob up to the sign, video of that to come! 💗

Fantastic yes, would love to come back to San Diego! We were there a couple of years ago and loved it. Unfortunately I was recovering from a serious injury so wasn't cycling, I've heard it's great there though! 💗

Sorry to hear you don't ride anymore. Would you like to? Perhaps a good bike fit and cycling shoe assessment might help? 140kms in a day is decent, that's quite a few hours on a bike! Yes the LA fires are awful, so sad to see all the devastation. 💔

@@MyLouTube Most of that ride was on a gravel trail so was a bit slow. I miss my simple Giant OCR3 though. My toes never have been the same since the surgery so sold all my bikes. Its why I enjoy your videos though and others on here like that woman I see you with sometimes, katie kookaburra or something? I forget her name. Nice to see you in LA again in your new video. Interesting to hear you might move there one day. I still feel very sad about the fires also.

Hahaha. Yeah I was blown away by the cycling there. Wasn’t brave enough to cycle on the strip though, that was crazy down there!!!! Fun for a night out though and loved all the LV gear! 💖💖💖

Estimated Billion $'s worth of buildings destroyed. Fires out of control, firemen holding a hose to flames, futile ! Even caught a couple of "scrotes" looting ! No doubt going to look like "Ground zero" when the flames do die down. Insurance, if applicable, can cover certain things, but certain things prized personal objects, gone.
