I started a radio show in Boulder, Colorado during my freshman year of college at the University of Colorado in Boulder in 1978, for the wonderful KGNU Boulder-Denver. I heard Rare Silk perform in Boulder, and recommended that they perform as the warm up for the Benny Goodman Sextet in November, 1979. BG was favorably impressed, and invited them to tour with him to places like Symphony Hall in Boston and Carnagie Hall in NY. These wonderful, talented ladies called me at the station the night they broadcast nationally on NPR from Carnagie. They then traveled with Benny with Teddy Wilson, piano, to Japan. This is the first time I've seen this. BG looks so happy. Hope all these ladies are doing well. They have a special place in my heart!
I'm sure these girls were thrilled to be on the stage with Benny and the band.
It was a mutual feeling. BG had three individual limos for the girls wherever they traveled!

En este video estamos en el "Aurex Jazz Festival" en el año 1980, en Budokan (Tokyo) con nada menos que el Sr, Benny Goodman (1909-1986) con Teddy Wilson al piano , legendario músico de Goodman, secundado por brillantes jazzistas y con el conjunto vocal "Rare Silk", muy bueno por cierto. Este músico genial, aún de grande, atrajo multitud de melómanos y entusiastas en el mundo entero. Ha sido sin duda uno de los músicos más importantes del siglo XX. "Broadway" es el tema que interpretan.
