Honestly, how terrifiying would be if the next time they do a "Dalek stair joke," the Dalek says "elevate!" and two legs pop out. Also, props to the people who carried those casings, even if they weren't made of Dalekanium, they'd still be pretty heavy.
For this scene they used props made from injecting foam into a mould to create hollow Dalek shells, so it was easier for the guys inside to lift them over the terrain
I always love your use of being hyper focused on lore and laughing away or explaining classic Who being typical classic TV. I think Destiny is a funny one though because I could never imagine a plot like this in modern Who (whether that is good or bad). The bipedal legs did make me laugh.
I'm sorry, but having Daleks sacrifice themselves in the same story where they explain Daleks can't sacrifice themselves seems like a weird choice. (Though you could read it as Davros having influence over them.) I'm impressed by how many Daleks they constructed to blow up. A shot like that would normally use miniatures, but they certainly commited.
From what I understand they only actually blew up two, with the others quickly removed before the explosions set off. The two destroyed were also shot from different angles so they could use the footage to appear as other individual Daleks exploding.
A personal fan theory I have with these daleks is that they are robots acting as “care takers or skaro” in the war as if they came back to skaro to get davros surely they would have there own ship surely?
An advancing wall of Daleks equipped with suicide vests is a certainly a striking image, one of the more memorable parts of the episode for sure. Shame it’s rendered kind of redundant when the Daleks are established to have their own self-destructs even without the extra help.
At the very least, it definitely wouldn’t be done with the same Douglas Adamsey levity that Destiny is filled with. Maybe if they were intentionally trying to construct a metaphor, and gave the subject matter the weight it deserves.

There is a 3d model by the prydonian of the dalek bombers with legs
It's been aged since I'd seen this story and so I'd forgotten about the legs. ...dear lord.
**SNEAKING MUSIC**
I never noticed thar until today.

Cracked me up - Destiny of the Daleks never fails to under impress!
I love that you made the legs canon XD Great video as usual!
"Self sacrifice illogical, therefore impossible"

Yes finally you’ve done them
yup

Got a figure of that
The suicide squad, demoman explosives edition with the Dalek dlc.
The original grey daleks
Can Dalek Bombers do the can-can?
it seems they've got the legs for it!
You should do a video on the whole of dalek history 🙏
You know what the instructor said to the rest of these daleks
Now watch closely im only gonna show you this once
Bomber Daleks were excellent but alas they could be used only once.
DO NOT DEVIATE! Crazy line.
🐙💥
I'm going to say that Davros's questionable actions in this episode was because he hadn't fully recovered from being in stasis
Hey Dalek Bumps
It’s a shame they never appeared again the part with the legs think was a goof
This was one of Davros' dumber war strategies... what was he thinking? Did he have brain freeze?
Must've still been recovering from the centuries of stasis
I have a feeling suicide bomber daleks wouldn't fly well in this day and age... what with past real life events etc

The real question is, why are bomber Daleks?
