FISH🐟🐟 x 2: Jackie & Shadow Bond, Pancake & Chase a Sub-Adult Away, 6-hour-long Nest Visit + Fiona🐿️

What an eventful day with pancaking, 2 FISH and a lot of love. Our beloved Bald Eagles Jackie 🦅 and Shadow 🦅 spend 6 hours in the nest, bring some fluff and a lot of sticks, rearrange them and aerate the nest bowl. Jackie pancakes, Shadow brings 2 FISH. Jackie claims the 1st fish and eats it. Shadow comes to the nest with another fish a few hours later. This time he is chased by a Sub-Adult. Jackie chases the Sub-Adult away but does not come to eat the fish. She still has a full crop after eating the 1st fish. Jackie comes half an hour later and bonds with Shadow over the Nestoration. There are some beaky kisses & love nibbles, too. Fiona the Flying Squirrel 🐿️ keeps coming to the nest every night to look for some leftovers and clean the nest.

I remember "nesting" when I was pregnant with our daughter! No corner or cloth was safe or clean enough!
The lists of appliances and rooms for renovation were endless and revised daily. Only we never made them.
She was born, and our whole daily routine and life changed forever!

Watching in Illinois praying that this is a better year for these two love birds last year was sad😢 I know they’re getting older and this would probably be her last time laying we just wants to see some babies from these two beautiful birds🎉🎉🎉

So happy to see some fluff coming in 💞 I didn't think Jackie would be able to arrange that big branch but she did 🥰😂 Poor Shadow being chased by that sub-adult 🥴 she is still sticking around! Shadow was so loud and indignant 🤯 when he arrived.

Does anybody check their nests each year to make sure they are strong for the winter?
The Eagles know about the Eagle's nest🙂 What do we humans know about nest building & safety🤔
I think some of the sticks ended up going over the edge of the nest. 😂
Are fish the food of choice for the eagles that live in this area?

@53shuzzie They sleep in trees nearby. Jackie will start spending the night in the nest when she lays her eggs.
